Sam’s Anchor Café is a favorite waterfront restaurant on San Francisco Bay. Located in Marin County in the charming town of Tiburon, the restaurant has long been famous for its American/Seafood cuisine, the fun atmosphere and breathtaking views of Angel Island, Alcatraz and the San Francisco skyline. We specialize in the freshest seafood and we make everything in house. We have a seasonally changing menu.
Weekdays and evenings are always relaxing and the weekend brunch is a Bay Area favorite. It’s been said that if you stay long enough you’ll see everyone you’ve ever known. Sam’s has happy hours Monday-Thursday. We have two stocked full bars and a great California wine list for you to enjoy.

History
Established in 1920.
Reportedly, this famous restaurant was once a hub of bootlegging activity and that is how Sam really made his fortune. The town was an old railroad town, and Sam opened up the establishment during the Prohibition era. In those days, as today, the bar was a neighborhood-gathering place. Sam ‘s has been owned and operated by Brian Wilson and Steve Sears since 1978.
At Sam’s Anchor Café, our friendly staff pays the closest attention to detail. Many of our employees have been with us for many years, and their impeccable service always makes a trip to Sam’s Anchor Café worthwhile.

Brian W. has owned Sam’s Anchor Café for over 35 years. With an establishment like Sam’s, there’s a lot of tradition and history. Under Brian and his team, Sam’s Anchor Café has lived up to its rich history and maintained all of the hallmarks and defining qualities that have made it a great establishment for over 90 years! Brian grew up in the restaurant business and has plenty of experience in the industry. He is truly passionate about Sam’s Anchor Café, and his love of the restaurant is shared by all of the dedicated staff.
