Trapped – A Buffalo Escape Room Experience

Been here twice now and absolutely love it. Both rooms we have done have been challenging and fun. My friends and I look forward to doing the next room and to see what rooms are created in the future.

Owners should provide a trigger warning to folks regarding the WWII themed room. Speakers blast sound effects including soldiers marching and planes flying overhead dropping bombs. Not a fun and entertaining atmosphere and really detracts from the teamwork goal our group had.

So much fun! The puzzles were hard and we needed help from the Trapped moderators but we did end up solving it. Room 9 is a great puzzle and had something for everyone.

We did Trapped as a family event when my daughter came into town. We were all nervous about going and making ourselves look like fools but the workers made us feel at home. We rocked room #9 in 40 min. Thanks for a great experience I recommend that everyone give it a try.

I had very high expectations going in and the WWII themed escape room at Trapped exceeded my expectations. The folks at Trapped absolutely nailed it, from the décor to the soundtrack to the content of the puzzles, the experience was excellent.
Our group of 6 felt that the puzzles were challenging and rewarding. Everyone agreed that the room left them with adrenaline pumping and a great sense of accomplishment. We were able to finish the room in 52 minutes and those last 5 or so minutes felt like a scramble to put all of the pieces together and escape the room. The difficulty of the room was such that nothing ever felt impossible, but there were certainly moments where we wondered whether we were totally on the wrong track.
It felt like a great deal of care was taken to ensure that the puzzles fit with the theme of the room and the product was a truly immersive experience.
I cannot wait to be back in Buffalo to try another of the Trapped rooms.
As a note, some people that we mentioned the idea to expressed concerns about being claustrophobic, however, we found that the room didn’t feel that way and I think the majority of people would not feel claustrophobic.

We had a 2 groups totalling 15 people, and What Fun… We had 8 in the ww2 room and we were one lock away from escaping! The spooky hotel room group excaped with 6 minutes to spare. The room was a little warm and lighting was low (part of the effects) and flashlights were included. Everyone had something to contribute and we all loved the experience. We will definatelly do this again.

Did the WWII Room with a group of five friends. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, especially considering I tend to avoid enclosed spaces. It’s difficult to describe the experience without giving anything away, but we were really pleasantly surprised with the variety of puzzles and the quality of the props in the room. The briefing was concise and didn’t give any hints. Unfortunately we weren’t able to finish in time, but I’m convinced another fifteen minutes would have done it.
The owners were very pleasant and chatted with us ahead of our experience. I was excited to learn that they’ll be expanding with additional rooms soon; I’m looking forward to trying it out again.

Myself and three friends were eager to check out another escape room and decided on Trapped. We came on a Tuesday evening around 5:30 and were promptly taken back for a quick briefing about the room we were going to try to escape from and some general rules/​guidelines to abide by.
Escape rooms are pretty neat and they’re popping up all over Western New York! Our success rate at another Buffalo escape room wasn’t too great so we decided to try Room #9, rated medium difficulty by Trapped. We were fully immersed/​locked in the 4D escape room and began finding clues and using the elements of the room to try to escape within the hour time frame. Unfortunately, our success rate stayed dismal as we ultimately failed to escape Room #9. We were given a few different clues but we just weren’t able to figure out the final word to the final lock.
Don’t get me wrong, escaping or not does not make or break your experience. Even though we didn’t escape I still had a blast, thinking logically for an entire hour with friends. Escape rooms hold the potential for great bonding experiences while thinking critically. I think with one or two more people we might have been able to get out alive, muahaha.
I think I’m going to need some more practice before I even think about attempting Trapped’s other escape room, the Bunker. I’m definitely looking forward to their upcoming Harry Potter room… I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan :) Overall, this was a great experience and I highly recommend Trapped and escape rooms in general to anyone who likes a good challenge.
I did take off one star due to the chilly temperature in the waiting area and because I would have liked to know the name of the employee working at Trapped that evening. Unless I missed it, there wasn’t a formal greeting or introduction; it was more so getting down to business and locking us up!

This place was awesome! Staff is friendly and informative. Such a great entertaining thing to do. Group of 6 of us and we all contributed to finding clues or unlocking locks and had a great time! Highly recommend for all.

I can’t recommend Trapped enough! The owners were very welcoming, friendly, and enthusiastic. The puzzles and clues were clever and challenging. As another reviewer mentioned, the rush of figuring out a particular problem is addictive! I can’t wait to go again and tackle their other room and the rooms to come. My whole group had a wonderful time and achieved inflated senses of our own intelligence – it was money very well spent!

I came here with my 4 siblings (mid 20s — early 30s) after reserving the bunker room. We were pleasantly greeted by staff and debriefed on the protocol. We were told that most people have not made it out.
We were pumped and headed into our adventure! We were all impressed by the details and immediately got to work. The clues were very well written, the details helped us really get into the game, and the sound effects were a bonus throughout the experience. At times all five of us were working together and at others, we’d break off and work in smaller teams.
With a few minutes left, we were able to break all the codes and excitedly exit the bunker with the mission piece! All five of us were pumped and had a blast throughout the experience. This room was meticulously crafted and many of the puzzles required different skill sets — a nice way to get us all involved.
The staff was incredibly friendly, informative and clearly wanted us to have a great time. We certainly did! We had a blast and would absolutely return to check out the other room. Highly recommend Trapped for a fun outing!

We had a great time. We did room #9 and came real close with 4 of us think we would have got it with six. Or 15 more min. Worth every penny and will be back. Good night out fun. Also family friendly. Can’t wait to return they should be changing themes every six months or so. Recommend to all.
