The best thing I have put in my mouth in a long time. This chocolate was so delicious and it just melted in my mouth. I have never had chocolate that was this good. It transported me to another place in time!

Worth the drive! We always stop by this wonderful chocolatier when we are in town. Perfect place to purchase gifts. I love the truffles… They are the best truffles I’ve ever tasted.

Godiva who?! My mom used to take me to Albert Kirchmayr since I was a baby, waaaay back when the store was still located on Charles Street near Roland Park. It’s since moved to Timonium, but the quality has not changed one bit. It’s a perfect place to buy gifts for pretty much any occasion. If you want to experience true addiction, buy a bag of the chocolate covered hazelnuts and see if you can make them last longer than 24 hours. The chocolate covered cherries are another personal favorite, as is the pistachio bark. Kirchmayr also puts out holiday themed chocolates such as chocolate Santas and of course Easter bunnies. My latest purchase was a hollow chocolate molded champagne bottle, with foil on the top and a Kirchmayr label on the front to make it look real, that was filled with truffles. It’s going to be an engagement gift to a friend of mine who has a weakness for great chocolate and I know it’s going to be the perfect gift. That is if it will survive long enough without me digging into it first! Just be aware that only cash or checks are accepted.

Far from the crap chocolate of Glauber’s, Rheb’s, and Wockenfuss. Sure, I like those. But, I also like Hershey’s bars and crappy Easter bunnies from Walmart. This is some fine chocolate. The chocolate covered hazelnuts are pretty much the most addictive things ever. The truffles are also divine, especially the ones that are sold in decorative boxes made of chocolate. The holiday hollow chocolates are always fun. They really need to get with the program though. The hours are 9−5…this isn’t corporate America, it’s a chocolate shop. The hours could be more friendly. The fact that they don’t take card is also a drag. It’s not a cheap chocolate shop. Most of us feel weird paying $ 50 for chocolates in cash.

The $ 6 I spent on the«days of the week» milk chocolate bar was the best $ 6 I’ve ever spent because this was the best thing I’ve EVER put in my mouth. I can’t remember the last time I went somewhere that didn’t take cards but took personal checks, so I was able to use my like 9th check this year since I rarely carry cash. I’m already through the«Thursday» chocolate bar so I’m gonna need to go back pretty soon. The fact that this is less than a minute from my work is going to be a problem… a delicious, delicious problem.

This isn’t Bawlmer chocolate! Think handmade European — the good stuff. Have to stop by anytime I’m in the area. LOVE the truffles and the dark chocolate covered hazelnuts. Pretty sure the rest is good, but I seem to always buy those two. Kirchmayr is my «crack» … a bit more addictive, but not as expensive! I even have a link to their site on my webpage! NOTE: If going to the store — they only take cash and checks!

This place is SO worth a visit. Yes, you can buy Kirchmayr chocolates and sampler boxes at purveyors of fine food and drink in greater Baltimore, like at the Hampden Wine Source, Eddie’s, or Wegman’s, but there is nothing like making the car trip to the outlet/store/chocolate workshop in Timonium. The area is filled with warehouses and nondescript business parks, but inside this shop, fine chocolates rule the world. There is nothing like seeing these little bits of tasty artistry displayed in gleaming window cases and served up by helpful staffers. Totally worth the pilgrimage, even if you are not a chocoholic! This is worth five Unilocal stars, and more!
