A1 Carpet

Thanks to Alex, Kevin, and the whole A-​1 Carpet crew for our new flooring. The quality is great and the installers did a first class job.

After meeting Alex, I knew I would buy my carpet from A1 Carpet. I continued to shop around and found a lower price (only $ 30) on the exact same carpet install, but returned to A1 because of the confidence I had in Alex.
What a bonehead I am! I wrote the wrong install date on the work order!
I stripped the rooms on Sunday for my Monday install and took the day off from work.
Then I waited and waited. No installers showed up. Finally I called Alex and he informed me the install was scheduled for Thursday! Totally my error.
My wife is going to kill me! The house a shambles with all the furniture and closet contents from the two rooms and us sleeping in the living room, not good.
Alex to the rescue! He was able to reschedule me for the next morning, Tuesday.
Marino, the installer, and his helper showed up on time and did a great job on the install.

Impressive customer service! They pride themselves on delivering great customer care and it starts from the moment you walk in the store. We did new carpet in the whole house (including a rather complicated stairway) and it was not without a couple of minor snags, but Alex took care of us like family. Great price, on time installation, attention to detail and always available. We could not have had a better experience.

A-​1 carpet and flooring lives up to their name. Their customer service is nothing short of an A and this is coming from a teacher! I highly recommend this store and all the staff. Our needs were met and we now have wonderful new hardwood and carpeted floors in our new house and are truly happy! Thank you Alex and all the wonderful staff at A-​1 carpet.

The same day I called, Alex came with samples, measured and 2 days later they came to install the carpet in the master bedroom. Marina and Emmet had to move several large pieces of furniture. Everything was done with a smile and efficiency, and no damage.
It was the best carpet installation I have had over many years.

A1 Carpets and Flooring just completed installing 3500 square feet of wood flooring and 3000 square feet of carpet in my home. We were moving into our new house and we contacted A1 Carpets last minute at the recommendation of our real estate agent. We wanted the old carpets replaced with wood floors in the 4 bedrooms immediately before we moved our furniture in. We also wanted them to match the existing wood floors in the living room exactly. Alex and his team were able to match the wood floors exactly and they were able to do it in one weekend. The new wood floors look great.

Overall we had a good experience. RJ was very courteous and they did a great job on the install. My only two tiny annoyances were a delay in getting the carpet to our new house (due to bad weather on where the carpet was shipping from) and while I didn’t make a specific request, the installer didn’t tighten up the subfloor under the carpet so we have a few creaks.

A1 Carpet is great because Kevin and Alex really take care of you. There was an issue with our order of hardwood flooring and Kevin and Alex did everything they could to make sure it was corrected. If you’re going to buy flooring in Thousand Oaks, look no further than A1, and you’ll be taken care of and given the best price possible.
Buying, ordering, and installing flooring can be difficult and stressful, but go to A1 and it’ll be easier much easier.

I have actually reviewed this place with4 stars but not sure why does it show only 3 stars.
My husband ordered carpet from them rather than Home Depot so that we would get it in 10 days rather than ¹⁴⁄₁₅. Turned out that they actually delivered in 15 days. As we had scheduled everything (wooden floors downstairs, painting, appliances, handyman) so that the carpet was last and before the final cleaning the day before our move date, this screwed up things. Oh and I am a few weeks from delivering a baby, we are under an incredible time pressure and we need to have everything super clean. As the people that lived in the house before us had lived there for 30+ years, the carpet HAD to be changed before we moved in (mind you, carpet was everywhere including bathrooms). So we had the cleaning crew clean the carpet extensively for 2 hours and then had somebody put plastic all over it. This costed $ 200 which A1 discounted from the last payment. After I takes to them on the phone and asked for the discount, they called my husband and asked him if instead of $ 200 dollars discount he would rather have the extra cushion.
Overall the carpet looks very nice, but we specifically went to this place as they could deliver it in 10 days and this was not the case, so, regardless of all the unexpected situations that can happen with ports, and moving material, they did not deliver as requested, instead of Friday we got our carpet the following Wednesday. To me this is not acceptable.

Worked with RJ on two separate occasions for flooring upgrades to our home. He was very helpful and was able to provide many options to work with my budget when many other places couldn’t. We did carpet upgrade on our stairs and on two occasions did really dark laminate wood upstairs and downstairs. Install was quality and turnaround was quick. Highly recommend. Will use again for future needs and will most definitely recommend with full confidence!

Re-​carpeted our house about a year ago. We also got new vinyl in a bathroom. Travis was very helpful in helping us pick out carpet and getting installation scheduled.
Installation happened about a week after we placed our order. It took less than a day for 1,200 feet of carpet plus vinyl to be installed. They made one mistake where they forgot to cut out a piece of carpet for the gas valve for fireplace. But we called and they sent somebody to fix it within a few days.
