Stay away from SolarMax!
Definitely a thumbs down all the way.
They are a company that is not worth your time and money. I had a very difficult time with this company. There sales guy are not trust worthy and the company will not honor anything that was committed by their reps. During the contract negotiation, the sales guy asked if I know anyone that would be interested in having solar panel. I told him, Bruce Cheng, my sister may be interested, he then said that the company offers $ 500.00 referral fee and free iPad mini[free iPad mini was part of the advertisement]. My sister signed up and was also promise the same. After my installation was complete, I called Bruce, he keeps telling me the referral fee and the iPad mini was coming. It was the same week after week.
I didn’t want to jeopardize Bruce’s job hence hesitated to call his company for quite some time. However, I finally called his company, SolarMax, and was informed that he no longer works for the company. I was also informed that they will NOT honor anything that their Sales Reps committed to. I made the comment that he’s represents the company, they didn’t care. This is from the manager to their Sales Director. I also have text messages to prove.
I asked whether they care about their customers, he didn’t comment. I definitely will report them to consumer affairs as fraud.
On top of that, I had quite a few issues with the installation/​pane. Issues from wiring to their sensors. My husband had to call them many times for them to come out and it would be on their convenient not at yours. Every issue we had took them more than one try to fix.
Bottom line is, go to any other company but this.

Do not use SolarMax!!! Do not trust them!
I’ve posted my review on SolarMax-​Diamond Bar as well. This is a company that can not be trusted. They’ve lied to me and they’ve lied to my sister. I’ve reported it to BBB and I will post it on Facebook and all social media that are available. Consumers need to know this is a company that can not be trusted. You can not trust what their sales rep tells you because the manager/​director will not honor it regardless if you have it in writing. The sales rep promised my sister $ 500 referral which she didn’t get. The sales rep told me my sister will get $ 500 referral fee and I’ll will get a brand new iPad mini 3. That was the reason why I signed up with them. I did not get the iPad mini 3 and my sister didn’t get her referral. I have everything in writing but the manager/​director didn’t care because that sales rep no longer works for them.

SolarMax had the best presentation and the best price. Dealing with Dean Baldwin made the entire process enjoyable. She was very responsive to any questions I had and really made things happen on time. Dena went to bat for me to make sure that I got my incentive from SoCal Edison when time was running out. I would recommend them without question.

Our experience with SolarMax was superb! Mostly due to the awesome customer service we received from our SolarMax representative Keith Graves who lead us through the process and answered all our questions, to the installers of the solar equipment who were professional and efficient. We all want to be environmentally responsible and save money. SolarMax expertly makes it happen without the stress and concerns of being taken advantage of. Keith was there for us each step of the process. Some representatives just get you signed up and then you are on your own after that, not Kieth, he follows the process from start to finish. We recommend him and SolarMax to anyone looking to go Solar!!!

Solarmax, and especially Deena Baldwin were the BEST! after researching and trying to get the right lease for my rental properties and get things going for months, Deena is the one who made it all work! Looking forward to the reduced energy costs from this sytem-​it is not unatractive on the yard side of the house, where it can not be seen from the street and everything went sooo smooth. Call Deena for help with your solar needs, the utility companies are going to keep pounding us!

Great company to work with. Jeff Downs and Garrett were both very helpful and professional. I asked them to place the panels in an «esthetically pleasing» way and they did a great job. Panels do not take away from my homes curb appeal at all. So happy to have gone «green» and I can’t wait to see how much money we save on electricity!
