Smashburger

I won’t go back. Staff was sitting outside when i drove up — some were smoking. they all walked in with me. Took my order. I didn’t see anyone wash their hand after smoking… gave me my order. o drove 1 block home… fries were stone cold… bacon on the burger was old. The tables in the store were clean. When i went to the drink area to get my drinks, the area was nasty… very dirty. If they were bored, try cleaning the drink station. They need a manager there daily. Maybe the person smoking and cooking my food was the manager. WOW!

Great food, awfully slow service. Management is penny pinching at the expense of service. Cashier works as server even during peak hours. You can definitely tell employees are overwhelmed by performing multiple tasks at once.

The burgers are tasty and the service was fine. BIG PROBLEM IS THE CLEANLINESS– the staff is not very well groomed and the dining area has gnats flying around. The final addition to the mess was crickets in the light fixtures. CLEAN THE RESTAURANT AND YOU HAVE A 4star spot… until then it’s Trashburger.

Wow, this was the worst hamburger experience I’ve ever had! It was dirty and had a weird smell when we first went in. However, my 14 year old insisted we try it. Even the milkshakes were just weird. My daughter’s tasted like there was ground up plastic in it. Dry burger. Overly greasy fries.
The only thing they had in their favor was friendly service. Not enough to get me back though.

So the food is usually decent here, however, the filth of this location has me questioning what the kitchen looks like! Ripped up booths, and the floor has me grease skating around this mofo. If I’m hurting in the morning they can’t blame Mexican cilantro, because there was none.

Oops! Not an awesome visit. Placed an online order and they were out of the fruit water, but the cashier was annoyed that I wanted a refund for it (they weren’t even busy). The fries were unusually greasy and limp (I usually looove their fries). Burgers were fine and our order came out at the quoted time.

This was my first visit here and now I wish I hadn’t! All I got was the onion rings and they were so greasy and soggy I couldn’t eat them … Nasty!

I love their grilled chicken on wheat with spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion and goat cheese. This healthy alternative taste amazing. This sandwich can also be ordered as a burger. I prefer chicken, but the burger is also outstanding. Highly recommend!

The food was good despite the fact that both my avocado club burgers were missing the avo and the goat cheese, spinach and cucumber burger didn’t have cucumbers. When we called, they offered to refund the price of the avo. We expected a bit more compensation since each burger was missing a key component, and therefore not what we ordered, but their logic was «well you got the burger right!?» I work in customer service/​food service and this would not fly at my store. I would get chewed out like nobody’s business. Needles to say we were disappointed and I have yet to see a refund for just the avo over a week later. The food was tasty despite the lack of customer service. It was disappointing cause I really wanted to like them.

This place is so delish! So far I have only had the chicken burgers, but they are amazing. My hubs likes the burgers! Definitely a must do again and again!

This place is shockingly bad. Nevermind the bad burgers, they can’t even seem to get orders correct. I ordered a kids CHEESEburger and I got dry, overcooked meat and a bun. I ordered the avocado club burger with AMERICAN cheese and a big avocado burger with BLUE cheese for my husband. Both burgers came with blue cheese. I’m not a fan of blue cheese. The smash fries are kinda gross. Too much rosemary and very oily. The whole experience was just awful. We wound up going somewhere else for lunch after spending over $ 30 for this place. Never again. Save your money. I’m not sure, aside from an experience at Burger Tex once, that we have had a more disgusting burger. No bueno!

The restaurant is clean enough but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The burgers were wholly unremarkable and the fries were no better than Macdonald’s.
For the price I’d much rather go to Five Guys and don’t plan to return.

A friend brought me smash burger while I was in the hospital post-​delivery. It was delicious (although I was starving so anything might have tasted like heaven). My husband and I decided to give it a try the next time we went to temple. The customer service was atrocious! The staff seemed inconvenienced that we actually wanted food. I ordered haystacks as a side for the burgers and paid. After payment I was informed that they were out of haystacks. The cashier didn’t think a refund was warranted. The burgers were also undercooked. We will not be returning.

The service was good but the burger was dry and bland and the smash fries would have been better had they had a little less rosemary I would go back but it wouldn’t be my first choice

Smashfries are off the chain and the burger are actually really good, with bacon, mayo, pickles, and cheese of course xD I was super happy to hear from the awesome cashier that they have a location open by my house in Austin!!! It’s so weird because I had never heard of Smashburger until my visit in Temple. You guys need to come out of hiding in Austin, we’re ready for ya: D

good food, I like the fried chicken sandwich the most, and for everybody saying they are pricey, good god take your cheap butt to McDonald’s and buy a burger that isn’t even real beef, mostly filler. you want quality sadly it cost more, figures people in this hole of a county are so cheap!!!

Expensive but good. I had the Baja something and it was good. Smash fries are good. Clean. Tasty.

Driving through Temple, we had a burger craving. Although the ratings were suspect, we gave this location a try only after I convinced the Hubs that Smash Burger was great… at least the Frisco location was.
We came through Smash Burger at 4:30 on a Saturday and found it to be rather unpopulated with patrons. We ordered our burgers and sat down. When the burgers arrived, they were what others called, «greasy.» The Frisco location doesn’t share this trait.
The fries were cold-​ish and unimpressive.
Also, the staff looked like they all had a late night of who knows what. Sleepwalking through the day. I also question the cleanliness based on the appearance of the staff and the fact that the place smelled slightly of urine.
We won’t be back to this location. Kinda left an uninspiring lasting impression.

Smashburger has changed a lot since I last came over a year ago. Still good burgers (and super greasy) but not good enough to justify the cost. If I’m paying $ 10 for a burger, I shouldn’t be getting a super flat patty with $ 1 more for each extra topping. What makes the burgers good is essentially the greasiness. That’s it. Things naturally taste «better» if you add more butter and oil…
I’ve had their Mushroom Swiss and Avocado Club before along with a few «create your own» burgers. All of them were pretty decent (reason for 3 stars instead of 2) but the size of the toppings was underwhelming. $ 1 for a tiny scoop of guacamole and $ 1.50 for 2 strips of short bacon? Don’t think so. And don’t bother getting their «big smash» patty. You can’t tell the difference even if you put it side-​by-​side with a «normal smash» patty. I’m guessing they just smash the same piece of meat even flatter =/​
I don’t see myself coming back to Smashburger in the future. If I want quality burgers, I would go to Hopdoddy or BJ’s. If I want cheap burgers, I can go to Five Guys or even McDonalds.

I ordered the Swiss mushroom burger and it was pretty good. I ordered the sweet potato smash fries and… well…they were okay but I wish I had just stuck to plain old sweet potato fries.
Smash fries are fries seasoned with rosemary, and it was okay for the first few bites, but after that it was too much. For me, French fries are mostly a vehicle for eating ketchup. The smash fries were a huge fail for this. The ketchup and rosemary combo was vomit inducing. Do. Not. Eat. I left feeling ketchup deprived.
So just know that if you want a reason to eat ketchup, skip the smash fries. If you want to try something a little different to change up your French fry routine, then go ahead and give them a try. Just get a small order to see if you like it.
