History

Established in 1936.

Founded in 1936, Topeka Civic Theatre is the oldest continuously running community dinner theatre in the country. In July of 1999, TCTA completed construction of our new home in the former Gage Elementary School. The school was built around 1929 and is rich in architecture and design.

In 2013, TCTA began management of Helen Hocker Theater in Gage Park in cooperation with Shawnee County Parks and Recreation.

The theatre operates a total of three stages with productions on almost every weekend of the year.
