Specialties

We specialize in interior and exterior painting, staining, wallpaper hanging, wallpaper removal and small drywall repair. We are experts at making sure we prepare all work surfaces, prior to painting or staining your home. All nail-pops and cracks which occur on the drywall of your home are surrounded by a new screws. Major cracks have a fiberglass mesh tape applied over them before being plastered. Plastering is a special part of the business. All walls are prepared until they are as smooth as possible. The exterior of your home is equally as important. Paint or stain does not only create a new look, but it is to protect your wood from rot. We make sure that all loose paint and caulk is removed. All bare wood is then primed before the final coat of paint or stain is applied. Any gaps on the exterior of your home are also recaulked with a high quality caulk.

History

Established in 2011.

My father started the business 40 years ago. He taught me that reputation is the most important element in business. I hope to continue his tradition of a hard work ethic and trust. I have been painting and wallpapering for almost 20 years and hope to make my father proud by surpassing the quality that he provided.

I am married, the father of two children and have a B.S.in Biology. After college, I joined the Peace Corps teaching farmers alternative faming methods. When I retured home, I began working for my father full-time and never looked back. I am currently on the Board of Directors of Together We Cope, a homeless prevention organization located in Tinley Park, and I also serve on the school board of St. George School.

Meticulous, friendly, and professional. I have used Patrick’s Decorating for over 10 years and I truly consider them friends as well as a top notch service provider. They have painted every room in my house throughout the years and the work is always perfect. The amount of time spent prepping the walls is unbelievable and the finished product is perfect! I was having the interior of my house painted and wall paper hung by another professional. He became ill and was not going to be able to hang the wall paper. I had purchased grass cloth wall paper from Just Wallpaper which is very difficult to hang. At the last minute I had to try and find someone who knew how to hang grass cloth and who was also available. The great people of Just Wallpaper gave me a couple names of professionals who were highly qualified to do the job. I gave both of them a call and Patrick’s Decorating was one of the two. The first company came and gave me an estimate the same day and it was OK.
Kevin from Patrick’s Decorating called me back as well and by chance he was working in my neighborhood and would be able to give me an estimate the next day. Kevin arrived on time and was wonderful from the time he walked through the door. I knew he cared when he immediately went to take off his shoes. So many people do not care like he does. Kevin is very personable and really knows what he is talking about. We struck up a conversation and it was like we were long time friends. Kevin emailed me his quote right away and he was available to start the following week after my original painters were finished. The job was scheduled to take two days.
Kevin arrived on time both days and he arrived ready to work. We have an old home in Blue Island so it is not an easy place to work on (I am sure Kevin would agree with me). Kevin was up to the challenge and he succeeded beyond my hopes and expectations. Kevin is very meticulous with his work and he is very determined the job is done with precision. He was so into his work he worked right through lunch even though I kept reminding him to eat. Kevin even liked to talk while he worked and I really enjoyed getting to know him. I felt so comfortable with him I had no worries leaving him in my home when I had to run out on an errand. He was also very good with our dog who can be very annoying.
I cannot say enough good things about Kevin and Patrick’s Decorating. He came through for me in a pinch and I could not be more pleased with his work. I would definitely hire him again. It is also nice when you hire someone for a job and then you feel like you have also made a new friend. GREAT JOB PATRICK“S DECORATING!!!
