Affordable Animal Clinic

This place is great. After reading mixed reviews I went in to take my 3 month old pup to get his next round of shots and a check up. I was surprised how inexspensive it was! Each being 15! And to top it off if you are a first time client your first check up is FREE!!! The wait was not that bad as people dread. As far as wait we were there for a total of an hour (since the time we pulled up to the time we rolled out) the doctor was quite friendly and was really quick. Paying less than 30 for the visit was just amazing. Another thing I felt great about was the emails they send about their current offers. I’m all about the coupons and the saving and coming back in two weeks I will surly be checking for the emails! I would definitely recommend this place. Be aware that this is a walk in clinic so be cautious that at some times you will wait a while. My advice is to come on a early weekday!

When our Labrador retriever tore her ACL, my husband and I were terrified at the amount the surgery cost to repair it at our (then) vet! Affordable animal performed the surgery at an affordable price and they were incredibly kind and attentive to us and our dog! We now go to their clinic for all of our veterinary needs! Although there is often a bit of a wait due to it being a low-​cost clinic, the doctors are knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.

This facility is less than professional, I paid them well over $ 600.00 to have tumor (s) removed and then tested from my dog. Once the surgery was done, dogs recovery was done and I picked him up. Two of the three tumors, were forgotten, the one huge obvious one was removed. They promised to make it right, its three years later, not one phone call to reschedule. I’ve been back for dogs shots, grooming… not a peep?

I just brought both my dogs in cause they have been so itchy. It was fairly busy inside but once i signed in we were called into an exam room by Gio who was extremely friendly and personable she showed us to our room and told us the doctor would be in shortly, which he was. The doctor was able to help with the medication we needed and Gio made sure she went over all the fees and medications with us. We were in and out in no time. I highly recommend this place, it was affordable and the staff was wonderful.

My dog went in for a swollen paw. Dr. Oshry look at my dogs paw with out really examination and said we had to cut off her paw there is no feeling in it. I just got pissed because he didn’t want to cut and clean just to make sure she wasn’t bit or poked by anything. He said I had to pay for the X-​ray for me to get the cut and clean. So I went to my groomer to cut and clean just so we can look closely. We thought it was broken. Well after leaving the groomer I went to a vet that I used to work at about 16 years ago and they helped me. They said something had bit her or she just jumped off something and hurt herself. Her paw was infected and swollen. I went to Lawndale Pet Hospital. Still love them.

Very grateful for this place, as I had been searching for a facility near-​ish to me with SGV prices/​ethics that I’m used to. I even received a phonecall a few days after my visit to confirm that my baby was still doing ok.
–1 star because the wait was just ridiculous. They don’t take appointments, and do walk-​ins only. Which is no problem. But they took someone who came in after me, BEFORE me, then I had to wait a very long time inside the room.

I took my dog here yesterday he had ear infections. These people doesn’t care about pets or you. They charged me $ 400.00. And their attitude is all about money, they don’t care about my dog. I couldn’t pick up my dog after my brother went and got him. When he came home my dog is wearing a cone and a medicine I had to put on his ears. No instructions what so ever. They just told my brother to put the drops and that’s it. Now. How am I supposed to know how or when to take off the cone. No instructions. I won’t come back to this place. If I can give this place a 0 review I would. And it’s very expensive.

Affordable Animal Clinic?! That’s comedy.
My cat had crystals in his urine and was in extreme pain. I went here as an emergency because my preferred Veterinarian office was booked and we couldn’t get him in. We were quoted $ 1200 overnight to do the catheter. Um… this would be a max of $ 900 at my preferred vet office of choice for a week’s worth of observation opposed to just overnight and the same procedure. I also tried to ask for a stronger antibiotic that would clear up the crystals than what the vet was recommending and the doctor refused. They claimed that the bottom of the barrel antibiotic would do the job. I can tell you first hand that no it doesn’t.
I just really don’t understand how these people are charging so much to people in desperation. Either you pay outrageous prices or your pet is in so much pain, or they have to most likely be put to sleep because of what the owner is being charged and they can’t afford the bill. I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong. I just think that veterinarians need to have compassion for their patients and not have it all be about robbing people blind. Maybe they do charge small fees on other procedures and what not but this rubbed me the wrong way.

I wish they would have let me know that she was too old to handle that surgery. She suffered needlessly and i put her down 4 days later. They wanted to charge me another 700 dollars to find out why she stopped eating and why she wasn’t being responsive. Her temperature was very low. I feel like the doctor was giving me false hope and just wanted to get more money out of us. They cut a huge gash into her side and i finally realized her quality of life was not going to be the same. Shame on you guys. Shame on me too. I was selfish and wanted to keep her as long as i could and i definitely feel taken advantage of by you guys. Dont give people false hope! Tell all the facts and let them make a decision based off of that.

I know the reviews for this clinic are pretty bad, but I can only speak from my personal experience. I took my puppy in after he was diagnosed with parvo, my boyfriend and I were so sad to hear that somehow our puppy had contracted the virus. We took him in on Monday night to another clinic and had him admitted right away, after being told that the treatment would cost $ 1900 for 3 nights of care we decided to look elsewhere as we could not afford this pricing and were also advised that he might need to stay longer given that parvo needs to be treated intensively.
We found this place through our dog rescue! They stated that treatment would be $ 1000 at a fixed price for 3 – 5 days of care depending on how long our puppy would need to recover. We went on and dropped him off on Tuesday after picking him up from the other vet.
We are completely grateful to this vet, we got to bring our puppy home on Friday and now roughly two weeks later, he is a fully energetic and playful puppy with an unending appetite. He is back to his normal self and we are so happy that we were able to save him! Thank you to the Staff at Affordable!

I can’t praise this clinic enough. I took me kitty in a few weeks ago because she had been acting weird the days prior and when I got home from work she was not able to hold up her weight, eat or drink. My regular vet was closed and these guys were recommended by a friend of a friend. There were about 7 others there ahead of me as walk ins. I told the girl reception that my cat was in really bad shape. She didn’t hesitate. She took her directly back to the dr as I was filling out the paperwork. The vet came out a few minutes later with two options. Pay $ 500 for emergency treatment and an overnight stay or let her go peacefully. The vet was honest about her condition, knowing I would give my last dollar to save her. Instead of pushing treatment he said that she was much sicker then I thought and the best choice was to euthanize her and not let her suffer. I asked about the treatment again because I was in denial and didn’t want to let her go… In most cases vets would have jumped on that and let me spend my money. He didn’t do that. He put his hand on my shoulder and in the kindest voice told me again that she was very sick and to let them make her comfortable… It was time to let her go. I agreed. They let me stay with her while they did the procedure. They also gave her oxygen to make her comfortable as she was having trouble breathing. They didn’t want her to suffer either. They didn’t charge me for anything beyond the IV, euthanization and her cremation. They were so kind, offered as much time as I needed with her afterwards. Offered water, tissue and made sure someone was with me to take me home. I was hysterical. The girls at the front were sympathetic and incredibly helpful. Id like to note I paid nearly $ 1000 at a clinic not far from there on PCH in Torrance when I had to put my duck down. This whole visit cost less then $ 200. I asked before I left when I could pick up her ashes. I was told it could take a few weeks and they would call me when she was ready. I paid for the minimum option for cremation, no extra for a box or anything because I had planned to put her with her fur brother in his cremation box.
Fast forward 6 days, I was working when I got a voicemail that Missy was ready to come home and they were again sorry for my loss. I went to pick her up today as I hadn’t had a day off until now and to my surprise she was in a beautiful handmade wooden box with a lock and keys. On the bottom was a silver decal that read: Missy 7÷31÷2015, Beloved pet of the Barber Family. Her urn was in a cute see through pearl color bag with a bow. Missy would have loved it. A moment I expected to be full of tears was instead a moment of peace. I had a smile on my face knowing she was taken care of even after her death and given back to me in a beautiful presentation. The staff at the desk was again very sweet. Offered their condolences again and sent my baby girl home with me. I now have a new vet at Affordable Animal Clinic. The service is wonderful, the staff is great, it’s clean, and they have a very nice behind the scenes surgical and care center that was not at all what I imagined. It was clean, and everyone was working. Nobody was standing around doing nothing. They were working on other pets, cleaning kennels, going over lab work, prepping for what looked like some kind of procedure. But never once did I feel uncomfortable. They allowed me to be there when they euthanized her and offered me words of support when I needed them. They gave Missy her last moment of dignity and at no time was I rushed out so they could move in with something else. I really can’t say enough about this place. Thank you Affordable Animal Clinic for making one of the worst moments of my life into something I can look back on and not be sad about completely. You have a client for life now. Keep up the amazing work and thank you again for everything. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

This is the kind of place people should be warned about.
Dr. Lee missed my dog’s bladder infection, despite performing a urinalysis and «deluxe» bloodwork.
They said they would call me the day after blood was drawn; they did not.
Over the phone, he sounds concerned, but when I came in for the follow up exam, he showed no concern for my dog; just stayed focused on the grossly overpriced abdominal ultrasound with not a hint of concern that I couldn’t afford that.
No reference was made to the dangerously low blood glucose count, which could point to disorders of which my dog was showing symptoms.
The reason the number was so low is because the blood set out too long.
I wasn’t expecting a place with «affordable» as part of their name charge $ 450.00 for an abdominal ultrasound.
The Family Pet Clinic of Redondo Beach charges $ 250.00 and is having a special now for $ 99.00.
«Affordable Animal Clinic» really gets your attention with their name, cheap rabies shots and advertise how they «welcome new patients» .
After my experience with them, a new patient is probably the majority of their business and like me, will never go back.

I had to take my dog in today because I’m going out of town tomorrow and she needed a rabies vaccine boost before I take her to the dog sitter. I did some research looking for a place to get her vaccinated but I didn’t have the time (or immediate funds) to get a whole exam prior, as most places require. I called this place at about 12 PM and asked if I would be able to go in today and they said walk ins are always welcome. Though the lady on the phone seemed very rushed and busy, she was very kind to me over the phone.
Parking at first seems impossible, but there is actually a lot next door with ample parking. However, it’s all dirt. And going into it there is a cement mound that scraped the bottom of my car. This is totally not their fault, just a little FYI!
Going in there are several benches lined up on 3 of the wall in the reception area. I went to the desk and they told me to sign in. Almost all the seats were taken, another pet owner was kind enough to let me sit with her. A few minutes later they called me up to fill out a first time visitor form. After that it was just waiting.
I read many Unilocal reviews while waiting. So many talk of the horrible wait. But honestly? Wasn’t so bad. It’s all walk ins… So yeah it’s going to be busy. I can’t complain about the behavior of the other animals, as my Buttercup seemed to be the only one barking! Hehe
More of the reviews complained about the over charging and how the vets try to scam you into unnecessary things. Maybe it’s only because I simply needed my pup vaccinated, but experience was entirely pleasant.
After waiting about 45 minutes we were shown into a room and about 5 minutes later the vet came. He confirmed with me that it was a Rabies vaccine, and then his assistant asked me if my dog was nice. I told her she was okay and she held her down. I was very delighted to see that she didn’t just strangle my dog down, she gently almost hugged her. The doctor told me that her leg would be sore after, since the shot has to be administered in the muscle. I watched Buttercup’s eyes as he put the needle in, and she didn’t even flinch.
The vet I had was named Dr. Oshry. Older gentleman, quiet, and very nice. The fee was $ 10. Pretty awesome.
I hope this review helps those who need something simple, like a vaccine. I’ve been to emergency care with my animals where they try to peddle money out of you, but this place was perfect for what I needed.

Took 3 of my family’s puppy in for their first visit to get exams and vaccinations. We had to wait 45 — to an Hour just to be called in only to fill out the application & puppies informations… Not only that! we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to be called in the room.
Granted this is a WALK IN CLINIC so expect the wait
So, we were able to get the puppies seen together which was great… The Doctor and Medical Assistance did a good job handling the puppies and answering a few questions we had.
Over all it was clean… Somewhat organized and Fast once you get in… Despite the long wait…

Brought in our 12 year old boxer today due to seizures and they were so compassionate towards us and our situation.
They NEVER tried to nickel and dime us and we’re so satisfied with their diagnosis and sensitivity. Unfortunately our beloved family pet of 12 years Zucco will need to be put down and we are completely heartbroken but thank you Affordable dog clinic for being so fantastic!

This review is for the recent experience I had with our 5 year old pit bull. My boyfriend and I had taken him to another office due to convenience on a Saturday. Monday we figured out something was really up with our dog and we arrived Monday night. this was the beginning.
Our dog had been evaluated thoroughly by Dr. Lee. He let us know what tests he recommend our dog take and why. Which is great for an owner like me who wants to know everything. After the second test. our dog had been diagnosed. He suggested our dog stay at the clinic for observation and for the tests being run but we were welcome to visit during his shifts.
Day 2. Our dog is sicker than we all thought. When we come by the next afternoon he breaks the news in such a genuine and concerned matter. Dr. Lee made us feel so safe and comfortable. I mean he is so thorough and the thought process he has is just amazing. The ladies at the front desk were so sensitive to everything happening but professional in handling the costs of it all.
Day 3. Our dog hits the surgery table. This was not his first choice. Dr. Lee assured us that anything invasive should be a last resort. Due to circumstances and knowing our dog well we knew that surgery would more than likely be the card we had to play. Through this whole process I was at work and Dr. Lee made sure he communicated with us both.(i.e. my boyfriend went to the clinic and would call me and we spoke while I was on speaker) It was so relieving that he didn’t mind speaking to us 2x daily since our dog has been in. He explained to us that he checked our dog out first before he knew surgery was necessary. He showed us what he found during the surgery but Also, realistically let us know that with surgery can come unexpected complications. He provided us more than enough assurance though with his background and the mere fact that he loves his job. That to me, put the cherry on top. I literally could see at that very moment he truly cares for all the animals in that clinic and was treating our own as his.
All in all, this ENTIRE staff (techs and receptionists) have been nothing but compassionate and professional to us. This painful experience has been a little less stressful because of this clinic.
Dr. Lee from the bottom of our hearts we appreciate everything you’ve done so far for our dog. We are truly blessed to have someone as qualified as you be apart of his treatment and journey.

The woman at the desk was rude. We showed up 30 mins before closing and she said we had to go to emergency because they we’re not taking anymore patients. All I needed was for the vet to look at my cat and see if it was something that could wait until the morning. After I got irate in the lobby, the doctor came and did a quick look see. My cat was bitten by a demon cat that I was pet sitting for arrrg. Cant win for losing! The doctor was nice enough to come out and let us know what was up and that he would see us in the morning. But the rudeness of the office manager will make me go elsewhere.
PS I took my puppy there 3 years and got a enormous bill $ 1500 and it turned out that we were just overfeeding him. I only went back because they were open late… Wish I could give them less that a star!!!

They’re ok but if I had an animal with medical problems I’d go somewhere else. I think the vet techs were more helpful than the vet doc. staff up front is indifferent and not that helpful.
