Very expensive for what you get and the«Cash only» policy make it a store that I stay away from.

It used to be better… I got my usual flavor and it was softer than soft serve! I went back in and politely let them know that it wasn’t hard enough and instead I got«that’s our softest flavor.» I told them that I always get that flavor and it has never looked this way but they seemed to not care and replaced it with something else half the size. Poor customer service and it seems that they are reducing their sizes but keeping the price the same. Goodbye, Rich’s! Will never return…

Delicious homemade ice-cream and unique creations. This is our favorite place to stop on our way home from the beach(we even make the u-turn for it!). Portions are crazy big, so go for the smallest size! My favorite is the cone-oli(vanilla soft serve over smashed up cannoli in a waffle cone). There’s no place to sit inside but there are benches outside near the street.

This is my go to place for a chocolate malt. The whole establishment is impeccably clean and the ice cream is consistently good. Their cones with candy on them are a little too sweet for me(too much candy for my taste, but I imagine kids would love them), but their shakes are to die for.

This place is amazing. Best soft-serve I’ve EVER had. Everything is great here and they make a lot of custom ice cream treats. The owner is very nice and professional and always working as fast as she can to move that line. The flurries are awesome. My favorite is the cannoli. Everyone I’ve taken here has loved it and said the ice cream was really good.

First thing you want to do when you walk in is to grab a number from the right side of the counter. The quality of ice cream here is great. There is also a freezer full of custom ice cream creations on the left side. I get the Rich Wich aka chipwich a lot. Make sure you yell bingo and throw your hands in the air like you just don’t care when they yell your number. Your enthusiasm for Rich’s ice cream will make it taste that much better.

Best ice cream shop in New Jersey and one of, if not the best in the country. Delicious hand made ice cream with a limitless choice of toppings. Awesome ice cream cakes, specialty bars, sandwiches and sundaes. If you’re at the shore for whatever reason, make it a point to hit Rich’s. A jersey shore favorite for 60+ years.

After the disappointing news that Rich’s I was forever out of business, we switched to Rich’s II. The distinct difference between the two shops is the focus on soft vs. hard ice cream. Rich’s I focused on unique soft-serve flavors(like banana, coffee, and pumpkin) while Rich’s II focuses on hard ice cream. I apologize for the nostalgic comment with we really do miss Rich’s I! In any event, if hard ice cream is your preferred choice, Rich’s II has you covered. They have everything from classic vanilla and chocolate to unique flavors like hazelnut cappuccino; not to mention, they offer both white AND green mint chip! They also carry a ton of both wet and dry toppings on hand, so your ice cream sundae knows no limit to combinations. I’m also impressed with their range of ice ream cakes, ice cream bars, and ice cream sandwiches. This place is always packed, but it’s worth to make the trip out on 37 to try it. It’s not too expensive and there’s something to please even the pickiest of ice cream eaters.

My family was looking forward to enjoying an annual family tradition of going to Rich’s. Last year, we happened to go on a day when they were offering buy one, get one free gelati. We delayed going to Rich’s until we could take advantage of the awesome deal again. We went today at 12:40 and saw it didn’t open until 1. We were surprised by that but waited it out and were one of only two families to go inside. The owner/manager was very pushy, and tried to rush both families through our orders before we had a chance to decide what we wanted(again, only two families, not a massive line). The owner/manager continued to be rude and try to rush us and even skimped out on two of the gelatis(halfway full). I’ve been a loyal customer for years and thankfully have had many fond memories of both the original Rich’s and this one. If I was a first time customer, I would not return. I hope that the owner/manager was having a bad day and this is not how the place is ordinarily run. No one should be that cranky with the first customers of the day!

This place is gross. Lots of their offerings sounded unique and delicious and my group of 4 was excited to try it out. The average menu item was around $ 7. When we received our orders we saw why – the portions are HUGE, but we were up for the challenge. I had the cone-oli. It was filled with soft serve that had the strangest consistency, sort of like fake whipped cream. The cannoli filling was way too sweet and did not seem to have any mascarpone in it. I got about three bites in before I was unable to continue. My friend got a sundae with the hard ice cream, which was a little better but still not very good. We all ended up throwing our ice cream away(very very sad). I felt like I needed to review to add a little balance… this stuff is definitely not for everyone! If I ever went back I would stick with a plain cone w/hard ice cream.

I look forward to stopping here in the spring and summer months… I have been a good customer for a few years. The ice cream is good, the unique treats like the Richie Bar and ice cream sandwiches are delicious. The one thing that never changes, is that the staff is snippy and unfriendly. They are a very youthful group who should be taught how to be friendly to the customers. They act like they’re doing you a big favor. Shame.

The ONLY place I ever eat ice cream. So fresh, creamy and yummy! Service is outstanding and cleanliness is exceptional. My favorite is the toasted coconut.

Haven’t had a 5 star’er in a long time. This is a 4.5. I haven’t had custard style like this in a long time. It even beats my old favorite, Carvel, as recently it seems Carvel might have changed their recipe. Vanilla and chocolate soft serve had the best texture ever — very airy and creamy. Good flavor. Also tried their hard ice cream which was pretty excellent. Liked that the daughter here makes all the ice cream — her parents were the original owners. How cool! Wish I lived nearby — I would go here all the time!

Rich’s II is a very clean and attractive ice cream parlour, with top quality house-made offerings. The staff is quite friendly and outgoing, even when you catch them near closing time in the off-season. The place could benefit from some better outdoor seating, but given the layout of the small plaza in which it is located, there isn’t much to be done about that. The pricing, as the previous reviewer mentioned, runs a bit high, but is justified by the quality of the product. Being locally owned and operated, and part of a tradition going back to the 1950’s, this is precisely the kind of business I like to patronize. It makes me wish I liked ice cream more. This location has been going strong for fifteen years, and it’s one of the lighthouses amidst a sea of high turnover and sometimes vacant storefronts.

Yum, yum, yum. I love Rich’s II. It’s right next to Island Café(look for the Coldwell Bank sign before the strip mall) and even if I’m stuffed from Island, I love to go to Rich’s. Ok, first, Tuesdays and Thursdays are buy-one-get-one on their Gelatto. So, definitely get that. It’s water ice layered with frozen yogurt and so yummy! They also have a ton of flurry varieties and I think their prices are a little high for flurries(starting at $ 5ish) but they have some pretty tempting signs advertising them inside. They also have frozen desserts a la Dairy Queen such as ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cakes, and some pretty sinful looking cookie dough bars. The ice cream has normal and cool varieties and is delicious. They have old fashion vanilla next to key lime pie and cotton candy(though not the sickeningly sweet kind, something really delicious!). The servers are friendly and efficient. They have numbers to make it more orderly even when it’s crowded. I had the above mentioned cotton candy and key lime pie in a cone. Their prices are typical for the shore but this was a huge size small! The girl was shaking a little holding it! We got two smalls(two flavors in a small is 0.56 extra) and a milk shake for $ 13. A little high but soooo worth it!
