It’s very, very bittersweet that there aren’t any Raising Cane’s in Indiana. Bitter because I’m so far away from the best fried fast food meal of my life, and sweet because I’m not 350 lbs from binge-eating there every day. Who would have thought that chicken fingers, food that screams«kids menu only», would taste so freakin’ good? And that Cane’s sauce… I could lick my container clean. Don’t snub this spot, foodies! Become a Caniac!

I was introduced to Cane’s a few years ago and honestly really enjoyed it, but wrote it off as my young son never really cared for chicken prepared this way. Not long ago, we found ourselves in east Houma and i decided to try an introduce my wee one to Cane’s. To my surprise he loved it, I suppose because it’s not your typical chicken mc-cutout. The menu is simple, chicken fingers or chicken finger… or…um chicken fingers, fries and a drink… some combos offer texas toast(which my son loves) and you can optionally purchase coleslaw(as a claw connoisseur, i thought Cane’s was quite nice). We have been to this location several times and on this trip became«Caniacs». We sat in the large picture window overlooking the main boulevard and I noticed the marquee, which mentioned fund raisers and becoming a Caniac. A Caniac is a preferred customer card, which will enter you into contests, notify you of special events and specials…

The menu mainly consists of fried chicken tenders along with fries, bread, and coleslaw. But despite this, everyone loves this place. All of the above are tasty, especially when combined with the Canes Sauce. Also, avoid the basic soft drinks and go for either the lemonade or the sweet tea. Canes makes fast food feel good.
