Kiss the Cook Cakes

I’m sure the 6 reviews are family related. But, let me break the news…100 percent pure crumble garbage. This should of been posted awhile ago as I had Gotten a cake way back. Cake was dry and crumbling when cutting as if it was aged in a fluorescent lighting. $ 700.00 of wrinkled fondant with thumb prints, as if they where signatures of the cook of some sort. Total nightmare. please advise! The issue was addressed to the baker/​owner… to give me a whopping gift card of $ 50.

Kathy, who helped me with my order was just the best! The service I received from beginning to end was outstanding! The cake for my daughter’s birthday was so cute and beautiful and the taste of the cake was awesome… way to go Lisa!! I totally recommend this place hands down. Kiss the cook lived up to all of my expectations!

Lisa did an amazing job on my boyfriends birthday cake. It tasted just as amazing as it looked. Thanks so much Lisa for designing a cake that we will never forget!

I am completely agog that I have not written a glowing review for this amazing baker yet. Lisa did my wedding cake some years ago and it was the prettiest and best tasting cake I think I have ever eaten. We were completely non-​traditional and had a chocolate cake with strawberries on it. Nom. My best friends also had their wedding cake done by Lisa. She is professional, more than happy to work with you to identify exactly what you want and what will fit your special event. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She really has the cooking creds too. Ask her where she studied.

Thank you so much for my son’s beautiful birthday cake. It exceeded my expectations. I’m very very picky and hard to please so I was worried that the cake I wanted in my mind would never actually come out the way I wanted it but Barbara was very helpful throughout the process and in the end I had the most beautiful football cake that looked even better than I expected. Thank you so much Lisa and Barbara, it was the most delicious cake I have EVER had and everyone at the party loved it as well. Will definitely come back for more.

I needed a very special 50^th anniversary cake for my parents — in 5 days! Lisa, the pastry chef, said she had 13 weddings on that weekend but since I didn’t need it until Sunday she would do it. She was wonderful to work with. Together we designed a classic 2-​tiered cake (inside and out) and I dropped off a topper the same day. On Sunday she delivered it at noon as she said. It was so beautiful and exactly what we had discussed. The flavors (the top was chocolate and the bottom was butter-​cream with raspberry filling) were fabulous — so rich and creamy. My parents were so surprised and so pleased. It made our at-​home dinner extra special. I can’t thank Lisa enough. She is wonderful! Don’t hesitate to hire her. (just don’t wait until the last minute)

Very delicious and beautiful cakes. And, they’ll work with you on cake design so you can do pretty much anything, in any flavor.
The cakes are very rich and the frosting is very sweet — which is good (considering pricing starts at $ 4 p/​person), but could weigh people down who would otherwise hit the dance floor.
The service is incredible — they’re so willing to work with what you want. Definitely a great option to go with, especially if you’re on the north side.
