Sarfraz Zaidi, MD

I have Hyperthyroidism/​GD for more than 8 years and Dr. Zaidi is my 3^rd endo and prayed that he will be the last. I had my 1^st visit this month and all I can say is that he is a very caring, great and knowledgeable specialist in his field. Before I went to him, I bought his book (Grave’s Disease and Hyperthyroidism) 5 months ago and it changed and saved my life. After reading and applied all his teachings together with the prescribed medicine, I brought down my levels quickly in which it did not happened before… such an amazing book and a brilliant doctor.
I’m grateful and proud that I found Dr. Zaidi through net searching. Though, he’s a little bit far from our place but it’s really worth of my effort, money and time.

Without a doubt the most knowledgeable, caring physician I have ever been to. I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis and menopause which caused me to search the country for a physician who understood the complexities and challenges of having symptoms of both of these conditions. He truly sets the standard for the kind of medical care that one hopes to receive. I cannot say enough about his compassionate wisdom and ability to listen that is so healing! I travel from the Washington DC area to Thousand Oaks, CA to see him because of his expertise in this field which should speak volumes as to the kind of care I receive from him.

FINALLY, a doctor that actually listens! I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s in February of 2013 and was put on Synthroid… 2 years later I felt worse than ever. Going to see Dr. Zaidi has changed my life.
After doing my own research, I asked a pharmacist who prescribed T3 as every doctor I went to before him wouldn’t listen to me and wouldn’t try anything other than T4 only treatment. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Zaidi.
I have only seen him twice now, but he is so patient and thorough and answered every question I had and never once made me feel bad for asking. My first appointment he spent nearly THREE hours with me and I have no doubt that he would have spent longer with me if I had more questions.
I feel very grateful to finally find a doctor without an ego and that actually cares about his patients. I’m a big believer in education and he loves to educate his patients and not just give them pills.

During a long stay in a los Angeles hospital for an unrelated illness I was treated for diabetes and was injected with various amounts of insulin at least three times per day. I knew I was a type II diabetic prior but I was not sure why all of a sudden I had to inject insulin so frequently throughout my hospital stay as well as on my release. Because of this concern I asked my primary doctor who he recommended to specifically treat my diabetes. He suggested Dr. Zaidi in Thousand Oakes Ca. Dr. Zaidi reviewed my health history and diagnosed me with Insulin Resistance Syndrome (IRS) and proceeded to take me off insulin injections an put me on a couple of oral prescriptions and several different vitamins including D3. It has been 5 years and my Type II diabetes is under control and long gone are the days of disruptive injections.

A great doctor. Brilliant, well-​informed, the highest levels of knowledge. Non egotistical and cares about his patients. Highly recommended.

Dr. Zaidi does what is right and by no means has his hands tied up by insurance companies or large medical group restrictions. He takes whatever time is necessary and you never feel rushed. He is not your conventional doctor and if you know his personal history and read his books you will understand why and how he practices medicine. My medical group that is covered by my insurance had me see five different endocrinologists in the past five years. They all spent only a few minutes with me in the room. They would prescribe Synthroid and say we’ll check you in 6 months. Each time I went in they would comment on how I needed a biopsy but in the end they would not write the referral or do what was needed. After the fifth time this happened I decided to go see someone out of network. Dr. Zaidi was alarmed with good reason that certain tests and biopsies were not run. He coordinated with my doctor that was covered by insurance to make sure those test were performed so that I wouldn’t have to pay for them out of pocket. Test came back with several red flags. Even when my genetic molecular testing came back in a high percentage for cancer the surgeons I went to see dismissed me. Dr. Zaidi was very supportive and insisted I find a surgeon that would take out my thyroid. When I went to USC the surgeon recognized what was going on and was in agreement with Dr. Zaidi to remove the whole thing. In the end it was a very rare form of cancer that had grown and embedded itself into the trachea. He also removed several lymph nodes and had to undergo an intensive RAI treatment. If it weren’t for Dr. Zaidi I have no idea what would have happened to me. Dr. Zaidi also discovered that I am one of the rare patients that cannot convert T-​3 into T-​4 with Synthroid. When he changed my medication I finally felt normal again. I am truly grateful for all that he has done for me. He is an amazing diagnostician! He doesn’t just throw drugs at your situation. He finds out what is going on first and then looks at all avenues in treating the disease, whether it is a natural approach or conventional western medicine.

Dr. Zaidi pretty much saved my life. I was diagnosed at urgent care with a goiter and at that point, was very, very sick. Long story short, I was in bed unable to function for three weeks. After my urgent care visit, I visited three different doctors that had absolutely no idea how to treat a thyroid disorder and made me feel like it was all my fault. My health continued to fail.
I heard about Dr. Zaidi through a Facebook thyroid group that I had joined as an attempt to take my health matters into my own hands. One of the members claimed that he helped her to get her Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis in check, and that she felt as if nothing was wrong with her. That she was «cured». Being that Dr. Zaidi was only two hours from me, I decided to give it a go.
Making my first appointment was the best thing that I’ve ever done for myself.
I adore his staff; making the initial appointment was quick and easy and they made sure to accommodate certain dates and times with no hassle. This stands true after a year of being his patient. I can usually get an appointment within a week or so of calling.
Unlike other doctors I was visiting, not once was I accused of being a hypochondriac as before. He listened to all of my concerns, answered all of my questions and gave me the medicine, supplements and support I needed.
I actually had purchased his book prior to visiting and was able to grasp my disease a lot easier because of it, and make necessary changes to better my health.
Dr. Zaidi has conducted ground breaking research on vitamin D and how vital it is to all of us. Mine was definitely low and I was able to get it back up to a healthy level after his guidance.
He also helped me heal my exhausted adrenal glands.
Yes, he took my blood work into consideration, but a large part of my treatment was based on symptoms– no other doctor had done that. I couldn’t even get the correct labs ordered from those other doctors!
One year after my first visit, my Hashimoto’s is in remission and my thyroid levels are normal and remain very consistent. Dr. Zaidi is now guiding me through a PCOS/​high testosterone issue which he picked up on from my complaints of various symptoms– I actually never told him that I had issues with it in the past.
His «bedside manner» is calm and reassuring. He’s a very positive man.
Yes, he has books that he sells, but I’ve found them all useful. Having an autoimmune disease can be confusing and scary, but as I said before, his book helped me get a handle on things. His stress relief books, while they state the obvious, are a good reminder to «live in the now» as he says and not to worry over menial stuff. When you’re sick and trying to get better, stress is the LAST thing you want… especially if you have something like adrenal exhaustion, like I did. I even gave my mother a copy of his book on diabetes and his information has helped her manage her blood sugar quite well.

Yes, he also has his own vitamins. I’ve never felt pressured by anyone in the office to purchase them. Yes, I have tried most of them. As a self-​proclaimed supplement queen, I can truly say I prefer his multivitamins (Glupride) and his vitamin D lozenges to any other brand that I’ve tried. They definitely work better. I also keep the B12 lozenges on hand when I’m having a flare-​up as they absorb quickly and give me a boost if I need it. The rest I buy at my local Clark’s grocer.
I honestly think I would be dead if it weren’t for Dr. Zaidi.
No, he does not take my insurance, but his fees are a LOT more reasonable than any other doctor I’ve seen sans-​insurance. It’s definitely worth it, to me, to put aside that $ 145 4x a year so I can make sure my disease is in check and my health is optimal.

Do not go to this Doctor! He has a definite «God» complex and makes you feel extremely uncomfortable. His staff is unfriendly, unhelpful and just plain rude. It’s a very dysfunctional situation, with his wife running the office, who almost bullies the patients. I literally had tears in my eyes after a visit. He seems to be out for himself with his books and vitamins and not really caring about the patient’s well being. They don’t take insurance either, so you’re paying for this poor treatment. Your supposed to go to a Dr. to be healed, not to feel worse after every visit.

Both my husband and son have type 1 diabetes. We’ve worked with several doctors and specialists and clinics and hospitals. No one comes close to meeting our needs like Dr. Zaidi. His five pillar health model and authority in this field is priceless. This is why we will continue to go to him even though he’s out of our insurance network and even though we are moving out of state.
His wonderful office staff gratefully informed us we can continue to have Dr. Zaidi as a resource from miles away! We are elated to say the least.
Where in this industry can you find a certified endocrinologist with international residency trainings, extensive research in the field, author of several books AND awesome office staff? He’s a rare find and worth the drive to establish a relationship.

I was Dr Zaidi Sarfraz passion. 5 years ago I came to his office and pay him privately .He sold me many vitamins that made by his company. after a while I didn’t have the money to pay privately because I had the Blue Cross insurace. wich he didn’t accepted. After five years I try to make appointment with him again, I am Medicare 65 years old. I made appointment and all of a sudden this secretary called me and canceled the appointment because the doctor refuses taking me back. I wonder why and she didn’t have any answer for me. my question why did the doctor refuse seeing me? is it because I am Medicare and he cannot get the money that I paid before as privately? or maybe it is discrimination because I am Israeli? I don’t know!!! there is no reason the doctor refusing taking me just because I visited him five years ago and couldn’t afford it. I didn’t owe him money I need to give him any trouble so what is the reason? probably discrimination!
or maybe I didn’t buy enough medicine by his fectory? good question for the doctor that refuse to serve the seniors in Thousand Oaks.
