Pro Camera Service

Borrowed a friend’s camera for a recent trip and discovered, to my horror, that I had hit it against a rock, which caused the outer lens to crack. I took the camera to Pro Camera Repair and while I waited they advised me that the outer filter was cracked and replaced it with a new one. The service was prompt and the bill very reasonable. I highly recommend them.

I want to thank the guys at Pro Camera Service for fixing my Canon 70D. I dropped my camera off because the plate that has all the camera modes fell off. I still had the plate, it just needed to be reattached. Unfortunately the fix for this is to replace the entire dial, which is pretty costly considering the camera works perfectly fine, it’s just annoying not having the little icons on the dial. Thankfully, Wayne suggested to try and glue it back on first (with no charge), and if that doesn’t hold up to then bring it back and they will replace the dial. I have since taken my camera to New York and Hawaii and the glue fix has held up perfectly! I really appreciate them doing the free fix for me rather than taking my money and going the expensive route, since it obviously wasn’t necessary. If my camera does ever need some maintenance or a fix I will without any hesitation bring it back here!
Everyone I dealt with was pleasant to deal with. When I dropped off my camera I was told someone would call me the next day. A day did go by without me hearing from them, but when I called them the following day they got right to my camera and had it ready for me later that same day. Thanks! :)

I’m an outdoor/​adventure photographer and videographer meaning I am harder on all of my equipment more than most people. This repair shop is awesome! I’ve had cracked screens, lenses, and camera bodies repaired here! Every time I am beyond pleased with the quality of the work! Their turnover rate is fast (depending if the parts they need are easily accessible) which has ranged from 3 days to 2 weeks.
I’ve had them look over equipment, fix it while I was in the shop and didn’t get charged because the repair took 5 minutes. Though I wouldn’t ever expect it, I respect a business who knows when or not to take a piece of equipment in for repair. My equipment is my source of income so everyday a piece is in the shop, there is a potential for me losing money.
I really like this business and would not go anywhere else at all.

disappointment on all aspects, Wayne is just a big liar, I took my canon 60d to get fix and they called me a week after with a estimate… I approve it and they took almost 2 weeks and I called to see what was going on Wayne said they had send it to canon, with out my authorization and I had to wait 2 more weeks, then Wayne call me again and said it was going to cost more to fix it $ 650 or so, the original price Wayne gave me was $ 225 and it’s just very nasty company with Wayne talking a lot and just making stuff up, big liar… finally I pick up my camera it’s was not fix since they price to fix it is more then what the camera cost, I don’t Recomend this guys at all, I waited almost 2 months nothing got done and Wayne didn’t even apologize. Guy it’s very unprofessional.

I brought my Nikon D90 camera to Pro Camera Service and the service was beyond excellent!
I had dropped my camera bag, which caused my Nikon’s lens to snap off from the body. After reading online reviews of various camera shops in California, I noticed Pro Camera Service had the best reviews. So, I drove about an hour from where I am staying (I am currently on vacation in California) even though there were other camera repair shops much closer to me.
I am so glad Pro Camera Service’s positive reviews were accurate. I was greeted by Wayne who knew immediately the solution to my problem. He also explained in detail what happened to my camera (i.e. which pieces came off) and mentioned immediately the price of the repair, both of which I appreciated. He said that the repair would take about two weeks. However, when I mentioned that I was only in California for five more days, he said he could repair the camera within four days. I received a call the day after I left my camera with Pro Camera Service and Wayne said my camera was ready — even better! I highly recommend Pro Camera Service for their professionalism and punctuality!

I was in a pinch. It was only day two of my vacation and my lens wasn’t working. I don’t live in Simi Valley and our next stop was Bakersfield, then Sequoia National Park. We were supposed to leave that day. I checked Unilocal and then headed to Pro Camera Service as soon as they opened. I explained to Wayne that my Tokina 12 – 24 wasn’t functioning correctly and I could hear screws rattling inside. Wayne told me the normal turn around is two weeks. I told him that I was from out of town and desperate and that where I was going there was no camera repair shops. I was crushed because I had been waiting to shoot photos in Seqoia for so long.
Wayne told me to leave my lens and come back in an hour.
One hour and a measely 45 dollars later my family and I were on the road again and my lens was as good as new! I took some great photos that trip and it was because Wayne was cool.

I was having a problem with the focus on my Sony NEX5 camera and after having read the positive reviews on Pro Camera Service, decided to stop in. When I first arrived a man came out from the back and wasn’t exactly Mr. Friendly. Once I explained the focus problem and told him I wasn’t exactly the most camera-​savvy person out there, he seemed to get a bit friendlier. He took at look at the camera, changed a couple of settings, explained some camera stuff to me and the focus issue was resolved. He wouldn’t take any money which was very nice of him. I would definitely go back if I were to have any camera issues in the future.

I’ve been going to Pro Camera for years. Wayne is awesome and his employees are top notch. They are no-​frills but get the job done, and get it done right. They’ve serviced my Nikon film cameras and my digitals, and now my medium format Contax. Wayne is the go-​to guy on the West Coast for Contax/​Zeiss. I can’t say enough good stuff about them!

I’ve taken my nikon equipment to these guys for a few years now. They know their stuff in order to get the job done right. Case in point. I took my nikon 80−200mm 2.8 lens into them this morning cause the zoom and focus seemed to be real loose. Wayne looked at it and said it was missing a couple of small specialty screws and he’d try to find some to repair it. He called me back a couple of hours later, on the same day. to tell me it was fixed and there was no charge! Wayne and his group are dependable and honest. Wouldn’t deal with anyone else when it comes to my nikon repairs.

I wish I could give 0 starts to this place if I could. Brought my Nikon camera all the way from Los Angeles. When I picked up the camera it seemed like it really wasn’t repaired but it was better than it was before I brought it. Took it home noticed it wasn’t fixed. I brought it again and they repaired it again supposedly. Now after spending time and gas and going back and fourth 3 times its still not repaired after paying almost $ 300. Stay away from this place and only bring your sensitive camera gear to a place that has great reviews. Trust me

Took my Canon Speedlight for repair last week and a few days later, a gentleman called me and told me that there’s nothing wrong with my Speedlight. I picked it up a couple of days later and they did not charge me a dime. I knew something was wrong with it and somehow, I got it back working! I am very happy with Pro Camera Service for being honest and I high recommend them and I will definitely call them again for service.

Very friendly service. Showed me how to use my camera and helped me find a good deal on a discontinued lens for my camera on ebay!

Wayne does a fantastic job on repairs, I have had a lens and my sensor cleaned here both came back in fantastic condition, he really knows how to handle this equipment! I am always treated with respect and helped as soon as I walk in. Wayne knows what he is doing. Don’t hesitate to visit his store!!!

Wayne and his crew are best. I emailed them for a price first. Wayne called m e back within 2 hours. I just needed my rubber grips on the d700 replaced. While it was there, I had it serviced and sensor cleaned. Wayne gave me a great price. Told me be done in 10 – 14 days (had a 3 day weekend in there) Called me back in 12 days and told me it was shipping out. Highly recommend!!! My other gear will be going down shortly when i get a break!!!

Came here to have my D300s sensor cleaned. I needed to be done in less than 12h. They agreed on it whereas no other shop would. Eventually they’ve met their promise and with no extra charge.
Great job! I will come back and recommend this place even though it’s kind of far from where I live.

First rate service and pricing. Knowledgable owner. Pleasant. Fixed my Nikon digital within a few days. When I went to a nearby competitor they tried to sell me anew camera, said mine wan’t worth fixing. This guy fixed it andit’s working as good as new.

They seem competent on digital equipment. But I suspect that only one person in the company knows anything about film or any vintage equipment. I took a camera in for repair in early August ’13 for a very simple job. I was told «2 – 3 weeks.» Well, nearly 3 months later they hadn’t started on it so I had to cancel the job and take it elsewhere.
Plus, and even more importantly, would it kill these guys to be friendly and put on a welcoming air when a customer walks in?

Absolutely the best place to have your camera and lenses serviced. They are knowledgeable, friendly, fast, and… honest! Moreover, they have earned my trust.
My equipment are my tools of the trade and I will not have my cameras serviced by anyone other than Pro Camera Service in Thousand Oaks.

My Nikon has been acting up for months. I called the Nikon service line at least 3 times and they couldn’t figure it out. I found Pro Camera on line and brought it into the shop. They figured it out in minutes and fixed it and didn’t charge me. He said it was a very easy problem that people who switch from film to digital often have.
This is the place to go!!!

I’ve been going to Pro Camera for years. I’ve bought used lenses from them, I’ve had cameras repaired by them, I’ve had cameras cleaned by them. What others say is true, not very friendly, and you can hear what is going on in back and the people who do come to the front are not friendly, just down to business short and sweet. Their repair prices seem pretty high, and most stuff needs to be sent out, but they get the job done and there aren’t any other options closer to LA.
But tonight I was hosting a free photography workshop in Camarillo, which last week got 185 people and then tonight was about 150, and someone from Pro Camera was handing out business cards to those that attended. Didn’t ask permission, and didn’t even introduce themselves and yet were soliciting their business to those people I did all the work advertising for.
To me that is a very dishonest and immoral way to do business. Let someone else gather the people and then hand out their business cards. In a more professional world, you’d ask to ‘sponsor’ the event and in return I would plug your business. I don’t go into your store and solicit my business so please don’t do that to mine.
I’m going to be taking my future repairs and cleanings to Samy’s, regardless of the distance.
