AMF Timonium Lanes

Nothing special, but it’ll suffice for a cheap night out with friends. When we were here on a Tuesday night, area was clean, shoes were in newish condition and about 50% of the lanes were in use. Staff was polite, but not overly friendly.

Spent time well with a Groupon deal here. We had the lanes for 2 hours for as low as 8.33 $ a person! Food is normally priced no complaints there. What more do you go looking for when you bowl for fun?

Terrible. Once every 3 – 4 rolls, the lane messed up our score. Then it started dropping pins from above. We waited 20 min for the lane to be fixed. Instead they decided to switch our lanes, keeping the same game going. Next lane messed up our scores too. New to the area and we won’t be coming back.

An absolute joke, thanks to John and Bob. The lane itself is whatever, but John went out of his way to provide awful customer service. He lied to us and told us our lane was ready only to give it to another party. Then the lane malfunctioned on several occasions, and that’s where Bob stepped in. Class act — not only did he not fix it, he stood there in his AMF hat trying to intimidate us the rest of the night (he may have just been awkward, but it was uncomfortable nonetheless). If you don’t mind waiting an hour and then bowling in a loud venue with extremely dim lights and rude staff members, then AMF Timonium is the place for you.

While a previously attended birthday party had cost less and was in a room across from the lanes, this party was $ 24.00/child for poor food at tables hastily set up blocking the aisle where foot traffic went rampant into their tiny arcade and bowling ball rooms. We do not recommend this venue for such needs, and it was a poor value for your money. You might expect that over $ 500.00 worth of business would have been enough to get better service. If this had been my child’s party and found such a bait and switch perpetrated, I would have demanded an immediate full refund and found another place to hold my event. Even the McDonald’s Play-​land would have been a better value! I am mystified why this business was so busy when there were glitches with close to 25% of the alleys in use while we were there! :-P

This place is exciting, specially when you want to gather with friends and families. The good thing that is good for KIDS from 2 years and above !!. They have special bowling lanes and equipment for them.
Also, it is good for parties and special events.

Definitely a fun place to hang out with friends. They have plenty of lanes which allows for a low wait if any. The concession isn’t too bad either, sometimes having nice deals.

Not fancy by any stretch but not a bad bowling alley. Things are occasionally broken or not working well, but it’s usually not an issue to switch to another lane. The staff is young, but nice. There’s plenty of food options (and alcohol) and the frequent Groupon’s they have make it pretty cheap. We’ve been here multiple times, and while it’s never been super crowded, it’s never creepily empty either.

FOOD: best you will ever have at a bowling alley. It seems more like a restaurant in a bowling alley than anything else. No microwaves, only ovens. Everything is made to order. Highly recommend the veggie pizza, I customized mine to light cheese and well done, and it was fantastic.
Areas to improve: They can be understaffed at times, as was shown with a 9 person line and only one girl at the counter. Their merchant processing system is slow, which only adds to the wait. And while they bring the food to your alley, it is not quick service and the food can be delivered cold. This downgrades them a star as it can be an easy fix and needs more attention from the manager.
The experience is nice, and nighttime bowling can be a blast. They have large screen projectors which can play sports or music videos to add to the fun. Good music and nice lighting. $ 20 for two hours all you can bowl including shoes after 10 o’clock. Can be long waits during peak times so call ahead.

I love duck pin bowling here plus they have a full bar, air hockey and pool — what more can you ask for in a bowling alley?

Forgot how much fun bowling was until I came here on a little date with my girlfriend. We played a couple duck pin games (I lost most of them) and had a blast.
The food was super simple bar food (fries, nachos, other bar stuff) so its only good for soaking up beer. There is a really good bar beyond the bowling lanes stocked full of all the alcohol you will need (major plus).

I usually don’t go bowling because… well I suck!!! But last weekend I guess I was in the mood to try at it again, and I shocked myself! Wooohoooo, call me queen of the duck pins! I was whippin butt out there. Regular bowling is so over rated, those bowling balls are too heavy! I was kind of surprised how much bowling cost, especially just for duck pins but it was a good time. The food… don’t do it. Stale nacho chips and blah bland cheese dip. But I’ll let yall in on a secret… far in the back there’s a full bar! I don’t know what I got but it was good! Maybe thats why I was kickin butt. Anyways, fun time, the music was cool 90’s pop/​punk rock music (the music I grew up listening to, now I sound old) and very family oriented.

Came here early in the evening on a Saturday. Employees were very nice and helpful. Ordered chicken tenders with fries, which didn’t take long to cook and tasted so great that I had to order more. Definitely recommend this bowling alley to anyone in the area. It’s a lot better than the ones I frequent in my hometown.

Quite a good experience. This is exactly how bowling should be; not pretentious, no upscale snobs, just good middle-​class entertainment. Lanes work very well with little to no technical glitches. Staff is helpful and polite. Snack bar prices surprisingly reasonable compared to other alleys in the area. Facility is clean and appealing. Lots of people enjoying themselves here. Very pleasant and will visit again.

I have been coming to AMF Timonium Lanes for a while, so I guess its time for me to write a review on them. I have had some good times at this center. The staff I have interacted with have been decent or better each time, no matter which day I go. Here are some things to note about AMF Timonium Lanes:
–On Sundays, they promote $ 1 games, where each game is $ 1 per game per person (self explanatory, right?) Let me warn you in advance: get there sometime early in the afternoon because the tenpin lanes will most likely be completely taken by the evening. If tenpin lanes are your thing, you’ll either have to wait until a lane opens, or play duckpins for the mean time.
–On selected nights, they have Xtreme Bowling. I believe the price is $ 20 per person for 4 hours. I love Xtreme bowling because of the music that plays in the background along with selected music videos. This adds a better experience to your night.
–The food here is OK, nothing to brag about.
–The lanes themselves are maintained well. My only problem when playing a game is the common technicalities in the electronic scoring. For example, I bowled a strike in one frame, but the scoreboard marked it as a five (what the…). Don’t worry, you can fix it by either going up to the front desk, or letting this fix itself (good luck). Fixing this yourself usually does not work, even with the instructions given on the dashboard.
I would recommend giving this AMF bowling alley a try if you’re the type that likes to bowl for enjoyment. You might like the results.
