The Ultimate Tan & Med Spa

The new owner Kurt is not customer friendly at all! He reluctantly honored a previously purchased massage package and then he attempted to charge me an additional fee after my massage was finished by chasing me down in the parking lot! He should be humiliated by his behavior!
Jose was my massage therapist and is AMAZING! I really hope that he can find future employment elsewhere as I can only imagine how Kurt is treating his acquired employees. I will not be returning to this business in the future but hope to see Jose elsewhere for a massage in the future!

Steer clear of this train wreck of a business. Kurt was at the front desk and told me he owns this business that was previously Sanita Med Spa. The Sanita Sign is still on the building as of this review. Sanita Med Spa went bankrupt. Kurt told me 2÷29÷16 that he only leases the space, but he has my information in the system and the same furnishings and equipment are still at the Tigard location, so it seems that he also purchased the business. Originally, I was told by employees of Ultimate Tan & Med Spa that my tan package purchased in Wilsonville would be honored. This has shifted over the past few months, and I was recently told that I had two months to use the remaining credit on my tan package. I arrived to tan today and was told by Kurt that he was not willing to honor the remaining credit on my tan package. Kurt seemed to think that I was unreasonable in my assertion that the remaining few tans on my package were worth keeping me as a client. He told me that because I was driving from Wilsonville to Tigard that he didn’t anticipate that I would remain a client. The lack of communication by Kurt Nash to the clients of Sanita Med Spa is unacceptable. I was not sent an e-​mail, or a phone call. I simply arrived to discover that while information on my purchase was available that The Ultimate Tan & Med Spa would no longer honor my package. The clients who purchased packages from a now bankrupt company are a resource that Kurt made clear he is not concerned about maintaining. Kurt told me that he needs to start making money as his reason for not honoring my prepaid package. I’m not sure how he intends to make money by angering the clients he inherited from Sanita Med Spa.
Kurt was unpleasant in his attitude toward me, and he disturbed me enough that I wouldn’t continue to support his business under any terms. Kurt has changed the terms of his willingness to honor the pre-​purchased packages, and I will avoid him and The Ultimate Tan & Med Spa.

Very bad business, appointment are not honored. I don’t mean running late. You don’t have an appointment today, when I do. Sorry you can’t use the computer to track your clients. I wasted a trip and my time. I can’t even get a new appointment without waiting a month to get in. I paid good money for service I am not receiving. Staff can be helpful at times, But not worth it. Please notice the good reviews after a bad one. It is the staff making up reviews.

It went from Ultimate Tan and Spa to Sanita Tan and Spa, to recently since the beginning of the year 2016 Tigard Tan and Spa… I bought several packages from Ultimate, massages, hair removal… I was a customer since early 2012 if not before. My credit remaining were rolled over with Sanita, but apparently with the new name Tigard Med and spa I have to pay a fee of $ 15 for each session left of my hair laser removal and $ 20 each massages !!! $ 20 additional when i bought a pack of 10 massages at $ 40 each originally, what’s the point??? No letter was sent– they had still all my info, but didn’t call or email to inform that you will basically loose your credit .They didn’t feel sorry … The new owner was even there and basically told me «you already lost your $ 40, just forget about it «to convince my to pay $ 20 more for a massage! Customer for 4 years, I new the staff that they let go little by little, and now I will never go back !

There’s a never enough time and when you find a moment the list is too long to say «thank you» to the staff at Ultimate spa. Thank you for being the best and most importantly caring staff… Über therapeutic

Several months ago, someone there called to tell me I have 4 facials left in a package I purchased last year. I’ve called twice to schedule an appointment, had to leave a voicemail and did not get a call back. I guess they don’t want my patronage or a good review on Unilocal

This place is such a rip off. Their lasers don’t work so don’t waste your money. Their tanning packages expire and when I found out I was pregnant they didn’t care. I can’t understand how places like this think they’re saving themselves money by driving would-​be repeat customers away.

I had the worst Mystic spray tan of my life for a very big event. I had streaks, there was uneven coverage, just in general an awful spray tan. They kept trying to upsell me and when I said I only wanted a one time spray tan they basically left me on my own. I get spray tans on a very regular basis, normally air brush tans, due to a cancelation I was forced to go here, WON’T EVER HAPPEN AGAIN!

Horrible billing practices!!! I bought a package with 3 monthly payments. TThey ran a payment, but the card that I using had been reported lost and it didn’t go through. I called them to notify them to please run it again … apparently they did not. Fast forward six months and I receive a notice from a collection agency that the bill had not been paid! So instead of contacting me directly and saying hey … you owe us some money, they send me to collections. When I called their corporate office to inquire why they did not just let me know I had an outstanding balance, no one ever returned my calls. I would have promptly paid …
I will never do business with this company again! Shady!!!

Nice place, needed to get a few tanning sessions in before my Mexico trip. Ladies are real nice. Never had to wait to long for a tanning bed.

I wish I could give this place a zero! I don’t even know where to begin!
First off they go through technicians like crazy, I was getting a Brazilian and arm pit laser removal and out of my six sessions I had 3 different people looking at my goods.
Every time I went in for a session and I mean EVERY TIME they would try and do only a bikini removal and «forgot» about it being a Brazilian and armpit removal, even with my freaking charts sitting right in front of them! They accused me of trying to steal the services on 2 occasions when I had to remind them it was a Brazilian and not just a bikini, how hard is it to read the paperwork??? I know what i paid for! and it wasn’t cheap!!! When I was 10 minutes late they tried to charge me $ 25 and told me the technician had already took the next patient, which was a lie because my sister was the next patient and she was with me!!! How can you take the next patient when she is with me!!! When I called them out on it they made up excuses but «managed» to fit me in, instead of making me reschedule it!
And last but not least the hair removal didn’t even work! I still have over 50% of my hair left! They know it doesn’t work too because I got a call from one of the technicians a few weeks after my last appointment trying to sell me more hair removal and when I told her I wasn’t interested because after six treatments it hasn’t worked, she openly admitted that the machines weren’t the greatest and that she knew it and was sorry, and then went on to try and still sell me more hair removal sessions! Lady if you know it doesn’t work well don’t admit it and then try and sell it to me!!!
Horrible customer service and they will rip you off! Be carful if your stupid enough to go with them even after all the horrible reviews!

I came in for my last appointment today and was about 10 minutes late because of unusual traffic on a Saturday afternoon. The receptionist girl said that since I was 10 minutes late, the girl is already taking her next appointment because she is running late.
HOW WAS SHE RUNNING LATE WHEN SHE TOOK HER NEXT APPOINTMENT ALREADY AND JUST BASICALLY SKIPPED ME?
The girl said that there doesn’t seem to be anything else available for the rest of the day so they’ll have to reschedule me for another day. I’ve been there five times before and today was my last laser hair removal session, each time it took them about 5 minutes. When I told her I had driven all the way from Vancouver to the place and there was traffic everywhere today, she just rubbed it off and said that there was nothing she could do about it because I was a whole ten minutes late.
Every time I’ve been to the place, there seems to be new employees (receptionist and the laser hair removal technicians). I’ve been through at least 3 technicians and worked with over 4 receptionists to schedule my appointments. Just seems very weird to me that this place can’t seem to keep their employees or maybe it’s because their employees suck and can’t do their jobs right.
I basically just forfeited my last session and will never come back ’cause it’s not worth my time to drive all the way to Tigard just to deal with inexperience people who suck at what they do.
As for results from my five sessions there, I don’t see much of a difference at all. What a waste of my time.
SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE TO GET YOUR MONEY’S WORTH!

I purchased 2 Groupons with them and would say the massages themselves were ok but the environment is not especially conducive to massage. Bright, garish lights, cold room, noisy chatter and music floating in, mechanical noises from a fan on the floor, and a white noise machine that kept clicking.

Extremely difficult to get appointments – they’re always booked. I purchased a Groupon for laser hair removal and then added a significant amount of my own money to this package for six treatments of full legs. Twice now they have only gotten through half of my legs (lower legs, with upper legs still untouched) and i had to come back a few days later or a week later to finish the rest of my leg. Once they got through only one lower leg and i had to come back to finish my other leg and upper legs. I live an hour away so it’s really inconvenient. Each time they have been very nice and apologetic, but that doesn’t necessarily help when i have to waste my time and gas to return when they should have scheduled me a long enough appointment to begin with. And I would be willing to overlook all of this nonsense if i actually had any results in hair loss – but after three treatments, I’ve had virtually no results. I’ve simultaneously had treatments done at another laser hair removal business in Portland on another body part and am already practically hairless after three treatments. To be fair, I will say that the three different technicians i have (they keep switching them on me) have all been lovely. It would have been nice to have the same person though, since consistency does matter here. Save your money and your frustration.

I went to this place on a Sharing Spree for a 60 min. massage. I ended up buying a package of 5 for $ 150 (that’s only $ 30/​hr)! Jordan has been my massage therapist and he’s good. He has to drive between the Sherwood location and the Tigard location I go to so his schedule is limited. I am a stay at home mom so I do have a lot more flexiblity then most:) They just hired a new female therapist but I’m not sure her schedule yet & it seemed like the front desk people didn’t either (so we’ll see if more availablity opens up). The facialist Dawn seems a bit strange (I can’t put my finger on it) but I did a cellulite treatment & at one point she stopped & just turned away for a good min. But service was still good & she didn’t try & push a package (I appreciate that). I recently went in for a facial w/​Jennifer, she didn’t try 2 push product, she was friendly & did a good job. It was more of a gentle clean then a deep cleaning but I was fine w/​that.
I haven’t had a problem w/​scheduling like some other reviewers so maybe they’ve resolved this problem. They give reminder calls before my appointments, good service (not great) and great rates. I took one star off for not having more availablity on services.
PS. They also offer in-​house financing if you put 25% down on their more expensive packages.

I spent $ 250 on mystics last year and apparently they EXPIRE in a year. Freaking ridiculous. Because I’m not am «active» member. They NEVER said that when I got them. Seriously this place sucks. And I got a groupon here earlier this year that I can’t even use because thy have no appointments aside from Fridays available. It helps to have more than one person trained if your going to have hundreds of people buying your groupons. Don’t come here. Don’t waste your money.

So I typically only go to places with good reviews, but this place had mixed reviews – positive ones on Google, terrible on Unilocal.Well, here’s another terrible review to add to both.
I recently bought a certificate to have laser hair removal done. When I called to schedule, they were booked out for about a month, so I’d made my appointment. Not once did anyone say anything about not tanning 2 weeks prior to getting lasered. So I went in to my first appointment, only to be turned away and told that it needed to be two weeks after. I needed a Saturday appointment or an evening appointment since I work a regular workweek (and this place is all the way out in Tigard), and there wasn’t a Saturday available for the next couple weeks and I was going out of town for a couple weeks, so it would be another month and a half before I could get an appointment.
I took a Friday morning appointment and figured I would leave work, get lasered, and come back. I went in (albeit a bit late, which was my fault), and then the technician had me sit in the laser room, looked me up and down a half dozen times trying to answer questions about my skin (awkward silences). Then she finally asked me when I last tanned, and I said two weeks ago. The woman said that I couldn’t do it because it had to be three weeks in between tans. She said it was a new machine, and that I would have to reschedule. I finally just contacted the company I bought the certificate from and got a refund. This place is not worth my time or money — even if it was at a discounted rate.

Since the woman making appointments could not find any time slot other than 6pm on a Tuesday to schedule me in, I took off from work early and sat in eastbound traffic for an hour from Portland to Tigard. Only to be told that the two confirmation calls I had received (including the one I received two hours before the appt) were all-​for-​not and somebody had moved my appt to Friday.
You can imagine my frustration as I thought back on the Tigard traffic and the extra time I would have to put in at work with no bright, sparkling skin to speak of. Then you can imagine how that was slightly amplified by the fact that the other woman who was also booked at 6pm was taken in to her facial (maybe she’s prettier? A regular facialer?) and I was told I could drive back on over at 7:30 pm the next day if I would like. No discount for the inconvenience, no phone call to other nearby locations for openings. Just an «I’m sorry… yeaa…» The women were perfectly nice, but that did not make up for a lost afternoon of sunshine. I couldn’t help but wonder if the rescheduling has anything to do with the LivingSocial coupon I intended on using, which would be silly reasoning considering I’m looking for a salon to visit regularly. By the way, that coupon ($ 40 for microdermabrasion) is now for sale!-any buyers?

worst tanning experience ever. The girl sold me a crappy package, never gave me anything but charge receipt and couldn’t bother to explain the bed. 4 bulbs out for months in only stand-​up bed and according to employee, some hadn’t be changed in year+. Had problems with desk girl and hair dresser always outside across parking lot smoking and forgetting to turn on bed or drop off requested towel. Then there was the gossip about clients while some still in bed. Too much for me, I’m staying pale. I hope the owner knows how horrible this experience was, the attempts to get he/​she to call me were never returned and neither did I. I’d never
step a latex bootie in there. Did I mention I was asked to clean my bed before use more than a few times. Ewww
