I love hobby stores. It brings me back to my childhood. I love going to here because it has a great selection. Prices can be high but you get what you pay for. This shop has everything. When I am in town this is a location I always try and stop at. My kids have all grown up here and it has given us many quality hours of bonding time. Wonderful store and great service. Thank you.

I have been going to Marty’s Hobbies for the last 25 years and I can’t think of a better place to shop for all my hobby needs. The shop has made changes over the years and all for the best for customer experience along with great value. I have gone to many other places in the greater LA area and online, but none come close to Marty’s. This shop has all the latest planes, helicopters, cars, trucks, and trains as well, all the train accessories to go with them. They even have a good selection of plastic model kits. If you don’t see what you want or need, they will get it for you even faster than buying online, and at a great price. They always make sure you get what you ordered.
Glenn and all the staff make it real easy to buy the things you want or need. Danny, Spencer, Mike, Gary and Sean, to name a few, are the best people to talk to regarding the hobby. These guys are highly motivated and have a great passion for what they do; it makes you want to come back and try new things. Not only do they know the hobby business, they will even help you with those who are inventers and with the science projects our children get in school.
They are very safety conscious when it comes to nitro and electric driven vehicles. They will spend as much time helping you understand the in’s and out’s, the do’s and don’ts to make it fun but safe. By far Glenn the owner has the best staff of guys in the hobby business. Your money is well spent, and you will always know you are getting the best deal around. Web shopping is great, but you can’t get the level of service Marty’s has to offer.
Set your imagination free; give this hobby shop all your attention and you will walk out feeling the awe and wonder of it all, like a kid again.

Still the classic hobby shop it was 20 years ago. These guys know their stuff and wont steer you wrong. I just bought the Phoenix flight simulator and im so happy with it.

A hobby shop like you remember as a kid. That’s Marty’s.
You’ll find all things RC: airplanes, helos, cars. Kits and RTFs. Trains of all sorts. Accessories galore. Radios, batteries, glues. Even some old school plastic models. If they don’t have it, they’ll order it for you.
The best part is, the staff is friendly and knowledgable, eager to help.
Prices are standard with some limited discounting, but this type of store is a dying breed, and I try to support them whenever I can. It’s great to have Marty’s nearby.

Love this place.
Was a frequent drooler when I lived in T.O. about 7 years ago. The shop has lots of inventory, magazines, etc. It also has cool things hanging from the ceiling and ideas of how cool each of the different hobbies can be. It would be easy to leave your paycheck here. Staff is very knowledgeable about all the different toys too.

I recently purchased my first Nitro Car from Marty’s hobbies. Although there were a few mixups in the beginning, the friendly and knowledgeable staff was beyond helpful. They spent several hours helping me get my car up and running. They also got me addicted to RC Helicopters and have been helping me expand my fleet as my skill increases. I will recommend Marty’s to all of my friends.

This place is an awesome hobby store! My son has been wanting remote control vehicles for a while. Last year, on a whim, my husband and I bought him a remote control helicopter from the state fair. Unfortunately, we didn’t know that remote control thingies tend to break from use, especially from an 7 yo boy. We found out that parts were not available from purchases such as ours because they weren’t purchased from a reliable hobby store. Lesson learned…
This Christmas we headed for Marty’s Hobbies and it was the best decision. We were clueless on what to purchase our son and Glenn, the owner, walked us through it. Besides remote control stuff, there’s lots of fun things to look at. In addition to the large remote cars, we found smaller, stocking stuffer items, and rockets! I always wanted to launch a rocket with my son but was confused on how to actually accomplish this. So Glenn walked me through it and now I can’t wait ’til it launches!

I have visited Marty’s for over 25 years. Bought LGB trains, electric airplanes and recently got a gift of Blade helicopter. My wife bought it and could not stop talking about how nice the guys are and helpful. I love the Blade MCX2, and of course, learning to fly means mishaps. Went to Marty’s and they got me set with spare parts and even checked out the helicopter.
Marty’s is the kind of place where the people are real enthusiasts. Come in with a problem and they really want to fix it. And they don’t do hard sell tactics. They understand that if I have a little helicopter today, I will probably buy a bigger one in the future. And I guarantee when I do it will be from Marty’s.
By the way, when searching for parts, I came across a lot of online stores. Marty’s prices are right in line with the online stores, so you are not overpaying for service.

One of the last (if not THE last for r/​c) of the old school hobby shops in the area. Walk in and you’re immediately greeted with planes hanging from the ceiling and numerous other products on the shelves and stacked on the floor. This is the way hobby shops used to be and should be. Hobby People and the other big chains are cool for those that are simply «interested» in the hobby; but if you’re in deep or just want to experience it, go to Marty’s. Talk to the knowledgeable staff if you have questions or want opinions, grab what you need and pay, or «ooh» and «ahh» over all the cool things that could be yours (but probably shouldn’t be — that would be unhealthy) This place is cool, they will ask you if need help, but don’t mind if you just browse. Every once in a while I go in to use the flight simulator during lunch to get more comfortable with flying helis before I take the plunge and buy the real thing!
Oh, one more thing… If they don’t stock it, they can almost always order it for you. They also match prices — don’t be afraid to ask

I have been in and out of RC hobbies for about 25 years, and Marty’s is the first place where I feel like the same people are there behin the counter every time, and they really know their stuff. especially on helicopters, and that is hard to find! They have made a couple of great recommendations for me and they have all world out perfect. They have great customer service since they got several parts replaced for me from the manufacturer that I thought I was just going to have to buy. Really great guys, good prices and great selection. Highly recommend them.

As I finished a hike near my home, I saw a remote controlled airplane zipping through the air — I needed to investigate. When I finally tracked down the guy holding the remote controller, he told me about this great rc plane that he picked up at Marty’s Hobbies in Thousand Oaks. He explained how easy and inexpensive it was to replace parts (or even the entire body) on this specific model. I was in. Heading to Marty’s had just became my first priority.
Doing a search for Marty’s Hobby’s in Google brought me to their home page — which looks like it was designed using Microsoft Publisher in 1998. I struggled trying to find the address and/​or hours of operation to no avail– so I called… and got a voicemail. Not just a voicemail, but a full voicemail. (talk about adding insult to injury) So, I waited until later that day and called again — finding out that they were open until 5pm on Sundays.
So my –1 star comes from their horrible web presence and inability to find the simplest things — location and hours of operation. Other than that, my experience with Marty’s Hobbies was excellent.
I went in with that specific rc plane in mind — I could just count the minutes until I would be soaring with the birds. The sales person, who was helping someone else balance the rotors on his rc helicopter — took a second to show me where the model was and explain a few things about it.
Then he asked a critical question — «have you every flown an rc plane with ailerons?» My puzzled look probably clued him in as he quickly ushered me over to a simulator that is set up in the shop. He explained how this specific plane is controlled and started me on a very realistic demo with the exact plane that I was about to purchase.
After 2 – 3 hard crashes, I realized that without being condescending or bossy, he had let me realize on my own that I needed to practice on a simulator. A few rug rats were pulling at my shirt and wanted their turn on the simulator, so I grabbed the PC version to continue my flight simulation at home.
Again, the in store staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Their prices were in line with what I saw online as well. Now if they would only update their website!

Marty’s Hobbies has been in the Park Oaks shopping plaza since I can remember. I don’t see Marty there anymore but the rest of the staff is very helpful and fairly knowledgeable. They have people on staff that specialize in a number of hobbies, including trains, RC cars, helicopters, planes and modeling. They have a pretty good inventory of RC stuff, for both gas and electric powered RC cars (my current obsession). They can even tune up your car for you for $ 25.
Prices are competitive and they’ll even match Internet prices on new merchandise if you reference the advertisement. I’ve seen used RC equipment (cars, etc) there as well so I think they either take stuff on consignment or they buy and trade.
