Ortiz Law Office specializes in family law cases: divorce, paternity, child support, visitation. My goal from the start is to help you settle your case, to help you understand your rights, and more importantly, make sure you have a realistic expection of the possible results. Too often, attorneys tell potential clients what the client wants to hear, just to get hired. I consider it my job to be honest about your chances of achieving your goal.

My office is in Topeka, but I also travel to Jackson, Jefferson, Osage, Pott, Wabaunsee, Leavenworth, Riley, Geary… nearly every county within 100 miles. My rates are within reach for the average person because good representation in your legal case shouldn’t depend on whether you make a lot of money.

Martha Ortiz graduated from Kansas University in 1995 with a B. A degree, then obtained her J.D. from Washburn University School of Law. She has stayed in private practice since opening her office in October 1998 because she prefers to represent clients in the way she chooses, including being able to adjust fees when circumstances make that appropriate. She considers it her role as attorney to get her clients through the legal process, emotionally and mentally intact, as well as to protect their legal interests.
