I have been going there for years and have never been disappointed. Best Chinese food in town and one of my favorite restaurants overall!

This is hands down some of the best Chinese food in Toledo. The restaurant has a rich and traditional décor, and the booths are tucked into the walls in a very romantic and cozy way. What really makes this place shine, however, is the food. They have some very unique dishes such as the Hot Garlic Chicken, which is a sweet and spicy chicken dish like no other(I highly recommend it!). I’ve never tasted anything like it at any other Chinese restaurant. Their Hot and Sour soup is also some of the best I have ever tried, richly flavorful and filled with mushrooms, vegetables, and little shrimp. Sometimes, when I’m feeling under the weather, I will stop by to pick up a serving of this soup with a little chili oil to clear me up — it’s incredibly comforting! Their menu also carries some more exotic and traditional dishes, which is always a good sign of authenticity at a Chinese restaurant. While Jing Chuan’s prices are little higher than the typical Chinese joint, they are reflective of the high quality of food and decent portion sizes that they serve. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Toledo area!

Decided to take my mother-in-law to Jing Chuan for a Christmas Eve lunch. This place is one of her favorites and she says the Mongolian Beef is real tasty. Upon entering I noted the décor was total 70s and in desperate need of a revamp. Unless very outdated Chinese restaurant is what they are going for, then they’ve nailed it. I had the General Tso chicken lunch portion which i found was tasty overall, no complaints. Asked the server for low sodium soy sauce and he said they don’t have. Really? How can a Chinese restaurant not have the green top Kikkoman?

We always enjoy our visits to this establishment. Starting with the flaming volcano drink we enjoyed the entire dinner. Crab Rangoon was spot on and tasty. We opted for one of the combos for two. It came with hot & spicy soup(delicious), spring rolls(tasty), Mongolian beef(very very good) & garlic chicken(good as well). No complaints at all. Service was spot on and we look forward to our next visit.

This place is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in town. You will not be disappointed with their food. FYI all of their soups are insanely tasty. My favorite dish is Hot Plate Beef. Super delicious. Get ready for the show too.

I had great Chinese authentic food in Ohio. The soups are fresh made such as hot & sour soup. We had Mogolian beef and General Tsao chicken which are perfect combination. I am highly recommend it.

This place is just ok. Eat here many years ago & it was«PHENOMENAL!» Went recently & it was mediocre. Service was not the best & restaurant didn’t seem clean, nor well kept. First trip would’ve been 5 stars & last trip 1 star, so we’ll just meet in the middle?

Jing Chuan has been a great place for traditional and americanized Chinese food in Toledo for many years. It’s a great place to go if you want to try some traditional Chinese. There are few Chinese restaurants that serve traditional Chinese in Toledo. They also have a menu in Chinese if you have Asian friends who are looking for a good place to try. Over the years prices have gone up a little, portions have decreased slightly, but I’ve always enjoyed the food and service here.

we had recently started going back and accepting the fact that times change and restaurants can fade and never come back to their former glory. we accepted the smaller portions, the less skilled servers and the high temperatures in the summer when they turn the ac off. the food tasted ok, not great like years ago but still ok. Tonight was out final visit to this establishment, we ordered hot tea(which is not included with the meal any longer) when my wife added sugar to her tea she noticed there was dried food on her spoon and we asked for another cup and a clean spoon. The waiter didn’t try to apologize or any thing he just kept looking down at the floor, we waited about 5 minutes for her new cup. the high point was the sizzling rice soup was very good. when the waiter brought out our dinner plates we mentioned that i did not get the spring roll I ordered, again no apology just more staring at the floor. when they brought my spring roll i looked at the sweet and sour sauce there there was a very obvious dead bug floating on the sauce! we lost our appetite and went up to the bar and told them there was a bug in our food and we were leaving we asked how much we owed for the soup and the tea, the manager? asked if we were sure it a bug. i went back to the table and brought the sauce to the bar and pointed at it and said that is a bug. The manager? said well it must have flown in there, I stated it didn’t look it swam there. again no sorry no sign of concern. we walked out. it was a really sad night, this used to be our favorite restaurant, we have eaten here more than 75 times. It is pretty obvious the management has given up! Goodbye old friend.

We had Hunan beef and Champon. Both were on the tasty side but not delicious. We ordered tea and it was a was a few dollars extra, it is included at most Chinese restaurants. The interior is old style Chinese restaurant décor which has character, but the price was more for a nicer place like PF Chiangs. I still prefer New Empire, better food, cheaper and a little nicer place. If they lowered the price it would make this place more appealing..

Very good food, pricing was good for the amount of food you get and the staff was very nice. Pretty much the best you can get in Toledo. I recommend.

On our way back to MI, we stopped here for lunch. I had decent hopes of a good lunch since this place has fairly good reviews overall. It was definitely busy! It’s a pretty big restaurant. It seems like they do quite a bit of business for the area. They have a pretty big menu. Soup is served family style in fairly large bowl. I’m pretty sure the serving for 2 could serve more than 4 people. The hot & sour tasted more like Tom Yum, but it was decent. I wasn’t a fan of the shrimp in it though. My husband and his mom really liked the Won Ton soup, which I didn’t have a chance to taste. I ordered General Tso’s Chicken and requested it spicy. This is always a huge fail when I order this off of an Americanized menu. I’m not sure why yet I always try. It was not so good. My dish had about 5 pieces of chicken. The other plates ordered at the table were huge. I’m not sure why I had such a tiny portion. Other dishes that were ordered were Mongolian Beef, Beef and Broccoli, and Cashew Chicken. They were just OK. There was no shortage of sodium. Service was pretty slow. Our waitress was nice, but it was difficult to communicate with her. She talked my mother-in-law out of ordering chicken lo mein because their version of the dish is not the typical dish. I think they serve it with fried noodles? I’m not sure. Our waitress was fairly adamant that she ordered something else. It was kind of weird. It was not the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had, but I have no desire to go back the next time we pass through Toledo.

I went there last night for dinner with my family. We went in and we seer seated right away. The table was already set up for us. The server came out right away with some water. Everything seemed clean. Very nice atmosphere. The soup came out a few minutes later. The soup was good but didn’t have many wantons. Other than that I can complain. The food was very good. Service was OUTSTANDING! I’ll definitely be there again

I have been here twice now and I feel I can finally give a review. The food is bland and I feel they really over charge. I got a General Tso plate my first time, then I went very simple sweet and sour chicken the next. It was just forgettable and for the price I was paying I expect better. The décor is not too bad and the staff seem friendly but the food is just not there.

This is clearly the best Chinese Restaurant in Toledo. All items on the menu seem to be a hit. Every dish is authentic and has flavor. The prices and service are also fantastic. I highly recommend Jing Chuan. Try it for yourself, and you won’t go anywhere else!

I’ve eaten here several times before and my husband and I treated it as our«special occassion» restaurant. Until I ordered orange beef(it’s got a rock sugar sauce) and they burnt the crap out of the sauce, and still served it to us anyways. I complained, and they only gave me half off. They served me a burnt dish, didn’t see it was burnt, and when I complained they didn’t take responsibility.

One of the worst Chinese food experiences I’ve had to date goes to Jing Chuan. Some internship colleagues of mine offered to buy me lunch here one afternoon on a business meeting. They kept telling me how great it was, so I obliged. I’m very glad I was not the one flipping the bill for this slop. We went for lunch, and the restaurant was literally completely empty. The dining room had very old and dusty décor and the place seemed very dark and dirty. Service was incredibly slow for having been the only 4 people in the restaurant. I ordered a basic meat and veggie dish and if it wasn’t for the extremely overwhelming taste of sodium, there would have been no flavor at all. The egg roll was mostly just heavily breaded, crusty, inedible garbage. Same with the chicken wing.(I think it was supposed to be a chicken wing.) I reluctantly finished most of my food, as to be polite around coworkers, but I actually stopped at a fast food place on the way back to the office, just to eat something enjoyable. Yes, it was so bad, I’m calling fast food ‘enjoyable’ compared to Jing Chuan.

When you walk into Jing Chuan you enter a huge restaurant filled with dated, somewhat tacky, extravagant Chinese décor. The menus are old and have not been updated in years. This is not why you go to Jing Chuan. The food brings you here, When I was living in Toledo, Jing Chun was my go-to Chinese restaurant. Whatever you get of of their expansive menu is fantastic. KungPow chicken, peppered scallops, Mongolian beef, it is all delicious. Their hot and sour soup is my favorite in the city. I have never been a fan of their appetizers though. Their crab rangoon leaves something to be desired and their egg rolls are pretty standard. I do love the paper wrapped beef, chunks of beef marinated and cooked in little foil pouches. The serves at Jing Chuan are not overly friendly, but they are definitely on top of things. They always make sure my water is full and my food comes out fast. I have had many servers here and they have all been very good. The only reason Jing Chuan gets 4 instead of 5 stars is the takeout. I feel that the quality of food they package for to-go does not live up to what you eat in restaurant. This may be an illusion, but just do yourself a favor and eat in restaurant to get the full level of delicousness.
