The clinic is owned and operated by Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) Mojca «Mo» Herman. Patients should know that Mo brings the same dedication and drive that she used to qualify for the Olympics to her clinic. It was a life long goal of Mo’s to run her own practice and deliver the highest quality care possible. Advanced Therapy Center is a reflection of that dream. Because we are a «therapist owned» practice we can provide the highest level of care without conflict of interest.

Advanced Therapy Center employs highly qualified therapists with extensive clinical experience. Our therapists work closely with referring physicians and patients to ensure optimal care and maximum recovery. We strive to have our patients quickly return to meaningful activities including work and recreational pursuits.

Mo H.

Business Owner

Mojca has over 17 years of clinical experience working in sports medicine, private practice, and hospital settings. Mojca is a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California’s Occupational Therapy Masters Program. She is engaged in research and is an author of both academic papers and books relating to hand therapy.

Prior to working in the field of hand and upper extremity therapy, Mojca was a world-​class swimmer and swam for USC and Canada. In 1988, she swam in the 200m butterfly at the Seoul Olympics and was ranked 1st in the world in that event in 1989.

Some years ago when my son injured a finger in an accident, he was referred to Advanced Therapy Center. His mother & I were very favorably impressed with the conscientious and compassionate care he received. He fully recovered. Three years ago, I tore the ulnar collateral ligament in my right thumb. After surgery, I required OT. The orthopedic surgeon wanted me to received treatment at the facility affiliated with his practice, but I insisted upon ATC. As with my son, my care was conscientious and effective. I achieved complete recovery and total utilization of my hand. Recently, I fractured the same previously injured right thumb in a bicycling accident. Following surgery, I’ve been again receiving OT, also again from Kim Ford. My thumb is healing well. I’m regaining ever increasing utility and strength. The office is clean, efficient, well-​run; a completely excellent therapeutic medical care facility!

The Center specializes in hand rehab/​therapy so I am so glad my surgeon referred me here. I came here for some physical therapy after having carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand. My thumb pad had atrophied because of this, so my hand and grip was very weak. You first come into the office for full assessment and then they determine your course of treatment and how often you come.
Kim did my assessment and was my lead therapist for the first part of my therapy. I came two times a week, and rarely had to wait for my appointment. I had a mix of heat treatments, strength exercises, ultrasound and massage. She was wonderful to work with and very skilled at this work. When Kim left on maternity leave, I was handed over to Katie who was also very good.
I had therapy for about 2 months and had great improvement in my strength and flexibility in my hand. The entire office staff and therapy assistants were all helpful and pleasant. I would highly recommend the Center to anyone needing these types of rehab.

I can’t say enough about my hand therapist Mo Herman. She is wonderful! I had surgery for gamekeepers thumb and began therapy a few weeks later. I had virtually no range of motion in my thumb and wrist as my hand was in a cast for 2 months. After working with Mo for a few short weeks my thumb had regained almost all of it’s range of motion and pain diminished. She was great with scheduling appointments for me and I never waited when coming to an appointment. She and her staff are wonderful and I would recommend her to anyone seeking an excellent hand therapist!

Working with Mo is awesome & well worth the drive for me. I live in Huntington Beach and prefer to drive to Los Angeles (Torrance) for my elbow injury. What a team of dedicated therapists! I have been to several clinics in the Los Angeles area and I’d have to say that Mo and her staff of therapists are the best in LA, and it’s not even close. They have tremendous experience and are great about setting up appointments around my schedule! Plus, not only do they provide amazing therapy that’s centered around the client, they educated me about what’s going on with my hand and gave me exercises to do at home. I attribute my recovery to them, thanks advanced therapy center!

Best hand therapist in Los Angeles. After being a bartender for way too long, I realized that I was experiencing pains in my hands. I found Mo by hitting the Internet and searching for best hand therapist in Los Angeles, (that’s the way you have to get it done these days.) SO glad that I now have ways to help with my pain and give my body some help too. Mo is the best in Los Angeles and now I can work those 9 hours, no problem. ;) AND on the way out from one of my appoinments, I saw signed pictures from some Los Angeles Clippers players. Pretty cool.

Many hand surgeons in the Los Angeles area send their patients to Advanced Therapy Center because the occupational therapists have great knowledge of what they are doing and are very passionate at what they do. Mo Herman has been an occupational therapist for more than 15 years and has worked with many hand and upper extremity injuries. You wont be disappointed, get treated now.

Best hand related physical therapist in the South Bay. Known and recommended by Hand surgeons from UCLA to the South bay. A professional privately owned practice not owned by a doctors where the patient comes first. In my case, I came in with a hand injury that was diagnosed by Mo Herman the Hand Therapist to be a combination of injury and Dupuytren’s Contracture or «Vikings Hand». I went and had surgery at UCLA followed by hand therapy at Advanced Therapy Center by Mo Herman. I had positive results based on the premise to fix it and move on. If you want it done right, use this Physical Therapist practice.

Mo is the best ! With her therapy I achieved 140 degree range of motion in my arm which was 20 degrees more than was expected from my surgeon. At every visit with Mo there was increased range of motion. Thank you Mo.

Best Hand therapy in torrance. Mo does an amazing job and is the preferred hand therapist for the los angeles clippers. I dont know about you but i would drive to torrance to receive top notch physical therapy. If the clippers trust Mo to be their hand therapist i definitely trust her capabilities.

Best hand physical therapist in Torrance. I cut my flexor tendons on a piece of glass and had 3 surgeries and 2 other hand therapists before finding Advanced Therapy Center. Mo the hand therapist is absolutely amazing. I am so glad I can move my hand again. I cannot imagine using another hand therapist. I recommend Mo to anyone that has sustained a hand, shoulder, or arm injury. She helped Chris Paul from the Clippers recover from his thumb injury. She specializes in rehabilitating athletes.
