Dr. David Horowitz attended and graduated from Eastern Michigan University in Lansing, Michigan. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He attended medical school in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated with a D.O. degree in 1968. Dr. Horowitz moved to Torrance, California in 1990, and has been in private practice since that time.

Concerned about you as an individual, Dr. Horowitz takes great pride in matching your expectations with what can realistically be accomplished. His surgical and medical goals are always to maintain a natural appearance while achieving the best possible results. Yesterday was my first time ever seeing a dermatologist. So a friend recommended me to Coast Dermatology. I wish i had came sooner. Dr. Michael Kassardjian was the doctor who saw me he made me feel comfortable. He said i had hormonal acne and the medications i needed
were expensive and so he was nice enough to help me out with one of them by giving me some free samples for the time being, and the others he said if they are not covered by my insurance to give him a call and he will figure something out. What doctor does that for his patient not many he didn’t have to help me. He explained how to use the medication thoroughly so i didn’t have any questions about the medicine when i went home. This is the place to go if your having acne problems. Overall Looking forward to my next appt and a acne free face. Thank you Dr. Michael Kassardjian.

I went in to see Dr Mark Horowitz about some skin tags, mohels and dry skin patches and couldn’t be happier with his bedside manner. He did a skin check and explained every step of my procedures. He made me feel very comfortable and answer all my questions throughly. I would definitely recommend his office to anyone looking for a dermatologist. He is top notch and well versed in his specialty. Thanks Dr Horowitz!!!

I had a regular check up done to see if I need any moles removed. I was told everything was fine. There was one large mole that was particularly large on my spine. I said I wanted it removed. The dr. Insisted it was fine and informed I would be trading the mole for a large scar. I had it removed anyway. The results came back with severe a typical cells. I went back to have a larger chunk of meat removed from my back. The dr. Told me he thought it was a fluke. He said all of my other moles were fine. I got a 2nd opinion in which I was told I should have 4 more removed! The autopsy showed a typical cells on all 4 moles! This was somewhat frightening considering all 5 of these moles that the dr said did not need to be removed were precancerous! I strongly discourage going here!

The parking lot was pretty full but I was able to find a spot after driving around for a few minutes.
The staff here are very organized and efficient. As a new patient, I didn’t feel lost at all.
I had a rash on my face that wouldn’t go away for a couple of months, wasn’t sure what it was so I left it up to the pros to figure it out. The nurse practitioner asked me a few questions, ran a few quick tests then prescribed me to an antibacterial facial cream and pills and my skin cleared up!!!
I am extremely happy that a friend recommended this place.

I like the nurse MILCER… she is so accommodating and very nice person… she helped me to process my application for a free medication… I like DR. MARK he is also nice and answered all my questions… this clinic is highly recommended!

I am 43 with hormonal acne and I let it really bother me. After YEARS of doing IPL’s, laser, this that and the other with very good Medical Estheticians, I stumbled up Coast Dermatology. The wait to see Dr. K was quite some time so I called often to get on a cancellation. I was able to get in with Holly, an NP sooner and wow, I sure was happy.
She is kind, gentle, young and knows skin. All the things I thought would be suggested, she didn’t. I don’t want to take meds for acne and she didn’t recommend one. However, she did help me out and a week later, my skin looks great. This has been going on for 14 years since I had my son. She said stop doing all I am doing, let it rest for a while and keep it simple. Go see her if you are in need of a great dermatologist. This place is clean, busy and their service was phenomenal. All this for a small office visit fee of around $ 100. Worth every penny. Their services are very affordable. Taking my son there next week. THANK YOU Holly!!!

I just came in for my first appointment trying to treat my acne. I’m 25 with the skin of a 14-​year-​old and it has to stop! I saw Holly, who was an absolute ray of sunshine. She was super informative and helpful, did a couple treatments on the spot (cystic injection, glycol peel) and had me on my way in under an hour. I barely had to wait at all in this office. Everyone is super polite and they seem to run a very efficient operation. The pretty waterfalls outside are nice to walk around if you have time.
I actually can’t wait to come back for my facial and follow-​up!

Too bad I can’t give ten stars. I’ve had acne for over twenty years, since elementary school, and treatments for it only work a few months… not the case with Coast Dermatology. Dr. Koehler has me using the right combination of products and for over two years now, my skin is absolutely flawless and radiant. They always offer to zap a spot that looks bad when I’m there, and they have so many state of the set treatments for IPL, cherry angiomas, full facial room etc. Leah is the aesthetician who keeps me looking my best — what a great bedside manner, and she’s so funny. Try this practice out; you won’t be disappointed.

Came here for recurring rash like symptoms by my thigh area. Dr Horowitz I think (middle aged doctor) has bad manners. He asked me «how many partners» did I have !! Wtf I told him I was happily married. Then I was feeling not only dirty but upset that he went to another dr whispering .this is so unprofessional. This office sucks! Insulting and no resolution. Do yourself a favor look at ur medical plan for dermatologist

I’ve been to several Derms in LA who just try to sell you their own products. No Bueno. Dr. Kasardjian is THE BEST DERM!!! I’ve had adult acne for a long time and nothing worked. My initial consultation was 1 hour long and Dr. Kasardjian was so patient and listened to my concerns with a genuine beautiful smile. He prescribed me several medications (topical and oral) and worked with me to get these medications at a cheaper price as my HMO did not cover my visit or the meds. If he has samples, he’ll give you all the samples because he is THAT NICE! The visit was only ~$ 100 – 130 without insurance (don’t remember the exact price)…totally worth it.
Plus he’s super attractive and has a fabulous smile!!! By my 8 week follow up, my chronic acne was almost all gone!!! I never had to go back for a 3rd follow up because now my skin is completely clear… Just some old acne scars that will eventually fade. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO VISIT DR KASARDJIAN. Every week I look in the mirror and I say to myself… «Man… I need to send this guy a thank you note». Haven’t gotten to it yet, but a Unilocal review is a start.

Very impressed! I walked in 10 minutes before my appt. Time, filled out the required docs and waited no longer than 5 minutes before my name was called. The nurse asked me a couple of questions, handed me a gown to change into for my skin test and not even 5 minutes later Dr. Mark Horrowitz walked in, He was very friendly and even joked around to make me feel more comfortable. He asked me what my concerns were and got started right away. Needless to say I think I was in and out within 30 mins. The office was very clean and the staff was friendly. It was overall a pleasant experience. I will definitely be returning.

After having to change from my last Derm due to my last leaving THIPA, I had a misfire at another practice (one really disappointing appointment) and found my way to this practice.
From the moment I called, the staff was wonderful. Explained that I have had melanoma surgeries and wanted a Doctor who was good at examining and identifying and they set me up with Dr. Michael Kassardjian. He was wonderful. Warm, caring, thorough, thoughtful, engaging, super professional and comforting,
Made up for my bad experience at the other practice I tried.
The staff was really super, we were seen on time (even as a new patient,) people moved through the waiting room like clockwork, the place was clean, modern, and nice all around.
I am so happy that I found Coast Dermatology and Dr. K. Thanks to you all.

True success story. During and after my pregnancies of my two babies I had struggled with hormonal acne. It got so bad that I avoided to go out in public or take any family pictures.
I’ve spend plenty of expensive products and gone to several dermatologist yet nothing seem to work. I did my research by reading articles, watched YouTube videos, went on Unilocal looking for the best reviews, spend hours finding ways to help my issue.
I also asked friends what worked for them tried holistic ways. All which seemed like was a waste of time and I was beginning to lose hope. So I wanted to give it one last shot of trying another dermatologist this time I tried not to get my hopes up.
My first visit with Dr. Kassargian went better than I expected. He was not only nice he genuinely cared and reassured me that I will feel confident again with clear looking skin. He definitely will find ways to also help without spending too much out of your pocket. Unlike, my other experiences of rushed appointments, Doctors that didn’t really seem to have enough experiences of what they were doing. Being pushed to buy overly expensive products. Here it isn’t no where like that.
After my first visit with him I saw results and after meeting with Leah the esthetician whom is the sweetest lady ever. She too loves what she does and that’s making her clients gain confidents again. I had my very first treatment with her and boy did I see results within the FIRST WEEK! I began wearing my hair back and showing off my face. I started feeling confident within myself. I honestly truly believe my face wasn’t ever going to heal. That I was going to hide my face where ever I went. Although, I still have a few scars which we all know will take time at least they found a way to control my acne. For anyone who is struggling with acne, adult acne, hormonal acne any kind of acne. I know and believe everyone’s skin reacts differently from products to treatments. I promise you, you will thank me later. Here are a few pictures of before and after.

People who answered the phone were extremely rude. Besides, they haven’t even seen my conditions and said I would have to go see one of their dermatologists and I told them I’ve seen a dermatologist and I was told to see a plastic surgeon. That’s why I wanted to schedule a time with plastic surgeon to get consultation and they said it would cost $ 125 to come in to get consultation. The whole time, I felt I was not welcome already. I got impression that they wanted to hang up the phone and not deal with me. The fist person who answered the phone asked me if I was a new patient and almost yelled at me and said you can’t walk in and will have to schedule a time. I said that’s what I am calling to schedule a time LOL

I wish all the medical offices were this good. Yes they typically are booked out well in advance. Maybe they should expand their staff to help with getting sooner appointments, i duno.
So far my two visit with difference issues have been awesome. I been lucky to get Dr. Michael Kassardjian. Great guy, know his stuff and is friendly easy going. Doesn’t hold that Doctor demeanor and try to rush you out and on to the next.
I noticed the bad reviews for the front desk. I haven’t experienced anything negative with them but nothing exceptional either. They are professional and get the job done. I would like them to be more friendly and easy as Dr. Michael Kassardjian. But, i wont knock them stars for it. Overall i’m happy.

This is a true success story.
I’ve been coming to Coast Dermatology for 9 years. Leah, my esthetician, always takes fabulous care of my skin and helps to keep it flawless. But, recently I experienced some hormonal changes that drastically changed my skin, making it inflamed and acneic, with large cysts all over face and chest. I had ADULT ACNE!
Although I maintained my regular facial and extraction appointments with Leah, my complexion was so inflamed it could no longer take the constant pressure from extractions. My skin began to scar easily. I had cysts and scarring. I felt defeated and unattractive. And as as a grown woman having all of the congestion on my face was just debilitating to my self-​esteem.
That’s when Leah suggested I meet with a dermatologist in the office named Doctor Kassargian. The two of them worked tirelessly, creating the right balance of treatment as well as medicine to CURE my adult acne and the unsightly scarring! Even when I left town for three months Leah and Dr Kassargian spoke to me often on the phone, renewing my prescriptions when I needed them, so I could maintain my regimen. And with every long distance conversation we had, they always encouraged me that soon my skin would be restored and ok.
Today the acne is gone, and the scars are a thing oh the past! I no longer have a trace of adult acne. And my skin is back to looking flawless. And I owe it all to the team of Leah and Dr Kassargian. I live in Marina del Rey yet I won’t see any other dermatologist or esthetician. Leah and Dr Kassargian will always be my go-​to beauty team!

Coast Dermatology is the best dermatology office I’ve been to! I’ve tried several other dermatologists and this one out of all them had the best service!
I discovered this place because of Unilocal and also because it is right across from Nvision where I got my lasik. I saw all the awesome reviews and decided to give it a try. I didn’t know which doctor to make an appointment with but when I booked my appointment they gave me Dr. Matthew Koehler.
Dr. Koehler turned out to be really awesome! I came in with some He was friendly, very knowledgeable and really took time to answer my questions. Unlike other dermatologists I’ve been to in the past who were always rushing, he took his time to see me. He wanted to make sure I got all my questions answered and that I was taken care of. He actually sat down, chatted with me and did not rush. It’s nice to see a doctor who cares.
I was really impressed with Coast Dermatology. About a week after my visit, they wrote me a nice thank you letter for visiting their office and it came with a certificate for me to give to a friend. I found this really nice. This place is really good to their patients. I am so happy to finally have found a dermatology office that actually cares about their patients and who is not just there to make money.
