Once Upon A Dance

A beautiful and great school! My daughter and her classmates love going there, and the teachers and owners constantly go out of their way to make us & all of the students and their families happy. We’ve had a great experience over the years, and after comparing with other dance schools we’ve been to this is definitely one of the best around!

Loved this school on the beginning. So personable. The owners, a Mother daughter team, were truly a dynamic duo! Over the past two years the mother seems to not be visible. Recently, it seems they have ‘bitten off more than they can chew’. The only performance classes offered for my daughter’s age group are at 4:15pm –different classes on different days (not the dream of a working mom!). I understand that we can not do everything but this time we can not do ANYTHING!!! Giving them the benefit of the doubt (thinking they may not have realized this) I brought this to their attention– to which they responded– «the schedule is set as is» After someone else complained the schedule was slightly adjusted (by 15 minutes!)-Why was the «schedule set as is» for me and not for others???-am I the only working mother??? So would I recommend? Yes, it is a great school for the non working Mom. (And for kids that may get off the bus before 4pm). If you don’t voice your dissatisfaction (even though you may be). If you just put up with everything you will be fine! Try to ask them a question… don’t bother, it is their way or the highway (well, depending on who you are!). (My daughter dropped out for one season and it seemed to be held against her – many nights of tears! Blatantly lied to! «we are not having tap in the show for your age group» (but we will let your friend the same age be in it –just not you! – explain this to a six year old!). As long as you are happy about EVERYTHING, you are good! If you say you are unhappy about something, the owner/​instructor (in her 30’s) will get her Mommy (wait! she’s back!!!) and they will apologize (but basically that is the way it is) or «perhaps our school is not truly the place for you!» (Very unprofessional and rude comment) Guess she may be right!!! Actually compared a grown woman in her 30’s being upset to a 6 year old being upset! The unprofessionalism speaks volumes! What a shame!
