First time appointment after a 5 day stay at the big white hotel in early December. Referred by one of my doctors he is regarded as the go to guy. No nonsense with compassion. Katie called yesterday saying they had a cancellation so I was able to get in 5 weeks early. I told her I loved her in the most professional way. Great staff. Lots of smiles. Dr Label took his time, not rushed, very thorough and extensive examination including looking at my records from the hospital and addressed all my concerns in an easy to understand way. He listened. He reassured my wife. I got a little weepy as this has been an emotional time of my life. He smiled and offered a box of tissues. It really was a wonderful visit.

I gave one star because at least he was present. Dr. Label seems educated, and has knowledge in his field. With that said, he lacked compassion, and his bed side manner is awful. My daughter had sudden onset of seizures and we were sent to him through our insurance carrier. Label did all the usual tests and tried many medications to no avail. Since he was unable to help her, he finally concluded that she must be faking it. The accusation that my daughter wanted attention and faked seizures still shocks me. If anyone has ever seen a full blown terrifying seizure and the fear it instills in your child and others who have witnessed one, you would never even suggest such a stupid thing! We since went to UCLA Hospital itself and found a doctor who suggested a medication that worked. Label should be ashamed of himself. He’s out of date and utterly emotionless. Time to retire…

My husband has been to see Dr. Label three times now and i have gone with him each time. I kind of think these bad reviews are overly senstive people or expect royal treatment. I don’t know. We have never had a problem with the front staff, billing, waiting, or with the dr. himself. He has been very thorough, polite and even funny. He does want to stick to the issue at hand and i don’t blame him. Anyhow he’s just fine and very well respected in the local medical community.

He is very good for a medical diagnosis (mine was adult ADD) but absolutely horrific for all else. His bedside manner is awful, he never smiled in the four visits I had to his office. He never acknowledged my wife (such as hello!). He seemed disinterested in explaining to me the standard deviation on my tests and took no interest in understanding my concerns except to tell me he was only interested from a medical standpoint. If being rude was not enough, this sterling doctor could not even offer me an explanation why my brain scan showed no spikes even though all others had (I have epilepsy).
I wish he had been taught some manners and was as interested in his behavior as he was in collecting his money.
There are plenty of good caring doctors available, avoid this one!

So I just had my first visit with Dr. Label. I was a little put off by seeing these negative reviews, but the fact that he took the time to respond to them (no matter how late in the game) really speaks to his character, and so I went ahead and kept the appointment. As someone with many chronic issues, I have a lot of experience as a patient, and I can tell you that it really and truly is rare for a doctor to actually LISTEN to what a patient needs to say. Dr. Label sat with me, talked with me instead of at me, and reassured me that he genuinely understood my issues, what I felt comfortable with treatment-​wise, and he was generally quite pleasant to work with. For that kind of care, I’m willing to wait.
Sometimes, doctors fall behind in their schedule and yes it is inconvenient and frustrating, but this was mitigated by the fact that he spent just as much time with me during my appointment as he did the patients before me. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that emergencies can’t be planned, and that I should open my schedule up an hour and a half after my appointment time just in case a physician is running behind, because hey, life happens.

Just to express more displeasure with lorne he tried to work it out with me 1 month after, this is consistant to the other complaints against him that seem to be replied months and or years after they complained. He is awful pass it along.

Dr. Label has the worst bedside manners. He always seems rushed. My son was diagnosed with ADD by him. Rather than explaining all of my options to treat him, he immediately wanted to write a prescription. These doctors should be open and explain alternative options as well. He immediately dismissed alternative treatments as ineffective and seemed extremely annoyed that I even mentioned it. What a waste of time.

Had a series of acupuncture sessions with Dr Lorne Label. Too much exercise can be a bad thing sometimes on an old body. I was skeptical about acupuncture but a friend convinced me to give it a try and as far as I’m concerned it works. The additional bonus is that Dr Label related his workout routine and was able to provide guidance on how to properly warm up, workout and then stretch afterwards.

im pretty sure dr label is the only md who administers acupuncture in the conejo valley. treatments are about 30 – 45 minutes and it ranges from about $ 75-​$ 115 (if he uses electro-​stimulation). insurance is not billed but they provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company on your own. i could not keep up with the treatments but did not feel any different after about three sessions.
he is notoriously and unapologetically late. for my first appointment, an hour passed before i was even in the exam room. he spent less than 10 minutes with me total but the entire time i was in his office was over two hours! monica, the receptionist, is really polite and understanding about his tardiness, though.
