Loved Michelle. She trimmed and styled my hair. Took her time and did a great job. I wanted to keep the length long and she did!

I’m still happy with Vicki! She keeps track of my color and how it lasts and makes recommendations for how to hide the grey better.
Now I have had a fantastic pedicure from Nina in the spa area. I have very ticklish feet so I have a difficult time letting anyone work on my feet. Nina has some experience with reflexology, so she gave the best for massage ever, and the products she used have left my feet perfectly smooth and soft.
Now I am making appointments for both hair and feet at E’Lan!

Had great experiences with the facial and spray tan services. Would highly recommend Barbara for a facial, very sweet and great at what she does!
However I was not satisfied with the salon services. The woman that cut my hair was super nice but the cut was very bad. I went in for a haircut to correct some layer issues in my hair and left with my cut looking worse. The layers are choppy and do not flow nicely. I called the owner and she was willing to try and correct it, unfortunately had to lose a little length but it looked better with her help.
Overall, I would go back for the spa treatments but would be hesitant for hair.

I’ve been seeing Rosa for almost 2 years, and I will never go anywhere else. The receptionists make it easy to get you scheduled and always remind you of your appointments. I just get a cut and style, but Rosa always takes her time with me including a wonderful massage while she’s washing my hair. I constantly get compliments and I have to give the credit to Rosa. Everything about Élan is classy and clean. I will never go anywhere else!

Moved here a few years ago and hoped to find a hair stylist as good as my last stylist. Reading the reviews here, I set an appointment with Toni to get a cut and style. The result is amazing! I had split ends and beat-​up hair… she did an incredible job, cutting my hair to frame the shape of my face. She gave me good advice on my hair and is very friendly as well. If I were to get another cut, it would definitely be from Toni!

Based on reviews on Unilocal,I made an appointment with Toni. With my last stylist, I kept asking her to clip the «bird tuffs» that frame my face. And of course, she’d try to do that. I also wanted a much shorter style, so I decided to change stylists. I went to Toni, and she was wonderful. This is the BEST style I’ve had in a long, long time.

Wonderful stylist and place. My hair looks and feels beautiful! Holly did an excellent job. I’ll definitely return to her next time. I’ve been looking for someone local for a long time.

Went in last week for a mani/​pedi and had a phenomenal experience. In addition to her stellar nail skills, Nina provided excellent customer service and was a pleasure to chat with; I will be back! Highly recommend!

Not to Aveda standards. Everyone at this salon has been nice and courteous. Although politeness can not make up for their lack of experience and expertise. To start with, I got a facial here. I left with a greasy face, no added shine/​glow to my skin. It was worse than my home facials when I was a teenager. Then I tried waxing… Disaster. She was nice about trying to fix her mistakes, but her technique was subpar. She did not every use hard wax. Just disaster. I had to go to another salon within a week to fix it. Now for my hair… Aveda to me means they are experts in their field. I expect the hand or neck massage and added touch of aromatherapy. None of it was done. She needed detailed direction on my coloring and cut (which experienced hair stylist usually don’t need from me). She couldn’t match the prior Aveda hair color. After my complaint, she was courteous and tried to fix it. Tried. Then I decided to just accept that her level of experience and knowledge isn’t there. I can not fault this salon on manners. It was pleasant. However, it just isn’t up to expected Aveda standards.

I’ve been to E’Lan twice to get spray tans before events. While the spray tans always look good and NEVER look orange, the ladies at the front desk are rude and unprofessional. My friend and I got to our appointment on time to get spray tans and another lady was arriving late at the same time, the lady who had 3 kids with her for some reason got priority over my friend and I. She was rushed in and we had to wait. The lady who did my spray tan did a good job, the spray tan looked natural and she was sweet and nice to talk to, I just didn’t appreciate being put last after I showed up on time.

I am new to the Temple area and after moving from the LA area, was nervous about finding a great salon in this small town. I was prepared to maybe have to drive to Austin for good cut and color. However, my fellow Unilocalers helped me discover this gem of a place right here! The salon is large, open and clean. The stations are not all crammed right next to each other so that you have no breathing room. The best part: Toni took my over processed lifeless hair and gave it a great style. i felt like i had a new head of hair when i left. She showed me the products she was using on my hair but there was no pressure to buy. I will be seeing her for my cuts and color as long as I live within driving distance. Toni is terrific!

I’ve wandered from salon to salon in this area and was always disappointed, mostly by the glaring lack of professionalism. When I go to get my hair done, nails done or a massage, I want to be be taken care of rather than tolerate the service (s) and surroundings. I finally found my home at E’Lan, a full-​service operation and very professional. I’ve got very short hair and have never had a better haircut than what I’ve gotten from Gino… the best! Samantha does a fabulous job on pedicures and manicures… also the best! Just had my first massage with Jesse… again, the best! Don’t waste your time being frustrated at less-​than establishments. E’Lan is worth every penny!

I love Toni… it’s so hard to find a great hair stylist! If Toni left Élan, I would follow her anywhere. EVERYTIME I leave the salon I am happy. I haven’t had any other services done there except seeing Toni, so I can’t speak of those, but if your looking for an awesome hair stylist GO SEE TONI!

I had just moved To Temple from Ks, where I had gone to the same stylist for 20+ yrs. when I moved I figured I would fly/​go back every 5 – 6 weeks to have my hair done. WRONG! I couldn’t make it back one time as soon as I needed, so started looking for a stylist in Temple. I read the review about Crystal here at E’Lan salan. It talked about the nice job she did on fine hair. So me, having baby fine and thin hair, and being super pickey about the way I wanted my hair cut, I made an appt with Crystal! When I went in, I listed the criteria I Wanted with my hair cut. She was able to hit the mark with everything I listed. After scheduling issues on my part, I went back today for my
second appt. We talked about my first cut, etc. she made the changes plus highlighted and waxed. I loved it! My hair was wonderful – crystal was wonderful. I now know I won’t have to make that 8 hr trip back to Ks to see my old stylist – I found one I like just as good or better. Not to mention how flexible they were in working/​booking me in after my appt nightmare! Highly recommend Crystal! Especially if you have short, fine thin hair! 5 thumbs up as they say!

Disclaimer: I would give this place 4.5 stars, but that’s not an option. It doesn’t deserve a 4, but it’s not quite good enough to get a 5, so here’s why I’d give it 4.5 stars.
I’ve lived in the area for 5 ½ years and had yet to find someone who could cut AND color my hair properly. Key word in that last sentence was «had». I’ve found the person who can do both, and I couldn’t be more excited!
The salon itself is beautiful. The front area is large and open, and I appreciate that the front area is separate from the salon area so there’s not a lot of phones ringing, chatter from the desk staff, etc. The back area was very clean, and nicely separated.
My appointment was with Crystal. She was very sweet and friendly. I’ve been trying to grow out my hair for about a year and a half, and seeing as I have baby fine hair she very nicely (yet bluntly) told me that my hair would not look good grown out because it would look stringy and weighed down. She told me I had the perfect hair for a bob, and after showing her a picture on my phone of what I used to do in the past (Jenny McCarthy bob) she told me that would be perfect.
She did a wonderful job on my color, although I wish it could have been a little blonder. It’s the right color, and it didn’t turn to mush, so I’m happy. I was almost giddy when she got out the razor to cut my hair (my stylist from back home did that, so I know it works on my hair), so I knew it would hopefully look great.
Never in my life have I been that person that everyone — co-​workers, friends, people at church, even strangers — stops and compliments me on my hair — UNTIL NOW. I’ve had so many people in the last 4 days tell me how adorable and how wonderful my hair looks, and I am so glad, relieved, and thrilled that I’ve found someone who can make me look great!
What I appreciate the most was that she told me what she was doing, like putting a toner in my hair. Many salons I’ve been to won’t tell you what they’re doing. I also appreciated that she told me about what product she was using without being pushy. When I told her I used a Bumble&Bumble product, she didn’t try to switch me over to Aveda. As it turned out, one of the products she used worked beautifully on my hair, and I bought it — best $ 26 I’ve spent in a while.
The only downfall to the salon was the gentleman in the front. I’ve worked a salon front desk before, so I know that there are just times the brain isn’t working right. :) But he royally butchered my last name (even having spelled it 3 times for him, and it’s not that hard to spell). He was also gossiping quite freely in the front, going as far as to call a co-​worker who had just left the room «stupid». Not exactly professional, at least tone down your voice if you’re going to verbally bash a co-​worker.
I’m excited to go back, and I can’t wait to tell Crystal how many compliments I’ve received. E’Lan is definitely a bright spot in Temple’s beauty and salon scene, and I’m eager to try a facial there!

This is my favorite salon/​spa! The hair stylists are great. Michelle did my wedding updo and color and Micah did my bridesmaids updos, and all three of us turned out amazing. We also had spa manicures and pedicures and the staff and atmosphere were great! Awesome massage chairs and a glass of wine, too! A really great experience and top-​notch service. Pricey, but worth it.

Toni is GREAT on color, clips & style this place is awesome

Went today for the first time. 1. This place is beautiful! 2. Everyone was sweet and professional. 3. Love my new haircut. Toni did my hair… which isn’t easy because it is so thick, but she did an awesome job. She even showed me some styling tips. Went back to work after having it cut and already got several compliments. Going back tomorrow morning for a mani/​pedi.

Just got another great cut from Toni. Love this place! The guy at the front desk was great this time! Looks like all kinks have been worked out.
