Costume Store and More

Was very happy that this is a year-​round costume place since we had to find a quick costume for a renaissance themed wedding.
Pros:
~Huge Selection
~Open year round
~Easy to view/​shop
~Can try the costumes on
~Plenty of different themes/​props/​etc
Cons:
~Pretty expensive, which I expected since they have to be able to keep themselves open year round, but you’re basically paying a premium to get to try it on and buy it instantly.
~Might not be this specific place’s problem but DANG nearly every Female costume was HOOCHY to the max. I had to buy a shirt and leggings just to make my costume public-​appropriate.
Verdict: Great in a pinch, and I like to try things on, but could definitely find cheaper online.

This is a great store, especially since it is located in the South Bay where this style of establishment does not exist unless it is around the Halloween season. And, it is open all year round!
This store is stocked full of all kinds of masks, costumes, and makeup. Plus, they also have a lot of props like gargoyles and things like that.
As an indie filmmaker this place is a great boon as I no longer have to travel to stores like the Halloween Store in Burbank or Hollywood Toys and Costumes when I need that prop, mask, or makeup to make my production work.
This shop is on Hawthorne Blvd so it is easy to get to. It has a large parking lot in front so parking is never a problem. Inside it is kind of haphazard and messy but I like that. It makes the whole shopping experience more of an adventure as you never know what you will find.
When you need that cool offbeat item or costume this is the the place to go.

Came here looking for a mask for a masquerade ball party and walked away with something that looked like a cross between batman and bunny ears. Saw that Kendal Jenner wore the same mask in one of her Instagram photos. Price was $ 12.99, there were indeed masquerade ball masks there for about $ 10.99 — $ 12.99. When I went to the party, my boyfriend’s sister showed up with even better masquerade ball masks she purchased from Santee Alley in downtown L.A. for about a $ 1 — $ 3 each!

Was tired of the shenanigans at my local party city— no selection!
I was so happy I came across this gem! Plus it’s open year round and the staff was very friendly always asking if I needed help and offering suggestions when I couldn’t decide between two costumes. Definitely coming back for my ugly Christmas sweater!

Love this place! I visit every year and the husband and wife duo are always so helpful! This year I brought my friend there to get a costume and they were helpful, as always :)
Their selection is superior over the other local Halloween Illusions and Party City stores– hands down!

We went to a couple stores while searching for halloween costumes for my oldest daughter. She did not have anything specific in mind but we ended up finding a great costume that she loved at Trick or Treat. The staff and owner were super friendly/​helpful and not pushy at all. My youngest decided she wanted to change her mind and get a costume she saw here but then at home changed her mind yet again ha so I was able to exchange it within 5 days of purchase for a costume for myself. When I was there exchanging the owner was still quite helpful even though he knew he would be making no more money off my exchange. I hope they are in this location next year or at least nearby because it will be our go to store for Halloween.

Great place. Went there multiple time s for ideas add got asked 4 times how they can help, which is 4 ties more then Halloween Illusion across the street. Great selection and really good customer service. Both are much better then across the street with less room. Prices are a bit high, but it is to be expected at a Halloween store with a good selection trying to make all their money on a short period of time.

This merchant is the very worse– I bought two costumes from this store– and one of the costumes cost $ 89 but was defective because the zipper was defective. I returned the costume the following day and they gave me a hard time with it. They said they had a policy of no returns and no exchanges — I told them I understood but the policy should not pertain to «defective» items– they could return it to the manufacturer for a refund — I wanted to exchange the costume so for the same item but they didnt have my size in stock — Under UCC Statutes — you cannot disclaim merchantabiility — which means you cannot say no exchange — no return — you have to sell a product that «WORKS:!!! if it doesn’t work 0then you should REFUND the money– Owners of this business– please take note! The salesperson accused me of damaging the the zipper on purpose ??? Excuse me — why would anyone do that? The manager prevented me from taking a picture of the defective zipper — he pushed me and I pushed him back — they threatened to call the police — and I wish they did because I could press charges against the manager for assault and battery ! I left the merchandise and called my bank to dispute the charges and they agreed with me that the merchant cannot have a disclaimer for a «defective «item! They credited me back the amount — please be wary when you do business with this merchandise — if you can find a store with a better policy — then shop there!1 I am very disapp
ointed about this store!

The people who work there are incredibly helpful, they give you their honest opinion on what you try on. They’re so nice and make you feel very welcome. They have many costumes to choose from. Definitely the best halloween store I have been to, I’ll be going to their store for every costume I buy in the future.

With only a week away I visited 3 different costume shops in the south bay. Trick or treat halloween had by far the most and best selection of costumes for adults and kids. They also had a changing room with several booths where you could try on the costume where some stores only have one room.
I got a SWAT vest with accessories-​handcuffs, baton, knee pads, etc. The staff was pretty helpful and helped me find my size for my costume.
Expect to pay average or a little above average for the costume. However, it was worth it.

I went to about four different costume stores before coming here. I found that their quality was a lot better than the party store. I also think they have better costumes. Everybody there was friendly and helpful. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because I needed to buy a sports theme costume for a party. And they didn’t have a very good selection of generic sport outfits. But I did find another costume here for halloween, that I really like. A Spanish pirate ;)

The only thing better than their great selection, is their customer service! Pricing on items was reasonable.

Best place to shop in town– great prices and staff. Very helpful! I bought this year already some customs for my son Whois almost 3 and myself. It’s very organized there. I highly recommend supporting this store. The owners Are also super down to earth and local. It’s nice to support people like them.

Made two different purchases here last year. Very friendly. Best store in the area — -plan to stop by every year!

I went to every single Halloween store in the torrance/​gardena/​redondo beach area 8 different stores and by far trick or treat has the best selection around.

If I could give them no stars I would. We walked in the store and were followed around as though we were going to steal something. When we asked if they had certain accessory we were rudely told by the teenage worker «No» the accessories are on aisle 5 though. She also had a lollipop in her mouth, very unprofessional. Save your time and Halloween shop elsewhere!

The staff at Trick or Treat are the absolute best. They are incredibly helpful and will do whatever they can to make sure you have the best Halloween possible. Lance and Darlene are very kind, considerate and professional. They understand this business more than anyone I have ever met. They make sure that all bases are covered when they set up shop for Halloween. When preparing for Halloween go to Trick or Treat first!
