Parking — 2 handicap spots but have to climb over a high curb to get across the driveway. there is a cutout a way from the door. Soup and salad bar are only saving grace to this store. Salad bar well stocked and many choices to construct a salad. We were there on Wednesday so the soups were Clam Chowder and Chicken Noodle. Clam chowder was very good, lots of clam pieces a few small potato pieces and a thick creamy flavorful soup. This was the only saving thing in this place. There were some things that looked like folded tortillas with something inside and a meat sauce covering them. Whatever they were they tasted salty and terrible. Into the trash. There was a brown piece of meat that I guess was supposed to be roast beef. My shoe sole looked more appetizing. The ham resembled ham but was multi colored, light and dark, all dry. They tried to give me a dry first slice. Got a second slice that turned out to be tasteless except for the salt. Tried the fried butterfly shrimp. They tasted like fried bread crumbs. Had a stick that may have been fried fish but I am not sure. Had green beans and corn. Cold right out of the can into the insert. No flavor even with butter and salt and pepper. Found someone to refill the cones and had a soft serve ice cream. That was good. Also had a small piece of chocolate pie that was on a broken plate. The plate should have not been used and should have been discarded. Did not see the cracked corner until I got to my table. I used to go to the Gardena store but it is closed. I think this store and maybe the company is next.

I had a great time earlier tonight with my kids. We come on Thursday often for the family deal. This is my 8 year old sons dad spot.

Isn’t the most luxurious, or the best one, but is good, prices are reasonable and the food is good… is always something for each one to eat! Even the dessert table is appetizing! And parking is always avaliable, is big!

I used to love this place when I was a kid and I went here on Saturday… DISAPPOINTMENT. the food was horrible and it looked like microwave food. I was so disappointed. Never coming back here again. I would give this place zero stars if I can

If your lazy to cook then great you can sit here and not worry about dirty dishes at home. One thing I didn’t like is when one of the employees came up to my table asking me to see my receipt with the excuse that she was only asking because she was our server, I found it quite embarrassing, uncomfortable. NOWTHEFOODISOK. NOTGREATSODONTHAVEHIGHEXPECTATIONSHERE. The cheesecake is nasty the jello horrible mac and cheese bad.

Okay, let’s start with the positive(always start with the good. lol). The staff were very friendly and professional and genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience. The best thing I can say about the food though is that it’s uniformly somewhere between edible and not that bad. I sampled the ‘salisbury steaks’ and the ‘somewhat-reminiscent-of-an-asian flavored chicken patty’, the fried chicken, the broccoli and the string beans. Oh, and a boomerang-shaped battered fish filet. As for the Salisbury steak, which were all slightly smaller than a hockey puck and somewhat more tender, the flavor was okay. I think there were hints(however faint) of green bell pepper in there somewhere. The gravy was suitably congealed for what I would expect from a buffet, and the thin brown skin was easily perforated with the steal ladle. The batter on the fish filet looked promising but it had a gooey texture just under the jaundiced crispy exterior. The flavor of the fish wasn’t bad. It reminded me a lot of a Filet-O-fish that you can get on almost any corner. The green bean still haunt be. Their flaccid texture and insipid flavor… eh! I imagined them coming right out of an industrial sized tin an plopped into the rectangular heating pan. They had no texture at all. Didn’t like them at all. The Broccoli were well cooked, which I usually like, but the cheese sauce(I was really wallowing in the trough of mediocrity that day; don’t judge me! lol) didn’t add to the flavor of the broccoli at all, and ended up covering up a lot of the natural flavor of the vegetable(natural might be a strong word). I think I have said enough here. I will only go bad after enough time has lapsed for the food memory to fade, and then I may wallow at that trough once more. Is food Karma a thing? If it is, I feel like I have some atoning to do after going here.

They have good food at reasonable prices. Pros lots of places to choose from to sit & eat they have enough room to accommodate our group of 8 this location has a back area where I was able to have my sons stroller and not worry about to much noise sense he was sleeping. The food looks taste and smells fresh really enjoyed their pot pies not many do you had to hurry and grab yours while they lasted. All of the food was good I did enjoy the salad bar lots of things to choose from and create Mixes of greens. Another pro was their selection of desserts I have such a sweet tooth and I really enjoyed the variety of desserts they had. Awww I would go back just for the dessert #fatgirlproblems I know lol but they were good Con this place did have one and it was that same quite spot in the back only thing it was freezing cold back their and that’s all

It’s been awhile since I’ve eaten here. Came for breakfast. Everything was good. Liked that they finally have fried chicken to go with the waffles. There seems to be a greater variety of food than before. It was better prepared. So I’ll be back to this location

I use to eat here almost weekly growing up, back then hometown use to be good quality. This place officially sucks now. The staff are friendly and give great customer service. But the food has gone to crap. Nothing taste good besides the desert. Everything taste bad quality and has a non fresh texture. I don’t think it is even safe to eat here to be honest. Just my opinion from some one that has ate at this location for over 18 years.

Decent food for the masses, but the salad bar was noteable for selection. And for lunch the prices are hard to beat. They will even let your dog or cat go in and you can serve them food off the buffet line… Just kidding, pets outside only. Parking was decent as were the bathrooms. Service was good and better than most would expect for a cheaper style buffet. Would I go back??? Maybe for lunch. I went late afternoon on Saturday after strolling the new section of Del Amo Mall. They were only carving ham, roast beef, and smoked sausage at that time. Desert bar was a little messed up, and would. probably avoid the ice cream machine as was heavy harassed by the youngsters tongues.

Very disgusted with customer service at this hometown buffet. I don’t come to this place often. I came with my family Friday, 9 Oct around 7:30pm paid for 8 people and cashier Stacey made a mistake and put only 5 on the receipt. She made a mistake when the headcount should of been for 8. Bottom line I paid for 8, not 5. The assistant manager Humberto Sanchez rudely walked up to our table and in front of the other customers he was loud and clearly told us that we need to pay now if we want to continue eating. He didn’t take the time to truly listen to me. In other words, pay now or get out. It was an embarrassing and awkward moment. I am an entrusted person and would do nothing that dishonors me. This place lost me as a customer as their customer service is a train-wreck. The service that both Stacey and Humberto Sanchez let me down when I just wanted to enjoy the night with my family. I give this place zero stars.

First of all, the interior needs a renovation. Especially the buffet area. Also the labels for the food are not correct. You’ll find fried chicken labeled under orange chicken. The food is not that great. The omelette station is dirty. There is food all over the counter, and when they wipe a pan, they use the same towel to wipe the counter to wipe the pan. When I saw that, I took myself out of that line. That is very unsanitary. The chicken fried steak was over cooked. There is a difference between crunchy and over cooked. They need a greater selection of fruits. Also they need to clean the ice cream area. You can’t avoid that toppings will be mixed together, but the ice cream machine itself is a mess. They really need to step it up because for me, this place is a thumbs down. I wouldn’t mind giving this place another shot if they did a total renovation. PS they now serve Cinnabon also for dessert and I’ll just say that it was undercooked, and seem liked an old batch that was just microwaved.

I don’t understand the hate for HomeTown buffet. Certainly a high quality buffet. The breakfast is amazing they have an omlette station hell they even put chocolate chips in their pancakes. The little ones. The Ham isn’t cheap ham, it is wedding quality carving board ham. Additionally they have a Cinnabon station. Normally you’d pay out the ass for Cinnabon on the freeway. Boom you got half the value of your buffett cost right there. The dinner is great too, plenty of veggies, the chicken fried steak, and the fried chicken is really on point. The sesame chicken is literally the best sesame chicken I have had in California thus far.(Sorry, California I haven’t found much in terms of good chinese food out here.) The breakfast is only $ 8 and the dinner is only $ 12 and they REALLY take pride in their customer service. The only buffetts I have had better than hometown are in Las Vegas and Duke’s and each of those was double the price. INCREDIBLE buffett and INCREDIBLE bang for your buck. The ONLY draw back is that the place draw a Walmart-esque crowd. But I don’t care about that too much if the food is this good. I think people ragging on Hometown are being unnecessarily elitist and hoity toity, that is what I think. BESTBUFFET! sure beats all the mom and pop ones.

Chicken pot pie tastes like vomit. Why are the chips and queso dip sour? Mashed potato bland as hell even with gravy. Waffle fries looked promising but they were hard as a rock(clearly sat out too long). Pizza tastes like something you’d get in the supermarket frozen aisle and heat it up yourself. Fried rice bland. Teriyaki chicken looked and tasted like mystery meat. I thought the dessert would at least be better because… how could you mess that stuff up? Wrong. Chocolate chip cookie was okay, but everything else I tried was gross. Chocolate molten cake was melted. Bread pudding was disgusting and bland. Rice Krispy treat was too buttery. Also, the soda… I chose Coca Cola and the thing came out watered down. It was nowhere near dark. I thought I was taking Sprite or something for a sec. Came here at 3.30 on a Monday afternoon. It’s cool there wasn’t a lot of people here, so you can get up and get your food without beating huge crowds. But a downer to that is the food isn’t fresh… and you start noticing a shady crowd. Not dangerous. But the kinda crowd you get here mid afternoonish just makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. Ugh. So many bad things about this spot. I mean… it is Hometown after all. But still. Just when I thought the Buena Park spot was gross, this truly tops it all, sadly. Never coming back here ever again. I knew I should have gone to Sizzler…

My family and came here few weeks ago to celebrate my sons baptism. And it was not too crowded at the restaurant. But the room we dined in was stuffy so we asked the worker there if they could turn on the AC? And they said sure. As soon as the AC was on I was ready to grub lol. I mean, I didn’t want to sit in a stuffy room stuffing my face so uncomfortable as if I’m in a room with two hot ovens on and the windows are closed haha anyways food was great and my kids loved it! Esp the claw game omg that’s another story lol All in all, we had a great time with great food and company.

Looking for a breakfast place in Torrance to eat with a friend and realized that there aren’t that many options like in the beach cities. Passed HTB and figured why not?! We remember loving it when we were little. They have a good variety of food and the prices are really decent. For breakfast they offered a salad bar(did see people eating this at 8am), fruit/potato salad/jello area, normal breakfast food(eggs, potatoes, etc), eggs benedict, taco/nachos(for those wanting heart burn in the AM), soup(like an albondigas), an omelet station!, and the dessert area had donuts/pastries/toast. This location definitely needs a little bit of upgrading, but there was plenty of parking and the staff was really helpful and friendly. TIP: Sign up for their texts and you get«coupons» on your phone… sometimes BOGO or just discounts.
