The Casting Network

As a direct result of TCN, I have booked three dozen television shows and a few films. I can’t speak highly enough of the beautiful location, the awesome staff and the quality of top notch actors who do the workshops.

Listen to me! This is the ONLY place in Los Angeles I would go to. I have a 9 year old daughter and I 100% trust Jaret and his team with her training and with her self esteem. She comes out of classes on a cloud of happiness and can’t wait to go back. I call him my Sensei because he has the best advice on everything from head shots to wardrobe. The entire process of commercial auditions is completely and kindly taught. I can’t recommend him and his team enough. After 8 weeks my kid is already getting in front of agents. Spread the word!

I am giving 5 stars mainly because of results! After attending Killians Workshop Foundation class I was eager to show my developing talents in front of Agents for possible representation. I saw many different showcases to choose from and I was hesitant to attend just any showcase because of the stories of less than reputable agents just attending showcases to make extra money with no intention of added new talent to their rosters. When I saw that Jaret and Rene were hosting a Commercial Talent Agent Showcase I jumped at the opportunity and reserved my seat! The 5 agents that attended were all top notch and really there to consider new talent for their roster. The first day, with Rene was like bootcamp, which if you’re serious about your commercial acting career, this is just the guidance you need. She quickly accessed our headshots and reumes and gave necessary direction for changes. Then Rene helped match us all with appropriate copy for our types, one a spokesperson piece, and another couple of multi person pieces. We then performed our copy and was coached and directed and educated on the best way to perform. After a long first day, we came back more prepared than ever! The second night we all came in early to do a dry run with Jaret and educated on how the event would run. Then the agents came in to watch the «showcase». We all brought our A game and the room was full of laughs and support! Next the agents did an extremely informative Q & A with some extra pertinent info on how they operate and the commercial business in general, extremely valuable! We left with the knowledge, experience, and 5 top agents who are looking for fresh new talents that got to see us perform at our best firsthand and knowledge of how to follow up with them all for a meeting. My personal experience was this… The next day after my showcase, I got a call from Prestige Talent Agency and set up a meeting, then the day after that I got a call from KSA Agency and set up a meeting, then the third day after I got called from Daniel Hoff Agency and set up a meeting. During my research, i knew who I wanted to work with, however I met with them all and made the tough decision, but right decision for me and was signed the week after my showcase with Prestige Talent Agency! If it wasn’t for the reputable source and Showcase of The Casting Network, I may still be sending out my headshot and resumes to Agencies in hope of breaking through the mass of mailings to get noticed and get a first meeting! Thank you Jaret and Rene and the folks at TCN for the tremendous work and support. I feel like I have new team members of my business to use for future support!

The Casting Network in my opinion is the best actors workshop venue in all of LA. The staff is very professional and you just know that you’re in good hands.
They help you choose the right material that best showcases your type. And prepare you so that you do your best when performing for the agents.
I also appreciate that the Q&A with the agents is after the actors performance. Keeping a nice flow throughout.
The space is welcoming and so you feel at home. And the experience throughout the entire workshop was warm and supportive from everyone involved all around.
Whether you get called in from an agent or not after the workshop is neither here or there. You are given so much valuable information in the workshop that you know your money was well spent.
With that said I did get a call from an agent and was signed.

A fellow actress and good friend of mine suggested going to some of the workshops at TCN and sent an e-​mail over to Amy who was very welcoming in introducing me to the website (which is free by the way — cha-​ching!). I am not tech savvy so I had to call them a lot to find out how to RSVP to a showcase (even though it says in the upper right corner this very information), how to put up my headshot, etc. Let me tell you this put me sooooo much at ease because EVERYONE there is so nice and helpful even when I was asking the dumbest of questions.
I am leery of workshops because in Hollywood you never know if it’s a scam for money, or even legit people who could help your career, but TCN is the reason why I have a manager today and even have offered free workshops that help you prep for the big showcases! The readers are not drab and are actors themselves so it’s easy to feed off of their energy and not have to work harder as you would with someone who didn’t give a flying fig but is just being paid to be a reader.
I’m not going to lie, the first few times weren’t great — but that was on me. The casting directors and agents were all very helpful and made suggestions as to what kind of scripts I should be bringing in, what head shots fit for commercial or theatrical they were looking for, etc. My first «Agent/​Manager» showcase I bombed. I was having an off day and was nervous and once I got the feedback from the agents and managers (you get a piece of paper at the end of those grading you and telling you whether or not they can use you at their agency). You go in with groups of other actors and perform in front of them as well. Well, on a grade of A, B or C — I admit I got all B’s and none of the five or six agents/​managers wanted me. I was crushed.
But ready to learn why I gave The Casting Network 5 Stars at the drop of a hat… After feeling defeated after bombing and thinking about taking a break from acting, I got a phone call from Marcia (I know it’s an M name and I’m sorry if it’s Marsha or something else I can’t think of off the top of my head) saying, I know you may not have had much success with the last showcase but you made some great choices and I HIGHLY recommend you come to the one on ones with these agents and managers tonight. Trust me, this is going to be great for you. I was NOT planning on going to that at all, but my gut told me to go anyway and low and behold I found my manager that night! Had it not been for that phone call that she went out of her way to call me I don’t believe I’d have the amazing representation I do today. Facé has gotten me so many auditions and my career has taken off!
The only bummer part is the distance and the traffic since it’s in the Valley — but just leave a little bit earlier. TRUST ME it has been worth every penny (it’s not very expensive at all and they sell packages to give you more bang for your buck). I will be going to a showcase tomorrow night so I can’t wait to see some of my favorite faces then!

I attended my first Agent showcase at TCN, and was very pleased with the preparation for it! What I loved most about it, was that they treated OUR careers as if it were actually theirs; delicately and with importance. Time was taken when selecting commercial sides for each actor. If it didn’t fit our type, we were given one that did. Great feedback was given on headshots and resumes, as well.
Performance day we were given time to practice, and also given support and feedback. There are a lot of workshops, classes, industry people, who scam future entertainers out of money – you don’t get that here. You get a genuine interest in your career.
The showcase was very well put together and I had a fun time! Also signed with a new agency :)

I took a commercial agent showcase workshop at The Casting Network and had an excellent experience. The teachers, Rene and Jaret, were thorough, insightful and supportive. They knew what they were doing and also, they made it fun. They really wanted to create an environment where actors could do their best work. The absolute bonus for me was I ended up meeting and signing with a great agency. My new agent also loved their format and working with them. Thank you, The Casting Network!

I have nothing but positive things to say about The Casting Network workshops. I have been going there for a year and have always had a positive experience. Each casting director I have read for has given me such positive feedback and great advice and suggestions to help further my career. The Casting Network is a great place to build relationships with the casting directors and casting offices.

My three kids – ages 6, 7 and 9 – all just took Jaret’s kid’s commercial workshop. It was a 4 Saturdays, 90 min each. I feel it was a great class. It’s a touchy thing to teach kids how to «act» at an audition when that is actually the last thing you want them to do. My kids have all worked commercially and I wanted to give them more tools but at the same time, I didn’t want to fix something that wasn’t broken.
I think Jaret had a perfect understanding of that and really geared the lessons towards activities which taught in an indirect way and made ‘fun’ the focus of it. That was exactly what I wanted. That Karate Kid style where they think they are just painting the fence and waxing the car but actually learning their craft and understanding what improv is, being in the moment and using your imagination to create a world for yourself.
I know they enjoyed it because of their mood when I would pick them up. Super happy.
I would/​will def recommend the class to other moms. I have asked the kids about how they felt about the class but mostly they tell me what they did and that it was fun. I don’t know if I can get much out of them that would help to hone the class in any way. Honestly, I thought it was great and I have no negative feedback at all. Also loved that the class was so small. It was just the three of them and 2 other kids.

A warm, supportive atmosphere of professional actors. You really feel like «we’re in it together» at TCN. They offer so many services to help you succeed in workshops, like free scene coaching every month, pre-​reads before reading in front of the casting director, and guidance on which guests are the best fit for my goals. Plus, they have good prices and special deals. Oh, and they schedule your appointments with the CD’s, so you are not sitting around all night waiting in line. I feel my time is respected here.
My daughter did the Kids Commercial Class with Jaret and absolutely loved it.

I had the pleasure of participating in the Commercial Agent showcase with with Rene and Jaret. Rene’s prep session was amazing — she is incredibly well organized, and was able to match actors with great copy and complementary scene partners. Jaret is encouraging and supportive and created a fun and relaxed environment for the actors and agents. Both Jaret and Rene made what could have been a stressful event a fun, incredibly well run, and very polished showcase that I was very pleased to be a part of. Highly recommended and at a very fair price.

I had the pleasure of taking a commercial class with Jaret Sacrey, and now once again a commercial showcase. He is very professional, down to earth, knows his stuff, but more importantly he really cares… kinda rare. I’ll keep coming here for that reason alone. You can go to a lot of different places for workshops but like anyone you want to work or give your business to good people that know their stuff. The Casting Network is great.

I have truly enjoyed every minute spent working with Jaret Sacrey from my commercial workshop class to my commercial showcase. He helps you understand all that you need to know in a way you can fully understand and in the most caring way possible. His genuine personality expresses the true colors of his motives which is to help each and every one of his students grow and succeed so we all reach our full potential. Rene Ashton above and beyond a triple threat: brilliant actress, writer, producer — she’s also a powerhouse of a business woman. The Casting Network has deep and trusted relationships with the most respected casting directors in Los Angeles. Actors love it there! You learn a ton, make connections, which, for me, has generated continued many working relationships in the entertainment industry! The Casting Director Showcases are truly spectacular!

I’ve been going to TCN since 2001.
They make actors audition before they can do workshops, which is nice because the last thing you want is to pay money to read for a casting director and then get paired with someone terrible.
Since the new owners took over the shop they’ve upgraded the facilities and it’s a nicer location and ambiance.
You see a lot of the same faces in workshops here, which is nice since they’re all great people, in my experience. Even after not attending workshops for a period of time I can show up and see someone I’m friendly with.
The casting directors they get in are great and the way the team is running the workshops is efficient, professional and friendly. As much as I want to be there I also have lots of other stuff to get done so I appreciate that.
I also like that they are offering great deals on workshops now and letting you come in and see multiple offices in one fell swoop. I like experiencing the whole workshop and hearing what the casting director has to say about their experience, their office, their shows and all their insight but I’m also a full time grad student and being able to knock out several in one night makes it possible for me to keep in touch with and meet new offices where I might not otherwise be able to keep up as well.

What can I say!!! They’re AWESOME! Really great CD workshop place because they understand that we have LIVES and have re-​created the «one-​on-​one» to make my life a bit easier… which I SOOOO appreciate! No brainer, put this place on your «MUST DO LIST.» :)

I have been with The Casting Network for over 10 years and the last year and a half I have been exclusively with them. The Casting Directors are wonderful, informative and helpful. My auditioning skills have consistently improved and I am landing gigs faster because of it. I also met my agent here and could not be happier!
The way to use workshops is to get the CD’s to be your fan. That is easy when you are at a place that cheers for your success! Rene’ is passionate about this business and getting only the best for the actors here. She cheers with all of us on our successes!
She believes in this enough so that she keeps the costs down to ensure as many actors as possible can reap the benefits of the great guests she brings in.

Of all the various places I’ve taken casting workshops – (and I’ve tried most!), The Casting Network (TCN) is by far my favorite. They have absolutely the lowest prices — often half of what you’ll pay to see the SAME people elsewhere. The best way to maximize casting workshop results, in my opinion, is to do them consistently, which can be a BIG expense for an actor. TCN is the best at making workshops affordable for an actor, and that is a huge plus.
As well, I think you get a lot more personal attention there. You read your scene through with the reader ahead of time so you’re comfortable; you can request a time to come in for the one-​on-​one, so you don’t have to wait around all night to read; and the readers and staff at TCN are incredibly supportive and warm. I have been called in many times by the various c.d.‘s I’ve met there and booked several t.v. gigs as a result.

I have tried several workshops over the past four years and The Casting Network is the one that makes me feel respected and a valuable client. The level of professionalism is beyond what I’ve found elsewhere. The owner goes above and beyond because she really believes that our success is her success.
I have booked two network co-​stars, a feature opposite Beau Bridges and both my agents (commercial and theatrical) as a result of meeting and maintaining relationships through workshops.
Acting classes are extremely important to continue but they don’t prepare you for the ‘in-​your-​face reality’ of auditioning. The availability of these workshops allows an actor to continue to sharpen the skills needed. Every CD is different and their demands are as varied. CD’s appreciate an actor who is prepared and understands what is expected. How would we know these without the workshops? It’s a win-​win!
The Casting Network is a safe and supportive playground. As several have already stated, the prices are competitive and actually lead the market in affordability. I tried the rest and now I go to the best!

I took my first workshop at TCN last night. I was warmly welcomed by the owner as well as the actors on staff. They have a very warm, light vibe in the office and it feels like they genuinely want to see their actors succeed.
It’s also a HUGE bonus that they have records of every TCN guest’s preferences so if you have an audition coming up, you can research what that office likes or what to avoid. That’s priceless!
I am a bit adverse to the pay to play model, however, TCN has great prices and runs specials to offer actors on a budget options. They are running a business, but it is run with integrity vs price gouging.
It was also really nice to have the one on one time with the CD. This gives each actor a chance to shine in their own light.
