History

Established in 2005.

Advanced Flight was established to be different from the norm. Most flight schools have low time, inexperienced instructors who are simply looking to build time before they move on to other careers. These same low time instructors are used by most of the schools to fly their tours.

Advanced Flight is different by using only very high time pilots with thousands of hours of experience for both instruction and tours. Experience counts!

Simon Jones Owner & Chief Pilot

Simon has been flying for over 20 years and teaching in the R44 for 17 years. The past 14 years have been primarily focused on specialized advanced instruction in the Robinson R44 helicopter.

Robinson Helicopter Safety Course Instructor

Simon has also been an instructor for the Robinson Helicopter company’s Safety Course for the past 13 years.

He has over 12,000 hours in Robinson helicopters and over 10,000 in the R44. In 2005 Simon established Advanced Flight to provide experienced helicopter instruction in the R44 and combined this with on-​board cameras to create a truly unique and unsurpassed helicopter training environment.
