I am not sure where to begin. I guess the beginning. I have been a patient of Dr. Wasserwald since I was 18 years old. I had gone from time to time to regular doctors. However, Dr. Wasserwald and the other MD’s in the practice… let’s not forget the front desk. They have ALWAYS made me feel comfortable and at home. Yes at home, for being a doctors office that sounds weird. Yet it is true. In 2000 I got pregnant was classified as high risk. The amount if care I received was phenomenal. I meet all the MD’s in the office just in case I went into labor while Dr. Wasserwald was not on. Everyone including the hospital were all on the same page. Dr. Naghi was the doctor on call that night. He is so amazing! I gave birth to my first child Johnny and so grateful I had a doctors who cared and helped me. Now in 2009 I got pregnant with my second child. Now my insurance at the time did not have Dr. Wasserwald. I was still high risk and I was so miserable! I was scared! I was in the hospital every other day for an IV. My doctor’s at that time would have me waiting forever, i means hours! And if they could not assist they then send me to the emergency room. Thankfully when my job offered me a permanent position at 7 mos I quickly called Dr. Wasserwald with an appointment the next day. That day he introduced me to Dr. Rodriguez. I was kind of weary… so unsure. I was like she is so young to OB. I knew Dr. Wasserwald for so long. I had think about it. He would not be transitioning me to her if she was not worthy… capableand knowledgable, trusting if she was not a great doctor. As I got to know her my uneasiness went away. In March 2010 I had a scare, i fell down some stairs and was rushed to Torrance Memorial. Now with a scheduled inducement only 2 days away. They started the inducement and take this little one out. No waiting. The care, concern and urgency I received has stuck with me. That night Dr. Naghi was once again on call and helped deliver my 2^nd child… he delivered my baby girl safely. Well now it is 2011 and guess what pregnant with my 3^rd child. My health was awful. I ended up on disability only 6 weeks into my pregnancy. With an IV and a medicine pump. I had the most painful migraines. I was weak and fragile. Dr. Rodriguez did not hesitate to put me out. She was so caring and compassionate. She knew my unborn child was also at risk. I was pretty bad. I get this way with each pregnancy. However it reached it’s peak with my 3^rd. During my last trimester my Alyssa had to come out slightly early. My partner and I were also planning in having another child… hoping for a boy. When Dr. Rodriguez and I spoke. She was going to be there to help through a fourth pregnancy but she was so real with me and so out spoken on reality. The reality was when I stopped and I listened. I might not be around though the 4^th. I would not be around to enjoy the 3 wonderful kids I was able to survive through and blessed with. I started to think for like a week. Was I will to take the chance of my kids being raised without a mother that worked so hard to have them. My youngest is now 4 ½ and I am so very much grateful to Dr. Rodriguez for not just being a doctor but at that moment she was also a FRIEND! Someone who I needed to give the pros and cons of a huge decisions. I decided not to have more children. I am here today seeing how beautiful and passionate my kids are about the world. That I give so much thanks to this women who worked her BUTT of to be a doctor. And not just any doctor but a GOOD, LOVING, COMPASSIONATE and a Genuine DOCTOR. That is hard to come by now a days. I would never chose to switch, she is stuck with me!

She is simply amazing! She genuinely cares about her patients. She is funny and is so real. Focused on making sure that as a patient you know your options. I personally feel so lucky to have her as my doctor. She is so open about where she is in life and what she’s up to! Love that!!!
On a personal note, she is such an inspiration to women. Rock on my Latina sister! Her practice has been blossoming over the last few years, this speaks to the number of patients who feel the same way I do! This my friends, is truly her passion and calling! If you want a doctor who cares and will take the time, she’s who you need to schedule your next appointment with. #DrRodriguezRules

My wife and i were trying to get pregnant, not sure where where to start we researched OBGYN’s we meet with one but what a horrible experience we had. After the visit with him we thought our dreams of ever getting pregnant was not going to come true. After talking to one of our friends she gave us Dr Rodriguez phone #. We were so hesitant to try another Dr but we did. After making that call we had hope. We meet Dr Rodriguez and loved her from then on. She walked up through the process and explained what we needed to do and we follow her treatment plan. Insemination was a success she helped us get pregnant and delivered our baby.
Thank you Dr Rodriguez and your staff for the excellent care, we are planning for another baby hopefully soon. You are the best.

I wanted to update my review after delivering my daughter. Dr Rodriguez and her staff continue to be the absolute best medical office I’ve ever encountered. When I had placenta previa at 24 weeks they were extremely responsive, caring and knowledgable. They also had me see
Dr Gutkin for higher resolution ultrasounds just in case. I also had some complications pre-​delivery and Dr Rodriguez, Wendy and team made sure I had the correct labs done and ultimately sent me to the hospital to be induced. Dr R was on the phone with Torrance Memorial at 4am, 11:30pm etc throughout both of my hospital visits. The nurses at Torrance all love her and say she is one of the best doctors that delivers there. When I had another complication post birth they were calling the ER, getting me seen immediately. These people care so much about their patients, on the 20+ visits in their office I saw it every time. I’ve never seen a more organized office either– from my leave paperwork, to insurance, to lab results– nothing has ever fell though the cracks. I’m sending all my friends in LA to Dr R, and when it’s time for baby #2 I know I’ll receive the best care again from them.

I waited a few years to write this review because reviewing a physician should not be based on the first visit, but the relationship as a whole.
I’d like to address some of the negative comments on here first. I have sat in the waiting room, being that I was of Advanced maternal age, several days in a row, weeks on end. I saw some of the instances remarked. I saw the staff try to accommodate some very aggressive, rude potential patients that expected the office to work miracles while the patient have no accountability to provide information the office can’t obtain. I have NEVER in that time heard or seen any unprofessional behavior. I see regret by the staff that more cant be done to provide good customer service
The wait time? Yes, it can be long. Suck it up, people! You want a good Dr, but you want it now, now, now! Then go to a regular clinic Dr and get shuffled in and out like a conveyor belt. That’s not Dr. Rodriguez. Or her staff. Yes, some visits I had her PA Sylvia, and I would not have been in better hands. Remember that you wanted a professional to deliver your baby? In order to do so, she has to be out of the office in the hospital, so… no, you won’t always get her at every visit. She is in demand because she is awesome! But she makes sure you’re in good hands! On critical issues or follow up questions of great importance, Sylvia always deferred to meet With Dr. R.
The office staff is sweet, kind and asks about your other kids or your life and remembers you!
This was my second child after a horrific C-​section experience with another Dr and practice. Dr. R delivered my baby, even with some previous adhesions that took 30 – 45 min longer to remove so my baby could be delivered. She was professional, intelligent, informative… and very accommodating. She listened to my birth plan wishes and followed them. As for Torrance Memorial Nurses saying they wouldn’t have her deliver their baby… umm…all my nurses said she was the best in South Bay and they loved working with her most of all. And Inwas referred to her by an TM nurse, so not sure where that comment came from? Postpartum care was perfect! She isn’t my doctor alone and I appreciate the time, patience and understanding this office lends.
I adore these people and this practice. We may end up going to the Inland Empire and if I’m lucky enough to get pregnant at 42 with another baby, I’m making the drive to This office. I love each and every one of them for the incredible experience I was fortunate enough to have. 5 stars isn’t enough.

I had the worst experience with Dr. Elena Rodriguez. She conducted a biopsy on my first visit. I had to go to urgent care the next day because I had lower abdominal pain, fever & body aches similar to the flu, but turned out it was not the flu. It was a possible infection from the biopsy. My fever did not go away after two entire days of taking antibiotics and fever medication. I ended up emergency room and was omitted. The next day Dr. Rodriguez arrived to so called check on my at the hospital. Her first series of question to me were «What happened to you?», «Why did you come to this hospital?». She was arrogant to tell me that if I wanted to be her patient I would have to go to the hospital closet to her office. Her behavior was pompous, rude, and down right ignorant.

Went in for 4 visits spent about $ 1000 on tests and never once saw or heard from the MD after finding out some bad results, only saw the PA. Referred by a family physician who is also an OB/​GYN that actually taught Elena Rodriguez and she couldn’t even return his call after numerous attempts. Glad I didn’t go through with the surgery with this kind of results will definitely find another MD that cares about her patients.

If there is a way to give not even one star I would do so. Horrible treatment from the team. I’m wondering how would the doctor hire or keep a rude front desk person. My advise don’t go there!!!

After two very long and painful recoveries from two previous c-​sections, I decided to change my doctor and came across Dr. Rodriguez on Unilocal.I am so thankful I found her! From the moment I called to make my first appointment, the girls in the office were very organized & informative. They emailed me all the forms that I needed to fill out for my first visit and set me up with the patient portal. The minute I met Dr. Rodriguez, I knew I was in good hands. She explained to me that I would have a third c-​section and reassured me that I will be ok. She was very informative and caring throughout my whole pregnancy. Her PA Sylvia was also very knowledgable and sweet. All her staff works diligently to provide their clients with the best care possible. The day of my c-​section, Dr. Rodriguez arrived on time and delivered my healthy baby boy. My recovery was fast and my pain was minimal. She is a true angel.

Great place, highly recommend! I chose this practice because I used to see Dr. Rodriguez at her old practice– she is so popular that she was booked up, but I was able to see Wendy, who was awesome– very thorough, caring and helpful. I love the décor of the office too, feels like you are waiting in someone’s living room! The front desk staff was great too. I really love that they use an online portal, where you can get results and e-​mail the doctors.

I went to see her to get help for my hot flashes a few years ago. I can’t really remember but I know I was very upset. Let me try to remember what happened.
First, when I got there, The assistant told me to get undressed and wear the gown. I told her I just came to ask her about my symptoms. She said the chart said to do that. I almost did but the assistant came back and said it was wrong and I didn’t need to change! I almost changed into a gown for nothing!
Dr was nice but she got a wrong persons chart or something. She kept talking about different thing and I remember thinking ‘what is wrong with this dr???‘
I never went back!

Through Unilocal,I found Dr. Rodriguez. I researched her on other sites too. She knows her customers come through Unilocal.Before I begin, nurses who work at Torrance Memorial wouldn’t have her deliver their baby. Read the reviews that Unilocal has hidden from you, it shows more negative reviews. I had the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life with her. When you first meet Dr. Rodriguez, she’s super bubbly. I liked her because she was tough, meaning, I was a first time parent and I needed someone who would snap me out of my worries and just say it how it is. So Dr. Rodriguez’ no BS approach was a fit for my personality. Also, i have low pain tolerance, and I didn’t know how I was going to react to a new painful experience of delivering a baby, so I needed a doctor who wouldn’t panic at my delivery reactions. I actually ended up just riding through the contraction pain waves, not one beep out of me. My epidural ran out before i Evan began pushing and the doc was following my lead on my pushes. Anyways, As I got to know Dr. R more, I saw that she wasn’t patient, friendly, and she didn’t spend much time explaining questions/​concerns, mind you, I didn’t need my hand being held through the pregnancy process, that’s why I chose her, but I would’ve like to know the Why of things. I saw the difference when I would meet with her PA Sylvia Chen. Who btw is amazing and I loved her. She’d do my check ups and would explain things to me. She made me feel very comfortable. Dr. R would also forget what you’re appointment was about, which is fine, if it’s a regular check up, but not with what I went through. I delivered a 9.2 pound baby vaginally, I am 5’1. In our meeting before delivery, She had warned me the baby might be big and I might need a c section. I said, «I would like to deliver vaginally, but I am OPEN to a c section. I want a healthy baby. But I do NOT want an episiotomy and I do NOT want him suctioned out.» I wasn’t adamant about a vaginal delivery. I trusted her opinion. The time had come to have the baby, nurses who were caring for me were saying, «I’m not surprised if he’s 8 pounds, even 9 pounds.» I had began the pushing process with the nurse. Dr. R was going to determine if I was to deliver vaginally or by c section. By that point I was hoping c section but I didn’t know what the right choice was. I’m not a doctor and this was my first child. Dr. Rodriguez came in and she just looked at my vagina and said, «oh yeah she can do it.» She chose vaginally and He wasn’t coming out. She said baby will need to be vacuumed out, I didn’t know that meant having an episiotomy too. She didn’t say I was having an episiotomy. Dr. Rodriguez made the mistake of deciding to deliver vaginally and then she had to do everything she could to deliver him that way. Even though he was A: in the wrong position (he was turned to his side), B: he was big, and C: his umbilical cord was wrapped. My baby came out. But I got damaged. I’m saying all this because I can’t just say she damaged me. You, the reader, won’t understand it and will risk going to her. 2 weeks postpartum I called them because my privates were in a lot of pain, the nurse said «its all normal and don’t you just hate that.» They didn’t set up an appointment to make sure I was fine and i trusted them, They’re the professionals. 7 weeks PP, I had my check up appointment. She checked me and IT was still open. It was a 2 inch open wound. She gave me cream to thicken the muscle and to help closed the wound. But said I might need a redo episiotomy. The cream helped closed a bit but not completely. The other damage was extensive and it was an obvious stitching mistake. She made it seem and made me believe, that maybe because I was carrying the baby or because I got up too sudden from the couch, that I had damaged myself. But by the looks of it, it was obviously impossible. 9 weeks PP checkup she said I was going to need a redo episiotomy as soon as possible. I had been through a lot of pain and my gut told me To get second opinion. First doc said to just let it heal some more. Second doc said if I’m still in pain, to get surgery done. The third Doctor actually did an extensive check up and said the pain was because I still had stitches inside that had not come out. Which IS normal. She also said that I will not need an episiotomy. I just needed small cosmetic surgery, but that’s when I’m done having babies. THAT night, I had absolutely no pain. I don’t know if stitches came out or if infection was healed by the check up. But I was in no pain after her extensive check up. This was 4 months later. IF my actual Doctor, Dr. Rodriguez, had checked me extensively at 9pp, my pain would’ve been avoided. But she was too scared. Her business is her baby. I honestly believe this. I started feeling myself at 6 months PP. I am traumatized by this experience and I will never go back to her again and do not recommend her to anyone. Sorry Dr. R. But you screwed me up.

Love coming to this office Cynthia the receptionist at the front desk is so nice and professional. Megan the PA is very professional, nice and she was very thorough when she explained to me what my medical problem was. They moved to the 4^th floor, the old office was very nice but this new office is beautiful, I love the decoration it makes me feel welcomed

I just had my first visit at this office, and I really enjoyed my appointment! The décor and «zen» attitude of the office was fantastic. And the staff were amazing and kind! The reason I left my previous obgyn office was because of the staff– they seemed stressed constantly and were not very good at hiding it from the patients. This staff was busy, but were cool, calm, and collected, and were very friendly! My yearly exam was with Megan, the NP and she was so sweet, kind, and thorough! I left feeling very educated about my health.

Dr. Rodriguez is wonderful. She is friendly, down to earth, a great listener and always answers emails or calls back in a timely manner. The staff is very nice, professional and organized. The office is beautiful with pretty paintings on the wall, sculptures, and candles that make you feel calm. Very «Zen». I love that they have a website to view lab results, send emails and make appointments.
Miss Sylvia also checked on me during my pregnancy and she is so cool. I was a nervous wreck during my pregnancy & they helped calm my nerves. Dr. Rodriguez delivered my baby & I could not express how happy I was that she was there. Now the only negative to consider is the wait times can be long, sometimes 30 – 40 minutes over schedule but that is because they take their time with the patients & sometimes have to run out for an emergency. Bring a magazine & patience & you will be fine.

If you have some bleeding, Rh negative or ³⁴⁄₃₅ or up I would see dr naylor in addition to seeing any physician. Most obgyn’s refer those types of patients to the high risk dr naylor but I never was; even with those high risk factors. If I had been maybe I could have found out sooner something was wrong or maybe I could have avoided my miscarriage all together. Food for thought. I will never know. The only regret I have is that this office never suggested seeing him as well as them. I do not blame this physician but I am very disappointed that I was never referred to dr naylor like other obgyn’s locally do even if their patient is 35. I do not blame this doctor for my miscarriage but I have to wonder if we would have known more going to the high risk doctor (dr naylor) other obs here refer to him for just the age reason alone to be «safe» however it was never mentioned to me.
Great things: As far as the office and the staff, I loved them. they were nice, responsive and were able to get me in for any appointments needed. The office is cozy so I didn’t mind waiting. remember they are an obgyn office… you will always wait in this environment at any obgyn office. Dr R is very responsive.
Downside-​you never see much of the Doctor. You see the nurse practitioner often. So I felt the doctor never really knew me or that I was Rh negative and had bleeding in the first couple of months. I saw her initially and then when I miscarried at 4 months. They tested for everything to find the cause but could not find any reason. I also was told she may not deliver my baby unless dr r is working that day in Torrance hospital. That’s how it works. They have a schedule so this doctor may not deliver your baby. May not be a big deal, but keep that in mind.

Can I give a SHOUT OUT to Dr. Rodriguez and her medical team… Yes you Sylvia, Wendy, Maribel, Cynthia and the check in crew taking your weight, blood pressure, etc… I LOVE ALLYOU GUYS… I’m currently home on day 3 after my surgery done by Dr. Rodriguez and I feel SO on the road to a smooth recovery. From the beginning of discovering my issues through having to come to a serious decision to have surgery. Dr. Rodriguez and her staff removes any pressure on you but give you all the info after running test after test and allow you the room to confidently make the right decision… THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I don’t usually write reviews on Unilocal but I just had to because finding the right GYNO/​OBGYN is TOUGH for us girls. So this is a genuine testimonial.

Stunning office with a great warm welcoming staff! Couldn’t be happier that Unilocal led me to find Dr. Rodriguez’s office when I decided it was time to try somewhere new. The waiting room feels like a well decorated friends living room with several sofas, a large cozy rug, and a large TV that is playing… drum roll. a season of FRIENDS! Could it get any better?
I met with Meagan who was so sweet and made me feel completely at ease while asking questions about birth control options, health care, and anything else that concerned me health wise. I left feeling totally comfortable and well informed– I am so happy I made the switch to this office!

I have never seen the Doctor or know nothing about her patient care. This review is based on first impressions when i walked in and initial appointment for whom i came to aid for a procedure that was being performed to my friend. Appointment was scheduled for 230PM and seen at 246PM

— Patients waiting were taken vitals then asked to go back to waiting room
— One person complained to Cynthia (Staff) about website. Cynthia replied «They have been working on that forever «.
— Seating was comfortable and you can watch Netflix and pick a show on a first come basis.
— Front desk seemed very busy and might be under staffed as phones were answered and being placed on hold while Cynthia is checking in patients and faxing documents at the same time.
I took two stars away since I know nothing about Doctor’s patient car and understaffing and website complaint.
Update: After receiving an email from the business regarding my poor review I decided to give an additional star after realizing that it’s more than one doctor at the this place of business. I was also asked «Why I left a review if I have never seen the Doctor». Its my right to review any place of business based on experiences, accommodations, and observations and services.

I didn’t have a chance to meet the doctor or have an actual appointment. I have no idea what it would have been like. I had to wait more than a month to get an appointment at this place. When I booked the appt I was very clear that I just started working at a new company and cannot take time off.
I called this morning to get more info because I got turned around because my GPS was acting up. I was told not to bother coming in, mind you it was 5 mins after my appt and that I would have to reschedule because I need to fill out an application. So what? I can fill it out quickly and if there are a lot of people I will freaking WAIT.
It took me more than a month to get this appointment and I’m not just going to see the doctor for FUN. I took the morning off from my brand NEW job to go to this and now she is telling me I have to RESCHEDULE? I explained this but the person (young child) on the line didn’t care. Needless to day I will not be rescheduling with this office. They wasted most of my morning today.
Never again. Too bad because this was a referral from a good friend.
