. The Dr who gave the exam (I forget his name) was very thorough and my prescription was spot on. Lisa is a very professional and knowledgeable sales associate at the Thousand Oaks sears optical store. Bought my first two pairs from her last May. I just went back today to get an extra pair for work and she got me the best deal on a great pair of glasses. I’ve been wearing glasses for 17 years and I won’t go anywhere else as long as she’s there.
Keep up the good work Lisa. I’m a customer for life!

Lisa is the BEST and she made our experience here a pleasure. We have been coming to this Sears Optical location for years. We left the store today thoroughly satisfied with our purchase. We will never go anywhere else for our optical needs. Keep up the good work guys!

Got a good price on glasses. But they don’t have enough staff to adjust glasses for you. If they’re selling glasses to someone, then they won’t help you right away. The sales rep said «I can’t be rude to them without even asking the customers if she could take a few minutes just to adjust my glasses.

***disclaimer: i have been wearing glasses/​contacts for 30 yrs, so i have seen plenty of eye doctors over the years.
i went to get an eye exam here a few weeks ago.
i have never had a more thorough exam. the dr took his time, i was really impressed by how many tests he did. he suggested two different types of contacts; i ended up liking both but one was just perfect.
moving on to the ladies in the front!
i have rarely experienced this great customer service.
lovely gina and lisa helped me pick a new frame, gave me honest feedback, made sure i got the best deal on contacts and glasses.
i just picked up my new glasses, and they fit perfectly and look great (me thinks).
please — do not get turned off by the website!!!
i almost cancelled my initial appointment because the frame selection on the site is poor and disappointing — but not so in store!!!

Doctor 5 star clerk 0 so rude and rushing me out once I’d stated I would be ordering my sons glasses online. Sorry don’t want to pay $ 250 for glasses I get for $ 82 online free ship and lens. Really deserves 2.5 because doctor is great!

I do not understand how there can be ANY bad reveiews for this place. It has been 3 years since i had an exam. Lets just say i needed glasses and contacts. From the start, Lisa Ross helped and walked me through EVERYTHING! My dad had called the night before, he also loves her, and at the time the next day was the last day of a sale. Lisa got me in for the next day so that i could still get the sale prices and she also called my insurance company before i came in and figured out all the information that i would have had to spend time on doing. SHE WAS SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL. When i arrived, she knew more about my insurance than I did. She helped me decide on very good looking glasses and my first set of contacts! The doctor there was also extremely helpful, knowledgable and patient with me… as it was my first time using contacts (lol). I will ALWAYS recommend and use Sears Optical in T. O for my eye care needs from now on.

The staff and Dr. at this location are the best. We always receive the best customer service with a smile. Our glasses are always on time and they take extra care to make sure we get exactly what we need at the best price in town.

The staff here is what earns this five star rating. Lisa Ross, i believe to be the manager, is a peach. Not only was she helpful and knowledgable but i felt like she actually cared and wanted to make sure i was completely satisfied with my choice of glasses frames and contacts, and i definitely didnt feel pressured to make a purchase, in fact she gave me every option available and helped make it as affordable as possible :) she was pleasant and professional which made the chore of replacing my glasses enjoyable!
Next, the doctor was very knowledgable and friendly! He answered every question i had a checked multiple times to make sure i was seeing as clearly as possible. Im trying contacts again for the second time after have a terrible time with them years back. He gave me options if different lens and gave me sample pairs to try, enough to last until my glasses arrive :) he made sure also to check that the contacts were fitted correctly and told me not to order packs till i was sure i was satisfied with them.
This place does not try to upsell you and you wont feel like youre being rushed in and out. These guys really care about their customers and want to make sure everything is perfect when you walk out the door. Highly recommend and i will be back (:

I’m going to say this has been over a year but til this day I have not forgotten what happend here. First of all the doc was great, the blonde older lady amazing. The one star is awarded redish brownish head lady she was so rude and plain out racist. My mother doesn’t speak english but I was pregnant and having some pain, we were patiently waiting for my contacts. Contacts I ordered 2 weeks prior, so she made us wait past an hour and she was rude and acting like she didn’t know why we were there. Making my mom repeat herself and answering her with SIT DOWN TIL YOU ARE CALLED! She is horrible if she was having a bad day she should check her PERSONAL baggage at the door. She is just not nice at all nice to the fully cocasians but others are not WELCOMED! (apparently)

I just got my eye exam done there. They have a new doctor. I loved his professionalism and his knowledge. He is very knowledgeable and fast. I was in and out of the office within an hour which included me picking my frame. The Optical staff is very good. They know their stuff and the best is their 40%off of frames and 60%off a second frame. I had a really great experience and would recommend it to anyone who needs eye exam or glasses.

Went here twice. The woman doctor is just okay. I always thought it conspicuous that nowhere on the Sears Optical website is this doctor’s name given. I assume it’s because for some reason they can’t retain permanent doctors.
I had a floater on my right eye that was very distracting, plus my contacts were building up protein that would not come off with anything, which caused me to have to throw them away unusually soon, which I told her about. She first launched into a generic answer about floaters occurring with all people, something I already knew. Then she said about the buildup, for me not to keep switching saline every time to whatever is on sale. Oh please. I’ve worn contacts since 1977, that is not the cause… Neither of her remarks helped my issues. The second time I went she insisted on the eye drop dilation even though I told her I have no ride home. She said that’s okay, just wear your sunglasses… I almost killed myself on the freeway from the light sensitivity that dilation causes.
As for the desk girl’s attentiveness that others here mention, I would say it’s more like high-​pressure sales to buy in a year’s supply bulk and when you decline her offer, she gives the «oh brother» eyes with attitude, like, ‘Your loss, stupid.‘
Eyes doctors are a dime a dozen. Good ones are rare. I now recommend Dr. Wood in Moorpark. He’s mature, professional, knows his stuff, and worth the drive. 100% better service, including his staff.

So the first day I arrive its because I called in to check for any deals. Sears optical, was a sears failure. When I got there, I asked the lady (AN OPTICIAN…) if I could get: polycarbonate, transition lenses and she told me that the deal was for AR coated polycarbonate lenses, and that i would have to pay extra for the transition index.
I didnt have a problem with that, but she then tried to convince me that i should instead get a pair of normal prescription glasses and a discounted Set of prescription polarized sunglasses. I said why, when i can have one set of glasses that act like sunglasses when i need them to? She retorted that polarized lenses are much better for vision and that they reduce glare which can be bad for your eyes. I explained right it annihilates glare reflecting off of non-​metallic surfaces, depending on the angle. She then tried to convince me that i was wrong and that it cuts glare from metallic surfaces too. I told her, «well, I’m an engineering major, «to which she replied, «well I’m an optician.» Bottom line she doesn’t know what she was talking about and trying to beat my logic when I’ve had much experience with Optical Physics (do the research yourself).
So I decided to just order my pair for the deal and go on with life. When i was told they were ready, I came to pick them up the next day and NO ONE WAS AVAILABLE AT ALL due to some «emergency lunch» which apparently took up two peoples job. No one was there to watch the store. wtf. So i drove back the next day only to pick up a pair of defective glasses, the optician then violently popped out the lens from the frame to inspect. When I asked him why he even needed to do that, the lady at the other desk said, «Its ok, we are opticians».
Right… The dude said that it should only take a couple days, and when I called back to check within a couple days, that same lady answered the phone only to tell me, «Yeah I heard him say that, and i knew he was exaggerating, because i actually takes a week.» OF course. When I go back to get my lens, I’m gonna let them have it.

Ordered glasses ⁸⁄₂₈ arrived ⁹⁄₉ as promised (holiday weekend=9 business days). Good quality. Had to come back the next day for an adjustment. All good. Lisa still very attentive and again a lot of attention to detail.
