Best Auto Care

I’ve come here twice now. Once for a smog check and recently to get a headlight changed. Both times service was quick and they never try to haggle you in to getting anything more fixed. And also fair in pricing. To change one of the headlights was $ 20. I also needed to get it changed ASAP before we left for a trip and they opened 8 am sharp. I’d definitely recommend coming here for any car service.

The owner has issue of split personality. I had a lengthy conversation last Saturday about my car issues. Went in today and he totally talks something else and even denies having conversation with me. I even asked for his name. Mr. Kim Man Duck some sh*t. He even told me that I was talking to someone else. WTF! I wasted my time trying to find the damn place and actually going there to hear some other bs.

With so many car repair shops… why go to this one?

Horrrrible owner. Explained problem over phone, said he could fix and to have it towed in to the shop. Got there and the owner says «no can fix, too much headache» This was after he told me «sure, bring it in.» So 2 AAA tows later I just took it to my old mechanic 30 miles away. This is why Unilocal reviews suck sometimes. Add to that the fact that he was a rude SOB and walked away as I was asking him why it was such a hard job and well? You do the math. This is a small dirty little shop with an owner and 1 mechanic that can only do entry level work on automobiles. Steer clear if you have anything other than a brake job or oil change.

Everyone feels the same way about this place. I’ve been going here for years now. The owner (Mr. Kim) has never tried to rip me off on anything before unlike other auto shops. Very honest man, good prices on everything. Takes care of my car very well.
Always gets things done on time. If there’s a delay, he calls me and gives me a heads up.
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Highly recommend it.

I’m very against going to the chain jiffy/​ez lube shops for my oil changes because of all the reports and firsthand accounts of them screwing people over — not really changing the oil filter, or even the oil, upselling unneeded services. Now I finally have another option.
I always thought it would be more expensive to go to a «real» mechanic but Best Auto Care charges just $ 25 out the door, no need to save coupons from your Sunday paper.
It was pretty cool because unlike the chain shops where they have an opening in the floor of the garage and do the work out of sight, Best Auto actually jacked my car up 10 feet in the air and I had a front row seat to what they were doing the entire time. Old oil drained, old filter pulled out… When they charged me $ 5 to pull out a nail in my tire and repair the hole, I got to watch the whole process. I’ll be back.

Called ahead on a Friday afternoon and was told I could drop in. The whole process of getting my wife’s 5YO Lexus took maybe 20 minutes and was exactly as promised — no extras or upselling. Facility looks like a former gas station, nothing fancy, but I’m pleased with their work and will return when the other car needs a smog test or other basic work.

Mr. Kim is very very honest. They always provide great service at a fair price. I recommend this auto care to everyone.

Scenario: Car was making clunking noise when driving above 30mph.
I was too lazy to take my miata to the shop I used last time, which is in… Rowland Heights (let google maps do the math, 40 miles). Therefore i decide to give Best Auto a try based on the previous review.
The owner is nice, however, quoted me at 900 for a non-​existing transmission problem (see my review for Japanese Car Clinic as well). THANK GOD my cheap Asian ass decided against it.
btw, was charged 20 bucks for the «diagnosis».

I went to Best Auto Care based on the 2 previous reviews. As a single female, it is almost destiny that i will be slayed whenever i go to any auto bodyshop. Last time when i brought myself to a chained oil change place for a 19.99 package, i ended up spending 2 hours and paying over $ 300 on things that i was recommended to fix. Best auto care is totally diff. No sale pressure. Prompt and polite service. I got charged 25 bucks and that’s it! Unbelievable.
Do you know how hard it is to find an honest and trust-​worthy body shop guy nowaday?

I joined Unilocal just so I could rave about this place. Seriously.
As a young female, it’s hard to find auto shops that don’t try to rip you off. The Korean guy who owns this place, along with a guy named Ishmael who usually does my oil changes, is super honest and has never tried to sell me any kind of service I didn’t go there for. Before finding Best Auto Care, I had assumed that it was standard for every auto place to tell you a million things that are wrong with your car that you need to fix immediately when you just want an oil change.
Such is not the case here. In fact, he’s actually turned me away on a couple occasions, telling me I didn’t need my brake pads changed yet and that I could come back later. Another time, he actually gave my mom some money back after she paid for a service, apologizing that he had accidentally overcharged her. WHAT KIND OF AUTO SHOP DOES THAT? I’m afraid that his honesty will put him out of business. And so, I’m writing this review to encourage people to go there.

My family has been coming here for years and the owner is always very honest with us and takes care of our cars.
FYI…the owner is Korean but he can speak some English.
