Dr. Heidi Tapscott and associates strive to provide affordable veterinary medical and surgical care for your pet in a comfortable and welcoming environment. We couple this with a truly caring attitude and a friendly, knowledgeable staff that wants to keep your pet healthy and safe.

History

Established in 2013.

Dr. Tapscott has been in practice for over 22 years, most recently at the Burlington Veterinary Hospital and the Animal Hospital of Lynnfield. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to come full circle and start a new practice to serve the needs of the pet owning community.

Dr. Tapscott has maintained a reputation as a kind and compassionate animal practitioner with excellent surgical and diagnostic skills. She has a great respect and admiration for the important bond between people and their pets. She also volunteers services for several local rescue groups including the MSPCA Nevins Farm.

Business Owner

Spending time with the animals on her grandparents’ farm as a child was a special time in her life and Dr. Tapscott took that passion for animals to complete the four year pre-​veterinary undergraduate program with honors from Cornell University. She then went on to recieve her Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida.

Dr. Tapscott has been employed at several area veterinary practices and has maintained a reputation as a kind and compassionate animal practitioner with excellent surgical and diagnostic skills.

These guys really helped me out. Friday night I came home and noticed my 20 year old cat, Claudia, was jumping in and out of every litter box, trying hard to pea but not really succeeding. She’s had urinary tract infections before as she has kidney disease and is prone to UTI. Unfortunately, my vet was closed and doesn’t open on weekends. UTI is uncomfortable but it’s not an emergency. Unlike humans, animals don’t have the option of going to urgent care. I called around and Best Pets was the only place willing to squeeze her in, no pun intended. Dr. Tapscott looked Claudia over, sent a sample for testing, and provided her highness with iv fluids, antibiotics, and vitamin B. We were sent home with additional meds and sheet promised to send over all the paperwork to my regular vet, no problem.
Claudia is already looking and feeling better. Thank you Dr. Tapscott.

Dr. Tapscott, is not very good. She miss diagnosed my grasshopper. I went there and she was like «you really want me to look at a grasshopper?» Like it was some kind of joke. He died that week. She charged me$ 40 to «run tests» For a grasshopper. Very unsatisfied will never use this vet again especially not for my dog. R.I.P Petey daddy loves you!

Had an excellent experience with my shih tzu. Dental cleaning and some surgery and she’s doing great. So glad that I learned how to do dental care here!!! So important to know. Thanks everyone for the excellent quality care you gave Emily. I felt she could not have been in better hands and caring people around her. 5 stars if you need a great veterinarian look here.

Dr. Tapscott and her staff are so helpful and very friendly. We just recently got a new puppy and we both had a lot of questions and concerns. His first vet appointment was very reassuring and put our minds at ease being new puppy parents. It was quite obvious that she had a lot of experience and was very knowledgable.
Our puppy got very sick on a Sunday and Dr. Tapscott was able to see him that day. He was treated for roundworm and put on meds immediately. Truly amazing to find a Dr. who makes time for her 4 legged patients even on off hours. I would highly recommend Dr. Tapscott for anyone who is looking for a good veterinarian. We feel very lucky to have found her!

Dr. Tapscott and her team were very friendly and loving towards our new puppy Jackson (and us too)! We recently brought the little guy in for his first exam and the whole team loved him. They gave us tons of helpful information and pointers for the long term care for our puppy. We can’t wait to return for the next check up and vaccinations! Oh yeah, affordable too!

The veterinarian practice I went to for 25+ years changed so I needed to find a new vet for my animals. I was very concerned about finding a vet that I like as much as the one I had been using so I did a lot of research. I came across Best Pets and I am so glad I did. Dr. Tapscott is so compassionate and listens to the needs of both the pets and the owners. She is a wealth of knowledge and is willing to share her expertise. My wife and I could not be happier with the way we and our pets have been treated. It is obvious that Dr. Tapscott cares deeply and is in this business for all the right reasons. One of our cats, Nite Nite has been battling cancer and heart problems the staff here has been extremely helpful. They are also respectful of your time. No sitting around the waiting room to be seen. I would highly recommend this place.

I’ve been to several vets around thr area when i was living in Tewksbury, and this is the only one i am fully comfortable going to with all 3 of my fur babies.
One of my baby was very sick to a point where he refused to eat and lost 1⁄3 of his normal weight, long story short, with all the love and professional skills of an emergency surgery that was performed by her, my baby is on the right path to become a healthy pup once again!
She is not just one of the vet, she cares about ur pups, u, and even give u options on this economic difficult time! Now that i moved to Nashua, she will still be my fur babies only vet! Really appreciate everything that she did for my babies.
