My mom’s family has been buying specialty meats for decades at Kilgus Meats in Toledo. A favorite (among many) is their landjaeger. I now live in the Sacramento, CA area and wanted to ship them to my dad in Northern Ohio as a special gift on father’s day. Talked to Bill and he took care of everything, my dad (& mom) were so surprised and appreciative. What great customer service! Now I’m wondering what other of Kilgus’ specialty meats I can ship. Mmmmm, blood sausage to my uncle in Montana?

Excellent customer service — excellent quality. It’s too bad there aren’t more independent European-​style butchers around.
Kilgus has a fantastic variety of meats and lunch meats, and lots of ethnic and hard to find stuff. Their kielbasa rocks and their smoked ham shanks are awesome as well.
Kilgus carry schinken, Lebanese bologna and many other other German and Polish specialty meats. They make their own kiszka and Hungarian hot dogs as well.
I live in Perrysburg, and for me it’s worth the trip every couple of weeks to cruise over to Kilgus to stock up.
