History

Established in 2000.

DoughMain Smoke Shop opened on 1 April, 2000 — the first store of its kind (in over 20 years) in ALL of Ventura County. Locally owned and operated for over 14 years now.

DoughMain Records was a branch that has come to see our first recording artist (Insurgence) become very successful; AWOLNATION.

With so much history in the Conejo Valley, DoughMain has become a land-​mark.

Walked into the shop and was instantly pleased with the floor layout. Not the biggest store but they had an amazing selection of glass. Very reasonable prices for all of their name brands like Grav Labs and HVY. Had a great conversation with the store manager about the history of how glass has changed over the years and on the new techniques that are used for blowing glass that incorporates classic art designs like that on the HVY models. I would highly recommend this store to anyone who is looking for a great shopping experience for whatever your needs may be!

Very unprofessional. Staff like to act like they know everything and belittle customers who aren’t as knowledgable. The manager was stoned out of his mind and was slurring his speech and staring at the ceiling.

Definitely the headiest shop in town. Prices are a hit or miss some glass is way overpriced while some off the small accessories are average priced. The staff is always friendly and pretty knowledgeable. My only issue is if wildside down the street offers the same thing, wildside will always give out a great deal when Doughmain will be stiff on price. I rather pay less for the same when it comes to things like China Quartz.

Bought my first heavy glass water pipe here around 9 years ago, and just bought another one last night.

Doughmain is one of the best smoke shops I have been to since my trip to the Haight Ashbury District of San Francisco. I asked for help finding a replacement downstem for a water pipe I had purchased from them a while back and without even hesitating the guy behind the counter (sorry I forgot his name) promptly found the replacement and asked if I had the pipe on me so he could fit it then and there. When he was finished doing that, I tried to give him a tip and he refused. I work in customer service and that is what keeps people coming back. Always nice to see someone who enjoys their job helping you out. Since I wasnt able to give him a tip, Ill be back to buy more to make up for it!

Ok, the good part, open til 10 on sunday. Crappy part, bought a bowl for a water pipe in there and it was the wrong size on Sunday went back today, Tuesday, and the same guy who sold it to me would not exchange it for the correct size. Claimed I could have used it and cleaned it and he doesn’t remember me. I’m sure I can guess why he doesn’t remember me…
Well I didn’t use it and clean it and I’m going to make sure to not recommend this place to anyone. Learn customer service, your refusal to exchange a $ 12 piece will cost you a few hundred dollars a year in sales.
Perhaps their «no exchanges» policy works great for them. However, I was not informed that once I bought this piece that was it. There was no sign and the sales person told me that the bowl I was getting was a standard size. Maybe he should have taken the time to inform me to make the correct choice and not push me into a sale. Oh well, looks like I will be getting the correct size at Dementia.

Great selection — Best in the area that I’ve found. The staff actually knows what they’re talking about and don’t pressure you into buying anything, but will still show you new, interesting products. They have a good selection of smoking accessories, incense, glass, and the usual smoke shop items (flasks, torches, salvia, etc.)
The prices are what you’d expect. It’s a smoke shop. If you’re not pinching pennies, the experience is worth the premium. After moving to the area ~6 months ago and trying a few local shops, I made Doughmain’s my go-​to shop.
