I wrote the company about my experience and received an email that did nothing but discourage me from ever coming to a curves. They told me that curves locations do not have to accept coupons from the curves website. Um, then why the F do you even have coupons on your website?! Skip a curves and go to a golds gym.

Having been a happy, former member of this Curves several years ago, I decided to rejoin, but, once inside after speaking to the Manager, I couldn’t leave fast enough. You know when you have decided to make the decision to get back in shape and be healthy, it still takes courage to walk in the front door to make the commitment. Expecting an upbeat, helpful, informative sales person, it was a total opposite response. In fact, I know more about the new machines from the web,(which they did not have) or the program and competing gyms. Instead of pursuing me, I was advised the newer machines were just a way to charge more and most members didn’t use them at other clubs, because the reader cards just tell you the performance is not correct. Also, she asked if I heard the music, and told me the Temple City club on LasTunas and Rosemead Bkvd has to pay the Franchise yearly fee to use it, that the main owner of the Franchise is MONEYHUNGRY and requires them to pay for it. Did I care?!. I think the 118.00 starting fee and 44.00 a month covers it! I had an offer from the web, and a voucher from my insurance, which she could not explain or honor. And I was given a week free as a gift, but, I think it’s a rip. She did take copies of evertthing before I left, BUT, she NEVER asked my name or number to get back to me. I left feeling angry and called a friend to vent the bad feelings, as she was also wanting to join in her area. Please don’t go here. You need a club to coach and support you, so you look forward to coming as you go thru your journey. As for me, I now hesitate if I want to try another Curves, having to drive further to another area. I do know, I left very unhappy and have even felt the need to report this business to Headquarters. Such a poor representation of Curves!
