DoubleTree by Hilton Denver

This place is ok at best. The room I was in was spacious and clean but not worth the hefty price of $ 299/​night plus taxes and fees. They were full so, even though I have status, I was not put on the Hilton Honors floor. The view from my room was the top of a roof and the side of a building — and I was on the second floor. That was not as big of a deal since I was only here for one night.
The bathtub/​shower was worn and the plug for the bath was such that you stood in a few inches of water when you showered. Even when you remove it, the drain is slow. The king suite is very spacious but always by the elevator. They said, «trust me, you won’t hear a thing!» As I sat in my room that evening, I heard teens, kids and adults laughing and talking as they waited for the elevator and exited the elevator. Unfortunately you can’t say «hey, do you mind keeping it down» because the group changes every time someone enters or exits the floor.
On a positive note (and the reason why this hotel is getting three stars), the staff is wonderful. They are friendly and efficient. If you are coming to the area, I would recommend the Westin Westminster over this hotel.

One star is for the delicious cookies. The lobby is beautiful and well appointed. Unfortunately our room was not clean. It wasn’t just a housekeeping issue. The pungent smell of mildew hit us when we walked into our room. The room looked clean but, as the night wore on, the carpet seemed to take on a life of its own and foul odors rose from it. If dirty gym socks and rotten food had a baby it would smell like the room we were in. I couldn’t sleep from the odor and it didn’t help that there were bits of food, blue candies, a layer of dust, and a feather (seriously, a feather!) in the area between the nightstand and both beds. The side of the nightstand had splatter on it. Back to the carpet… it didn’t look disgusting it just SMELLED disgusting. I approached the front desk to speak to the GM and I was directed to the housekeeping manager. I walked her to the room. I got several, «Thank you and I’m sorry,» comments. The front desk offered me a bottle of water and cookies for my troubles. Next thing I knew, my husband marched back in held up the sign that reads, «We’ll make it right,» and insisted that the situation be fixed. I’m awarding a second star for the fact that after he called later in the day, we do believe the charges were reversed. He was told at the desk, that the manager would call him at 11:00 but he infact called the hotel at 3:00 since he felt he’d waited long enough. Had we not arrived so late in the evening, we would’ve requested a different room but, our children had already fallen asleep and it’s doubtful there was another room available. I exaggerate not, that the carpet odor kept me awake. My only relief was covering my face with a blanket from home.

Great location to get to Denver or Boulder. Facility in great shape and rooms are nice. Food was very good.

This place is strange. It looks like a castle. An old castle, it is clear this hotel has been here for quite some time. The front desk was very nice and friendly. The rooms were big, clean and definitely upgraded and not indicative of the exterior of this hotel.
The lobby is very nice, they do have a bar as well as a full service restaurant. There are plenty of places to sit and work or meet. I loved that there is a Starbucks sharing the same parking lot as well.

This hotel is a nightmare for those on business. They charge for everything for conference facilities. I was told that phones do not normally come with the conference room and that it would be extra. However I conceded and they brought in the phone but could not make the phone work as if it was a new space-​age technology. Internet is also a charge. There are two levels you can pay for, one that works, and one that doesn’t work.

Not especially happy w/​our stay! If you like being woke up early and bugged every half hour by housekeeping wanting to clean your room you will love the stay here.

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend while in town for a wedding. The hotel is easy to find off the highway, and there are plenty of other dining options in the area if you don’t want to eat their restaurant/​bar Radius.
The staff is friendly, and I had already checked in on my phone which means you just grab your keys at the front desk. We were up on the HHonors Members floor (there are 2 apparently — no idea what the difference is) and the room we had was nice. It was typical of a Doubletree with the standard style decoration and furniture. The bathroom was pretty small for a Doubletree, and it really reminded me of an older Holiday Inn.
Based on other Unilocal reviews, I’d only stay here with points and certainly not with my own money if I ever needed to come back. It’s pricey per night for what seems like a converted Holiday Inn that needs some renovations.
And the wi-​fi was soooooo slow… not usable.

Stayed here for a week. Hotel is very clean and services was great! Anytime we asked for extra towels or blankets we got them fast. Hotel lobby and hallways were always clean. Indoor pool was kept very nice with clean towels all day long. Beds are very comfy too! The bar has good drinks and isn’t priced very high. The only thing missing is a complimentary breakfast, we were surprised to see they didn’t offer one. The hotel has a breakfast if you want to pay $ 19. The hotel is in a very good location with everything you need close by.

This review is solely based on customer service and the hotel manager Pam.
Booked a king room for a week while on business and extended thru the weekend to make it a vacation. Upon arrival I got a warm cookie and a drink voucher from the bar. Polite girl checked me in.
Unfortunately, it was a busy week for the hotel. Hotel was filled with kids ages of 10 – 12 and they were really loud right outside my door all night long yelling and slamming their doors. I complained to the front desk and asked to be moved to the 4^th or 5^th floor, designated to Hhonor members, but they said they couldn’t do anything about it. My room felt tired and not very clean. My mistake was that I didn’t take my complain to the manager. My husband arrived on Thursday and talked to Pam. She upgraded us for the remainder of our stay and was apologetic. The new room looks much cleaner. Some businesses still know what customer service is!!!

This is a really great hotel. Very very clean & the rooms are updated nicely. All the staff I have interacted with were very nice & friendly. I’m somewhat of a «germaphobe» & this hotel was perfect. Only thing that I round like to have is maybe vending on the floors.

Nice facility and very attentive friendly staff. The castle event center (CEC) has great potential for a unique meeting/​party space. Direct highway access just minutes from all the action downtown. Warm fresh (free) chocolate chip cookies are a nice treat when checking in/​out or late night snack to satisfy that sugar fix.

For a business trip home-​away-​from-​home this was perfect. Good breakfast — fresh fruits and plenty of healthy options (eggs, omelettes, oatmeal, fruit). Plenty of bacon, sausage, gravy and biscuits too.
Great bar. Awesome happy hour. Cozy rooms — they have hypoallergenic rooms!
Walking distance to a heap of restaurants.
And …very affordable.
The 4 stars is for what it is.

I have been a Hilton Diamond for many years so I get to see all styles of Hilton properties.
This double tree has begun to change my opinion about double trees. I previously swore off double tree brands due to consistently poor stays. I decided to take a chance on this one recently. I was pleasantly surprised.
The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and fresh, the fridge worked perfectly, the little store had well stocked beverages and some snacks.
The housekeeping did an awesome job each day with the room and even did that little hand towel under my bathroom items.
The food from room service was very good I eat breakfast and dinner each day of the trip. The chicken mac and cheese was cheesy and pasta cooked perfectly. The bison burger was cooked well and seasoned just right.
Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, polite and helpful to make my stay amazing.
If all Double Tree locations where as good as this one they would win me back from the other Hilton brands!

Great hotel. Double Tree /​Hilton is doing a fine job since they took over. It’s quiet, clean, pleasant, and not overpriced. Hint: Odd numbered rooms are on the East Side, away from the highway. If you can, get one of those.
Breakfast food is fresh, well cooked, and they have a short order/​omelet bar, which is a nice touch.
Waitstaff was slow to fill/​refill coffee — they would hide for a long time, then come shooting out, seat new guests, and disappear again. Wouldn’t have been an issue, but the coffee cups are tiny, and I like a lot of coffee in the morning. I finally took a carafe from the counter.

This is a review for Radius Bar inside the Double Tree.
Our waitress was great. She was funny and charming. She’s the reason I’m giving three stars and not fewer.
It was the wait time for our food that was nuts. We got our beers pretty quickly, but waited over an hour for a burger, a flat bread, and a macaroni and cheese dish. We almost left to go to a place across the steer. The restaurant wasn’t even remotely full, and that was the wait. The food, while decent, wasn’t worth the wait.
After dinner, we risked more time and ordered dessert: the caramel cheese cake. We paid $ 7 for a slice 1.5 inches across at the wide end and 3 inches long. It was tiny. Other restaurants have similar desserts twice the size, that are cheaper and taste better. I was a little disappointed. With all the great food in the area, I won’t likely go bad.

got a room last minute. They gave us cookies at check in. That was a nice touch. The hotel is very nice. The rooms are ok size but the bathrooms are really small. $ 180.00 was the cost. NO comp breakfast, and we were never asked if we would like that option included with our room. When I asked how much the breakfast was, it was 16 bucks per person for the buffet. **OUCH! Hello, … we are in Thornton, CO. for gods sake, … not friggin Hawaii. The value here is NOT good. For 180 bucks I would have expected better. I would NOT recommend this Hotel unless you are desperate. There are a lot of other choices here that have much better value that are just as nice.

Honestly, this is a beautiful hotel, and the staff is incredibly friendly, but I believe in getting what you pay for, and I feel ths property is overpriced for what you get.
To be fair, I had to make an emergency reservation due to construction gong on in my house over the weekend, and I chose Doubletree because we’re fans of Hilton. I ad no problem booking a room with two queens, but when we saw the room, it was awfully cramped for the amount of furniture crammed in there.
We loved the hot cookies at arrival but were bummed to see no breakfast included, the limited choices for room service, the prices at the restaurant and the sad state of the ‘on site convenience store’ Doubletree is known for.
The beds were super comfy and we loved the Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries! But very few options for cable channels and a LOT of hallway and through the wall noise!!! and, I think their wifi gets overloaded at night as I couldn’t seem to get Netflix or iHeart Radio to function after 9pm.
Should we find ourselves needing a hotel in the future, while the Doubletree is nice, I’d rather stretch my dollar further and stay somewhere with better perks. You get the Hilton name at this property, but that’s about it!

This is not a review of the hotel but of the Radius Bar and Grill which may also be known as the Radius Lounge. My wife and I live in the area and dine out 2 – 3 times per week. Last night we decided to try the Radius Bar and Grill for the first time. The actual restaurant was closed on a Friday night during peak holiday season. That should have told us something. We had to eat in the bar. We had no problem with that.
The bartender was the only server, but my wife and I made up half of the clientele in the bar at the time. She brought us our drinks (water and Diet Coke to start). Then we waited about 20 minutes for her to return to get our dinner orders. Now let me explain that the bar is only about 400 square feet and she was there the entire time within ten feet of us… BUT SHE SPENT THE WHOLE TIME TALKING TO THE TWO OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE BAR AND IGNORED US.
Our menus were closed, we were staring at her, and I even tried to get her attention. If she had been roped into a conversation that she could not get out of, I would merely say she is not very good at being polite yet appropriately curt with customers. But NO, she was starting up NEW conversations with them and completely disregarded the only other table of customers in the place! I told her that we were very hungry and tired of waiting so we left.
I drive for a local taxi service part-​time and get a lot of requests for places to stay and eat. I will be steering customers AWAY from the Doubletree Hotel in Northglenn. If this is the level of unprofessionalism that the management allows in one area of their business, I can only assume that the level of professionalism and leadership is just as lax elsewhere. There are plenty of places around where people spending good money can get better respect and service than the Doubletree and Radius Bar and Grill. I expected much more from a hotel chain with a reputation for excellent customer service.

I’ve stayed at this property one other time for business. It is a very clean and updated hotel. Nice little bar with a great patio where you can sit around several different fire pits. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Quiet hotel. My only complaint is the restaurant food specifically the morning breakfast buffet. For the quality it should be included with every room. However the $ 16.99 charge otherwise is overpriced and over valued. The food was just not very good. Beyond the food the hotel itself is a nice place to come back to after a long day of work.

Signs outside boast «Now Open» and «Grand Opening»… however upon asking the front desk they advise that this property just changed hands 3 mos ago to become a Doubletree.
So far, no complaints… :)

My room is facing the freeway — that may be a bit too loud. But I’m so exhausted, I doubt I’ll hear it tonight.
The inside of this property definitely «shows well». You can tell it’s newer.
I asked «what’s up with the castle theme?». And appararently this property has changed hands several times over the years. But Hilton has done the most with the property to make it look «less-​Castle like».
Comfy beds! And always … a good cookie!
