I want to say a huge thank you to the manager and staff at China Buffet. We held a surprise party for my dad’s 75th birthday here for 40 people. The staff was so friendly, thoughtful and easy to work with. They even provided party balloons and tablecloths that we weren’t expecting. The food was great, the place was clean and everyone had a great time. I felt bad for the people seated around us as we were loud and obnoxious at times but they were all so gracious even wishing my dad a happy birthday. Thank you China Buffet! We will be back!

Your experience really depends on your prior experience with other Asian buffets. As far as those go, this is pretty average — they have a normal stock of food, some of which is okay, some of which is not so okay. It’s not Hometown Buffet or Golden Corral, so if you’re peeved that there don’t seem to be any vegetables other than a salad bar(and who goes to a buffet to each salad?), you should have done your research beforehand. They have a lot of seafood, which isn’t uncommon for Asian buffets. Start eating that if you want to get the bang for your buck. Food’s pretty greasy /oily for the most part, so you may feel like a juice cleanse is in order afterwards… Sushi selection seems to pick up on holidays, but it’s nothing to write home about. Rice is kind of stale, rolls don’t even look that appetizing, and it’s not high-grade fish or anything like that. To be honest, I would be most concerned with their sanitary standards. My family usually only goes here on holidays when they have a discounted price; the last time we went, they were cleaning the floor 5 minutes before opening — nothing like the smell of bleach to kill your appetite. We then watched a lady drop a whole tray of pastries on the floor. She took it back to the kitchen, but who knows if any of them made their way back out again. Frozen yogurt machine was broken — I don’t mind having vats of ice cream in a freezer(I mean how else are you going to dispense it), but if you see a lot of little kids running around, maybe stay away from that.

My retiree group of about 16 people eat here every 3 months. It is one of our favorite places. A huge variety including steamed fish and a few other lo cal options. A great salad bar, beef, pork and shrimp dishes. Bring your kids, they even have a pizza usually. I like the egg foo young, BBQ pork and a garlic eggplant dish. 3 soup options. hot and sour just OK. Stir fried green beans are very good though I take a napkin and wipe off excess oil. I don’t understand the negative reviews found here. About the only thing I don’t like are the BBQ beef ribs that are quite bland.

Are these reviews real life? I’m still trying to figure out how some of these people can even call this«food», I’m writing this review while in a fetal position, sick from this god awful place. My friends and I were starving and our favorite seafood buffet was closed so we decided to try this place after we looked at Unilocal and the pretty good reviews. The prices seemed right so we gave it a shot. BOYWASTHEPRICEWRONG!!! I don’t care if this place was free, I wouldn’t eat here! This place was surprisingly super busy(again I don’t understand) so ghetto that they put some random miss matched table and chairs in the middle of the dining room, causing safety hazards, waitresses having to squeeze thru everywhere they went. First thing I plated was the«fresh» sushi, um to all the people that said they have decent sushi here, you are absolutely lying, the sushi was butchered, chewy, and on top of that the plates were HOT and my sushi/sashimi was cooking! Gross. Next I thought I’d try some basic chow mien(watery/no flavor), beef/broccoli(the beef was the consistency of gelatin I highly doubt it was even any body part of a cow, mostly gelatin in beef broth, the broccoli was undercooked and had a chemical taste to it), egg roll(was decent), tempura(soggy). At this point I am losing my appetite and ask for a Coke to wash down whatever I had eaten. Dessert. Lol. Ice cram machine was broken, they straight up have a deep cooler with ICECREAMTUBS just chilling with an ice cream scooper, I can’t even begin to tell you how UNSANITARY that is, why is this place still in business?!? The health department needs to be called on this place STAT! The desert plates are very warm as well, so when you’re trying to «enjoy» some good ol pudding from the fabulous dessert bar… YOUCAN’T because by the time you get back to your seat it’s warm and who the hell wants to eat warm pudding, NONONO. Nope, not me. Don’t get me started on the waitresses that look like they side as a masseuse in a «happy ending» parlor. Observing I saw them being rude, having attitudes, they didn’t look clean either. So gross! My friends and I left this place feeling so sick, I just can’t stand to see all these amazing reviews when this place is trash. And one more thing… No, you know what, we didn’t leave a tip, and yeah the waitress stood up there while we were paying and saw we didn’t leave her anything, she started talking shit in her language, well damn lady, here’s a tip for you: stick to your night job of suckie suckie and loving long time.

This place is okay if you stick to the good stuff. The offer a wide selection of all kinds of food: different kinds of fish and seafood, meats, noodles, soups, fried rice, sushi, ice cream etc., Things to avoid in my opinion: Definitely their sushi /sashimi. The raw fish is not fresh, the seaweed is chewy and unpalatable. If you’re crazy about sushi like I am, don’t even try this. Some of their cooked fish(i.e. salmon) were very bland. I really liked their snow crabs with butter(ask for this!), so I ended up just consuming platefuls of these. Also loved their icecream flavors — green tea was my favorite!

Need to prepare the dishes before they ran out. Not 20 minutes later. The employees, including kitchen staff must work for the benifit of the customers.

I really enjoyed the lunch buffet here, tons of options to choose from. I loved that there was a variety of seafood options, including snow crab legs which are my favorite. The soups were great as well. For dessert I tried the green tea ice cream and it was delicious. Will definitely return.

Have gone here with family in the South Bay for years, and have always been satisfied. We keep coming back and never been disappointed. Pretty good and tasty food at very reasonable prices. Sunday and holiday price is only $ 14 per person, and even cheaper for children and seniors. China Buffet has a pretty typical selection of dishes as in other Asian buffets, but what makes it better is that it has way better seafood offerings than other buffets. Seafood offerings are the items that I tend to gravitate to in Asian buffets. Definitely love the fried crab along with the baked salmon and sole. There’s also a limited selection of sushi and sashimi. These items, along with the sauteed green beans and fried rice make a very tasty meal for me, and I leave the place very satisfied. On our last visit, the frozen yogurt machine was not working but China Buffet replaced it with hand-scooped ice cream. Green tea, vanilla and strawberry ice cream flavors were available. Please don’t bother fixing the frozen yogurt machine and just keep the hand-scooped ice cream!

Tried last night. Mediocre at best. I’ve had worst however. I realize it’s Buffet style, can’t expect 5 stars, yet I expected a little better on the flavor/taste end from reading the Unilocal reviews. Would only recommend if you are in the area, no distance drives expecting extreme satisfaction here, although staff was very nice.

Baked mussels w cheese Shrimp and vegetables Fried fish Egg tarts-the crust was crispy and flaky ice cream Plantains

Disgusting. Food was bland. I should have listened to the prior reviews. The orange chicken tasted like crap. The broccoli beef looked undercooked. Even the ice cream was melted. You really do get your money’s worth here.(9.99). It’s like management tells the cooks to cook like garbage on purpose. I’ll take Panda Express over this any day. 0⁄10 would not recommend.

I tried several Chinese buffet with the same price level. I would say that this place surprise me. I went there for lunch with 3 of my friends. They got duck, fried fish, garlic crab, etc. and… Their dessert are niceeeee :) This restaurant is not a fancy restaurant but they know what are they doing and they did great job.

This place has really gross mussels covered with cheese. SO gross that it ruined my appetite. However, everything else was quite alright. There are many Asian buffets that typically serve foods that are served here: fried rice, orange chicken, tempura, sushi, many kinds of fish and seafood, different Asian marinated meats, noodles, sour soup, fruits, small cakes, sesame balls, etc. Also a bit of American foods such as pizza and fries. The quality of the food here is a lot better than the other Asian/China buffets. And they have green tea ice cream.

I have been coming here for many years and all I can say is that the food keeps getting better. What I love about China Buffet is the great customer service along with excellent management skills from the supervisors. The lunch menu is fantastic where you can eat unlimited delicious food. The dinner menu is just as wonderfully tasty. No matter what time of day you will be sure to find fresh hot meals served from the top staff in the South Bay. Why go else where when you can have it all right here at China Buffet. Thank you China Buffet for being the Best of the BEST!

Atmosphere: As soon as you walk in your greeted with a smile and to the array of food laid out beautifully. They even will allow you to visually check out the buffets islands(6 large), sushi, and yakitori. Male restroom surprisingly very clean. Food: Average food. Food pros: Price for the buffet lunch, $ 9.99 + $ 1.69(soda) plus tax 9% = $ 12.73 per adult. Button Mushroom in sauce, chicken curry, beef broccoli, kung Pao chicken(mild), green beans in brown sauce, egg plant in sauce, szechuan shrimp(whole), fried rice, fried butterflied shrimp, and sweer and sour soup(mild) were good. Food cons: The selection was plentiful but some items are bland while others are ladened with the«headache» spice, MSG. Chow mein, pizza, siu mai, yakotori, sweet and sour chicken, mussels, fried squid, and clams all bland and chewy.

Omg!!! Food, food, food everywhere! I love coming here. During the week or the weekend. If you come on the weekend, get there early because it gets packed. There is a wait for big parties but if there are two people it’s very fast. The food is very tasteful and the quality is amazing. Everything is fresh they put new platters very quickly so you won’t have to wait on your favorite foods. They have sushi, yummy! The ice cream is amazing can never get tired of it.
