History

Established in 1998.

After graduating from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1993, I was an associate dentist for practices in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. I opened my own family dental practice, Conejo Family Dental, in 1998 and have served the local communities since that time. I make it a point to attend a minimum of 100 continuing education hours each year so that I can stay abreast of the newest and best methods and materials that are available to modern dentistry.

I have chosen staff who are warm, attentive and caring individuals. We understand how difficult it may be for some patients to overcome a fear of the dentist and we provide treatment in a calm, relaxed and nonjudgemental setting.

We treat our patients as we would our own family members and we will always give you an honest assessment of your dental needs. We will work with you to make treatment fit your particular life situation and make it affordable as well.

Dr. Roth is a native Californian and was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. Upon graduating from Agoura High School in 1976, Dr. Roth left for Israel where he studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, lived on a kibbutz and served in the Israel Defense Forces. He met his wife in Israel and in 1984 he and his family returned to Southern California.

Dr. Roth completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at California State University at Northridge in 1989 and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UCLA in 1993.

Our family has been seeing Dr. Roth for at least 10 years. We totally trust his opinions and his work. We have had crowns, fillings, cleanings, etc. He does not try to upsell Invisalign and other cosmetic procedures. In fact I asked about Invisalign and he told me I was not a candidate for it all. I have heard stories from friends about their dentists pushing these procedures. He always explains everything beforehand and while he is working on your teeth. Highly recommended.

I have been a patient of Dr. Roth for many years. He explains things well and I trust him implicitly. A few years ago I had a horribly painful tooth– he called in a prescription for pain medication at my pharmacy and saw me on his day off. Glad to report it didn’t end up being anything but I’m grateful that I have a dentist on whom I can rely.

I have been going to Dr. Roth for many years now, and I can tell you he has helped rid me of my dental phobia! He is very pleasant and laid back, and recommends what he feels is needed to prevent any further gum or teeth problems. When performing any procedure that requires numbing, he explains EXACTLY what you are going to feel before he does it, will stop if you signal him to do so, and provides a relaxing and friendly environment in general. The staff is also very friendly, and the hygienist is very knowledgeable and thorough, and believe me, I have had BAD experiences with other hygienists in my past (which contributed to my «dental phobia»). I don’t know what the other bad reviews were all about, but I think Dr. Roth is VERY ethical and reasonably priced. The thing is, if you don’t take care of your teeth and gums regularly at home, you can expect to have dental issues at some point. So, perhaps the bad reviewers had previously failed to take good care of their teeth and are now suffering the consequences!

Very much like another review on this site, my family and I had the exact same experience. The doctor is nice enough, but is basically a crook. We are new to the area. My wife made an appointment to see the doctor. He recommended over 4000 dollars worth of work. He had zero concern for our out of pocket expenses as he could have easily spread the work into the next calendar year and had our insurance pay another 1500 dollars of the bill. He cares only about making a fast buck with zero concern for the patient. We are only dollar signs. Even worse, after my wife went and spent 4000 dollars, her teeth continue to hurt. Our son went in for an exam, and once again he recommended 4000 dollars worth of dental work.
We took our son to another dentist who said my son had only one cavity (not the 6 cavities DR Roth said he had) and didn’t need the deep cleaning or crowns Dr Roth said he «needed right away». Our new dentist charged us 140 dollars and my said my sons teeth and gums were very healthy.
All I can say is STAY AWAY!!! He is not a good dentist and is a crook besides.
There are plenty of good and ethical dentists out there that actually care about their patients.

I think Dr. Roth is a good dentist. He works hard and is pleasant to deal with.
His staff is the BEST. I had a lot of dental work done over the span of two years. I was not pressured into it. I had asked him about some stuff that I thought I may need, and he told me no – so I do not think he is unethical like another reviewer said.
He is gentle and very professional.

Dr. Roth is awesome. I have to admit, I am not the type of person that looks forward to going to the dentist, but when it comes to Dr. Roth it has always been a very pleasant experience. I have been a patient for about 7 years now and I can’t find a better dentist. Dr. Roth has an incredible competent, friendly and professional staff. When I visited another dental facility for my root canal procedure, everyone knew of Dr. Roth and told me I was very fortunate to have him as my dentist, even within the dental profession he is well recognized.

‘ll make a very, very long story short.
I found these guys on Unilocal.I was looking for a good dentist because my crown came out.
The best advice I can give is «STAY AWAY!»
Dr. Roth. This dentist is friendly but very unethical. He charges for work that does not need to be done. And how do we know… right? … Because we aren’t the pros.
I’ve had two other opinions which saved me a whole lot of grief and over 4,000.00 + of «unnecessary dental work!
They also will try and reel you back with their «free» dental x-rays and exam.
Also they kept calling me back to find out if I was going to do a follow up with them.

I see Dr. Roth or the hygienist every 3 months and not only do they provide great service for my teeth, but everyone, including the front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. They are very proactive and informative, working with me to find appointment times that work for me, talking with me about issues or my concerns and showing or telling me what I need to do to maintain my healthy smile!
One of my main issues and concerns is gum care and Dr. Roth has always seemed incredibly knowledgeable about this and utilizes laser gum treatment among his many other services and treatments. He keeps not only himself but his staff up to date and educated on new equipment and procedures. I have been going to him for many years now and have always been happy and satisfied with their service. I highly recommend Conejo Family Dental and Dr. Roth!
