History
Established in 2009.
After UCAAN Founder Rachel Shur battled terminal Leukemia twice, she understood what it was like to struggle to find the help. She felt that obtaining resources should be an easy feat, easier than that of cancer, but what she found was a gap. Patients weren’t receiving the help and support they needed from the people that should have been helping them.
Through her own search, public speaking and volunteer work with other non-profits, Shur took the bull by the horns and decided to use her new found knowledge and resources to help others with cancer by starting a unique organization that focused on the patients, rather than research.
Shur has incorporated her many loves of life into the grassroots organization including writing, art, business, nature and creativity. Their office was obtained in Nov. 2011.
