Dr. Weinberg and the staff at her lovely office were the most cheerful and welcoming group I have ever encountered during a doctor visit. It’s not everyday you get up early for a doctors appointment and actually look forward to it… Dr. Weinberg’s spirit and passion for me and the profession truly shined through this morning. To top it all off I think I received my first ever adult lollypop today, which was a Starbucks gift card for great dental health/​upkeep. I felt so special. I just wanted to stop by and say «Thank You» for the build up on my front tooth. As I explained to you it was a major insecurity of mine, and with a Wedding coming up it was a MUST HAVE. Well, our wedding pictures turned out AMAZING, and my smile was something to talk about. Couldn’t have turned out any better!

I have been going to see Dr. for many years now. Lourinda is my tooth-​picker, and I may be biased because she is such a wonderful family friend anyways, but she always makes me feel comfortable, makes me laugh, and doesn’t make me feel ashamed if I haven’t been flossing or taking A+ care of my teeth. Dr. W. uses the latest technology and stays up to date with the latest research for her patients, which I admire. I never feel like her practices are out of date or unnecessary.
From knowing Lourinda and always seeing the same office ladies working for her year after year, I also know that Dr. W. is a WONDERFUL person to work for, which I am jealous of. She is always taking the ladies on vacations for fun, as well as charity work.
I complimented something that Dr. was wearing one day and she took it off and gave it to me! This is the kind of person she is. So kind, caring, and generous.
She can be a little bit rough (Dr.) in the mouth, but honestly, it makes me feel like she is working hard and after all of the positive experiences with her, I could care less. I love her.
If you are looking for a WONDERFUL dentist that you can trust and count on, go see Dr. Weinburg.
OH OH OH — and they always have amazing cookies in their office, and they always manage to somehow «bake too many that day» so you need to take home like, four (however I would always recommend asking first before you take a handful). And if you are waiting for your appointment, they will tell you to eat some because «Lourinda will just pick it out in a few minutes anyways.» Love it.

So, you might be wandering why just 1 star for Dr. Weinberg and her staff… well, it’s because those are the only reviews that get to show up and stay on Unilocal… I think Dr. Weinberg and her staff are amazing… I’ve been going there for about 10 years now and I wouldn’t go anywhere else… I get a warm welcoming when i first come through that door for my appointment to the end when I leave and pay for the services that I had done… They give you an «estimate» of what your insurance might pay, and it’s so nice to have an idea of what the cost will be, and it’s really close usually too… Dr. Weinberg takes the time to explain what will be done and why I need a certain procedure too… This group of women are like family to me, Thank you to Dr. Tanya, Meleen, Courtney, Debi, and Lourinda for outstanding dental care!!!

Summary: Susan Weinberg recommended a filling be re-​done & she created problems with my bite, created sensitivity, and caused severe pain every time I touched the tooth with food or a toothbrush, when I never have any issues before. I was unable to eat or brush my tooth for weeks due to the severe pain. I ended up going to my previous dentist who immediately noticed Susan left a small portion unfilled which was causing me the pain every time that tooth was touched. I requested that my prior dentist completely re-​do Susan’s filling & now I’m able to eat on the that side of my mouth & brush all my teeth without any pain.

In early January, Susan Weinberg replaced an existing filling with a new one, at her recommendation. I have never had issues with that filling, but followed her recommendation. After the procedure, she filed off the excess filling material & I told her several times that my bite felt too high, so she continued to take material away. After several times of filing away excess material, I figured maybe it felt high because I was still numb. So I left home & one of my lower right teeth felt like it was sharp & hitting one of my top teeth, whenever I would bite down. So I called that same day to schedule an appointment for the following day to get it filed down some more. For the duration of the evening, my gums were soar, but assumed it was because of the numbing.
The following day I went into Susan Weinberg’s office & she filed my tooth until it didn’t feel as sharp, so I said that it felt better. She said that I should ‘give that a try & see how it feels’. Later that morning, I tried to eat but my bite still felt ‘off’ and my bottom tooth was very soar. I also tried eating snack food (i.e. chips) & could not chew on that side of my mouth because when I would bite on that tooth, I would get a sharp pain that was never there before. I called to make an actual appointment so that she could dedicate time to fix my issues.
On the third consecutive day & visit, I let Susan know my issues:
1. My bite was off still and it felt like my right side (the side of the filling) was actually lower than my left. My main concern was that my lower tooth was hitting a tooth on the top
2. Whenever I ate food, like potato chips I’d get a sharp pain, similar to a new cavity forming before it gets filled
Susan Weinberg’s responses to my concerns were:
1. Susan did a bite test & couldn’t tell me what needed to be done. She wanted to continue to shave off more material, but I did not let her because I again voiced my concern for the gap on my right side & I couldn’t tell what tooth was hitting the top tooth, so I didn’t want her to continue to shave off more material if it would also create even more pain by taking away additional material. She did not know what tooth she had re-​filled & asked me which one it was. I told her that I could feel it with my mouth closed, but asked her if she knew which tooth she had re-​filled and she didn’t know. I let her know that I was trying to convey how my left molars bite down first vs my right ones, except for that one tooth, so I didn’t know if she needed to actually add more filler & then re-​sand down. She didn’t do that, rather just added sealant. (I’d like to stress that she added sealant hesitantly because I requested that she add more ‘filler’ and then shave it down but she had to be convinced to add something to my tooth.) She did take an x-​ray of my tooth, but nothing was seen on the x-​ray.
2. Her response to my pain was that my tooth all of a sudden got sensitive & that placing Colgate Sensitive toothpaste on it would help alleviate the pain. I let her know that I use Sensodyne toothpaste daily & have never had sensitivity until she redid my filling. I told her that I should not have pain to cold water or chips & her giving me toothpaste was not acceptable, because it was not a permanent solution for my pain. After arguing a couple minutes, she agreed to put sealant on my tooth in the hopes of it alleviating my pain.
I had to wait for the insurance to review whether they would cover another dentist re-​doing the filling, but after a couple weeks of not being able to eat on the right side of my mouth and not being able to brush my tooth, I made an appointment to have my prior dentist completely re-​do the filling before receiving an answer. Immediately after seeing my tooth, my dentist saw that there was a small gap in the filling that was not completely filled in which might have been causing my ongoing pain. She also took an x-​ray that did not show any issues. It was only seen when looking directly at the top of my tooth. After my dentist redid Susan’s filling, I was able to eat on the right side of my mouth & brush all of my teeth that same day.
I would not recommend her to anyone & I understand that people make mistakes. However, I’m most frustrated with how she handled the situation on the third day I visited her office.
