Mr. Pickle’s

Is it a requirement for the Mr. Pickles franchisees to be super friendly? It must. We needed some nourishment before hitting another winery. Pretty much a regular at our Walnut Creek Mr. Pickles, we thought we would try one in a different area. Tucked away in a small little center with a Trader Joes, this sandwich shop shares space with Merry Hill Café. The staff is very friendly, prompt to greet and prompt to make your sandwich. The deal comes with a drink, chips and a cookie. We love Mr. Pickles and look forward to hitting another shop in our adventures.

Man this place is GREAT. Sandwiches are absolutely top notch in quality, taste, and portion size. Everyone behind the Counter was very friendly and willing to go the extra mile, wrapping our left overs, suggesting local sights, and just making the experience great. Large selection of things to choose from, catering Menu, lot of options, and they understand how important the bread is, their bread is fresh, soft, and makes the entire Sandwich shine. Bravo, I’ll be back.

I love Mr. Pickles. When I find out one has opened up near me I immediately go into «WE MUST GO THERE IMMEDIATELY» mode. I mean honestly though, who can pass up quality ingredients, the best Dutch Crunch bread on this side of the West Coast, and friendly service? I sure can’t. Can you?
This location is ideal. I mean, this is a restaurant lover’s dream location. It’s next to a bank, a gym, and Von’s. There’s plenty of parking available! This sandwich shop also has a total Tardis-​effect going on with it. I did not think it would be that big inside, but it was! Oh my word, it was! Compared to the SLO location, this was like luxury. I did take one star off because even though the inside has plenty of seating, is aesthetically pleasing and has a good flow, the floor was really gross. They need someone every couple of hours cleaning the floor. It should never be as bad as it was.
The only commentary I will give on the sandwiches is that I get The Mr. Pickle every time I go to a Mr. Pickle’s location and it has without fail, been one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten in my entire life. I don’t even like sandwiches with everything on it, but between the chicken and the avocado and the bacon it becomes a true flavor harmony and it can only ever been on a Dutch Crunch. A full sandwich is impossible with The Mr. Pickle. It is so filling that only half of it will keep you full for the entire day. It’s the sandwich to eat when you’re on break from work.
Onto the impeccable service. I was immediately helped out by a young man who looked like he was in college. He was attentive, kept a conversation going, and really listened to what I wanted. Another staff member helped out my boyfriend. This person was a bit younger and kind of seemed a bit lost at times. However, the final product was completely devoured by my boyfriend in less than 10 minutes. The person who made his sandwich really paid attention to the specific things my boyfriend asked for. So it made all the difference when he bit into his sandwich and found that the order was correct.
At the cash register we were helped by the very lovely Brittany. I loved how cheerful and chatty she was. She was the person who made the experience feel very neighborly and that (outside of the sandwiches) is the sole reason why this Mr. Pickles will be THE only sandwich shop I ever go to in this area.

Had a special sandwich «The Spaceman.» Very tasty. Nice sourdough roll, decent quality meat. Very friendly staff. Very good value for the money. I would most definitely recommend this place. If you’re looking for somewhere to grab a nice picnic sandwich for some wine tasting, look no further. We will 100% be stopping here next time we’re in the area.

I think this place is great. Easy and convenient location in a small outdoor shopping area. All meals come with a cookie (bonus!). They have kid portions with healthy options and every sandwich I’ve had from them has been consistent and great. Wish they had better outdoor seating but it’s not their fault.

The tuna tuna is delicious, the staff members are friendly, and the warm cookie is an added bonus!

Employees are always so nice and accommodating. Come here for lunch often and get the BLAT. Fresh ingredients, huge sandwich. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a great sandwich, beats subway any day!

I’ve been meaning to write my review about my experience here a few weeks ago. The staff were all very friendly and helpful in choosing what sandwiches to order (I was ordering sandwiches for friends as well as one for me). The wait wasn’t that long at all and the prices seemed fair. Oh, and the sandwiches tasted good as well. I will most likely be back in the near future.

I’m sorry, but the «free» cookie isn’t free when you are paying almost $ 9 for a regular sized sandwhich. I’d rather pay less and not have the cookie! I’ll stick with Subway, many more choices, WAY better value, better hours etc…

The staff at Mr. Pickles are wonderful. My wife and I stopped in 5 minutes before they were supposed to close with a huge request. We needed 45 sandwiches to feed the Templeton High School drama students when their scheduled meal didn’t show up. The staff stayed late and had everything ready within 30 minutes. The sandwiches were delicious, and the kids were super thankful.
No more Subway for this family! It’s Mr. Pickles all the way.

I showed up @ 6:59pm last night (1 minute before closing) fully expecting they would have closed down their shop/​register and preferred I didn’t walk through the door… HOWEVER, this was far from my experience! What a professional & customer service oriented group of people… Their sandwiches are ALWAYS delicious and I love the happy, friendly attitude of folks that work here. BEST sandwich shop in North County SLO by a long shot! Thank You Mr. Pickles for always satisfying our sando cravings :))
P. S. we love the fresh baked chocolate chip cookie too!

Great place for a quick big and delicious sandwich both in Templeton or San Luis Obispo, CA. I highly recommend the Corn Beef, Ruben, BLT, and the Summer Love on Dutch bread. One sandwich can easily feed two.

Their sandwiches are very good. Not to mention a filling size for all. Depending on how hungry you are. I will be going back again.

Well, we ate here today for lunch. My 12 year old got the Kickin Chicken. He gave it a ten out of ten, and he’s quite a sandwich snob. I got the Wingman. I agree. Delish.

I have gone to the one in SLO at least 20 times. From what I understand it’s the same owner. Somehow though the Templeton crew was never taught how to warm up a sandwich. 3 different times I have ordered a hot sandwich and each time it was cold. Not lukewarm not kinda hot. I mean cold. I’m done wasting my time here. The SLO crew is also a heck of a lot friendlier.

Man, does Mr. Pickles make a mean sandwhich! I got the BLAT on wheat toast and it put every Subway sandwhich to SHAME. They put at least 10 strips of bacon and half an avocado between the 3 SLICES of heavenly wheat toast, and gave me a free cookie! They also have a TON of sandwhich choices (including a «build your own») that include vegetarian fare. I’ll definitely be back soon to try their wraps.

Pretty good! My fiancé and I were really happy with trying the good look in’ sandwich. He tried it on sourdough and I had it on Dutch crunch. The Dutch crunch was really crunch yet soft on the inside, but I’d like to try the sourdough next time. If you’re planning to eat Subway, you may as well just go here because it’s 10x better for about the same cost. Great sandwich place!

Loved this place first time with my family and they made us feel welcome and treated us with friendly faces and delicious food. A little pricey but lots of good food I’m willing to pay for. Plus a free cookie when you buy a sandwich I’m all over that!

I’ve been here three times now, and I got to say that I love it! While I’m a fan of Subway, the two don’t even compare.
–Let’s start with the bread: I go with the sourdough every time. It’s chewy in the middle and crusty on the outside, but not so crusty that it’s a fight.
–The inside: I always get the Italian with the works (every veggie and sauce, essentially). The meats are fresh and delicious, the veggies crisp and flavorful. I love the garlic sauce. Forget the mayo and mustard and just go with the garlic sauce, it’s amazing!
–The service: every time I’ve gone in, the service has been incredible. Everyone welcomes you on the way in and immediately jump in to take your order. While preparing the sandwich, they chat with you and put effort into taking care of you. I always feel very taken care of here.
–The price: a little more expensive than Subway, but it’s way better too. These sandwiches put Subway to shame. Don’t forget to add a pickle, too!
Parking looks like it’ll be an issue, but it hasn’t been yet. There’s always a few hidden spots to duck into and grab a sandwich.

What a nice little sandwich shop in the Trader Joe’s parking lot. Nice staff, Friendly, AC works great (and we needed that today in Templeton) The Dutch crunch bread was wonderful! The added crunch was great. The sandwich was as ordered and we just split the sandwich and it was plenty. The cashier gave us two cookies so we could each have dessert! Nice. The all you can drink fountain is a plus. Hey quick, easy, we ran into lovely friends. I will be coming back. Thanks!
