Ok, brass tacks… they come off a little brusque here. It’s a Korean thing, and a language thing, I’m not about to hold that against these guys. Our waiter warmed up to us when I cracked a joke about Korean drinking etiquette; He commented that I poured my beer well, and I said, «I know the rules… I’m older than [my girlfriend], so she has to drink it!» He lit up and chuckled, pointed at me with a look like, «bro~» and from that point on, we were family. He made recommendations with the utmost care, came and cut up our marinated steak for us. I’m guessing you need to be down with Korean eating culture to earn your service, which may sound crazy, but I really enjoy the idea. Food Their marinades are what make this place. Bulgogi, chicken, spicy pork… Everything we tried was deep and flavorful. Their platter of brisket is MASSIVE, and delightfully juicy. Unlike a lot of other KBBQ joints, they include tofu stew and bibimbap on the list for all you can eat offerings. They have a salad bar of garnishes and the like, so you can load up on your favorites. With wagyu on the menu for the premium AYCE($ 25 as opposed to $ 20) I may splurge next time. Drink Korean beer in bombers is petty reasonable at 7 bucks and great to share. TL;DR: Delightfully awkward at first, but the best KBBQ I’ve had yet!

Food here is great. I mean it’s Korean BBQ so it can’t reall fail to be honest. But I have to say their service aren’t so friendly. They forgot our order and the waiters and waitresses give off an attitude of «Wow I hope you never come back». If it was only for food I would rate this place higer but their service is just unfriendly in every way.

I’ve been here a few times recently and the food is so good! The meat looks and tastes fresh. I love that they have a salad bar where you can get potatoes, onions, mushrooms, jap chai, daikon, and other banchanns for a good kbbq experience. I took off a star because I felt like I was a burden whenever asking for anything.

Good selection of meats. I love that they have pork jowl and they don’t skimp the order like other places(Gen). I love their soft tofu soup and bibimbap. Knock off one star because service isn’t always good.

WORSTKOREANBBQ in LA. This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. I came here with two of my friends to have Korean bbq. The server said they are out of all the side dish. Ok. We told him«We think it’s not fair for us to pay full fee. Can you do something about it?» Later, manager came to us and said that he’s pissed off that we don’t want to pay the money. They did not ANYSIDEDISH left. He also said he cannot give us any discount for it. What he was saying to us was«You guys came late and other restaurants this time doesn’t have side dish left» WTF? We asked the server if he can do anything about it. If they told us they are out of ALL the side dish we wouldn’t go into this place. All OTHER tables had rice, all the side dish and he told us it ISOUR fault we came here LATE. We sat on the table at 9 pm. Wow. Manager kept coming to our place and told us it is our fault anyway. He did not even said sorry. All i asked for him was saying«sorry». I have been living here in LA for more than 5 years and never had this experience. NEVER goto this place if you want to enjoy Korean BBQ. Servers and manager cuts down all the reviews about this place.

Worst service ever. If you are not Korean and can’t speak Korean — good luck getting any decent service around this place. They treat you bad and won’t even take the full order and would just leave, while you are talking to them. They would bring out half of what you ordered and the other half never shows up, so you end up reminding them over and over again. Very annoying. Food is very good, but would not come back because of the poor service.

Been coming here for a long time. I never get tired of this place, it’s delicious and the service is fast. The staff members are nice, and very quick. The meat is good, but not top notch. Their bibim bap is to die for. Also, they have a salad bar with fruits and all kinds of stuff. It’s definitely worth the money. And it’s not that expensive!

I love this place. I go at least 3 times a month and I’m always satisfied. I love the salad bar. It has everythingggg that I need for proper KBBQ. That’s the one this that I love about this place. They have lettuce wraps and they have shredded green onion, which goes great with the meat. The sauce for the shredded green onion is on the side. It’s the one that looks similar to soy sauce. I feel the price is fair because all I really get is pork and beef and I eat A LOT of it. If you go to a non AYCE Kbbq, you’re going to be paying A HELLOF A LOT more than $ 20 for a few plates of beef and pork belly. The service has always been good every time I’ve been here. It gets very very busy at nights on the weekend, so if you plan on going to dinner, I would go around 4:30PM. If you go after 5, you’re going to be waiting a long time. I definitely recommend going weekdays.

Definitely not the best KBBQ. This place used to be good, but they change owners frequently and now it’s not so great. I decided to come back to Ko Ryu Jung after 5 years from my past bad experience, and it was a mistake. Things have gotten better, but not that much better. First off, this place gets crowded really fast, and it seems to prioritize ethnic Koreans first. Luckily, one of the friends I came with spoke with the waitress in Korean, and the waitress replied in Korean that she will seat us first. Seems like there’s some ethnic and racial bias. Second, the service here is horrible. Our waiter was so busy with other tables that he hardly came to our table. We were constantly left parched because we ran out of water. Also, our waiter didn’t understand English very well, so we had to frequently repeat our orders. The worst part was when the manager/owner came to our table and yelled at me because I had my flame too high for cooking a particular meat. The man could have simply told me, yet he yelled at me saying that I was supposed to cook the meat at a low flame. After he yelled at me, he yelled at my friend in Korean. Never experienced such a rude and disrespectful experience from a restaurant. Not to mention, it took about 5 – 10 minutes to get our meat after we ordered it. The service was slow and lacking. Third, the meat selection isn’t that great for the price you pay. Speaking of, the price for dinner is $ 20 per person, which is average for KBBQ. However, I get a better and tastier meat selection at Gen, a non-authentic KBBQ restaurant. The fact that a non-authentic KBBQ restaurant beats an authentic KBBQ is sad, and it really shows how pathetic this place is. My recent visit has reminded me of why I didn’t come back here for the past 5 years, and I will definitely not be coming back here soon, if ever. You’ll get a better experience if you go to BCD just next door. Now that is some good and authentic Korean food.

Finally discovered a kbbq place that has perilla leaves and large lettuce leave you can actually wrap your grilled meat in, instead of just the basic salad(but their usual salad is pretty good too). THEYHAVE A SALADBAR = EVENMOREOPTIONS?! More side dishes/sauces/veggies when you order any AYCE option. We got option B for $ 19.99. We didn’t get to try everything though. :’((((((Totally worth the $ 19.99 to me because you can order a bowl of bibimbap, tofu soup, steamed egg and steamed rice with just Option B. Heck, you can order all of those in addition to your meat!!! Speaking of the meat, their meat is so much better than most of the other usual AYCE kbbq places. Total: $$ 46.58(2 $ 19.99 specials + tip) I WILLBEBACK.

Of all the kbbq that I’ve been to this place Is the worst ! Service is slow. Food is very mediocre. We requested for forks and oh well not all Asians know how to use chop sticks and the lady gave us plastic forks. The burner as well was too high so it easily burnt the brisket that we ordered. What annoyed me the most was the seat my daughter was seating has a gum on it and it was all over her pants. To our disappointment we just rushed out and paid for our bill and I swear never coming back to this place ! I will tell all my friends as well not to eat on this lousy establishment ! I am beyond disappointed!!!

First of all, this place has a great quality of meat. For people loving Kobe Beef. Here served unlimited meat for you. I had a party with my coworkers yesterday. They all love it. Except the services, do not expect good service from the guy who wears the colorful long sleeve shirt. He seems a manager here. But for servers who wear black shirt are always nice to customers. The manager guy look mean to most customers. No smile and when we ask anything more his face looks unpleasant. Well, I still give them 4stars. If you dont mind the service, I do recommend this place for good quality of food.

This place is good for AYCE in Torrance since there’s not that many places in torrance. There’s 2 options for AYCE. Option A($ 25 per person) or option B($ 20). option B comes with a good amount of choices so I’m content with that. Service can be hit or miss depending on when you go and how busy it is. I do like that you’re able to get your salad and side dishes yourself because whenever I go to other kbbq places, it takes forever to get a bowl of salad. And I’m able to get as much as I want without having to bug the employees about anything. There are certain things that you do have to ask the employees for though. Parking can be tricky since it’s located at the corner of the plaza and there’s a lot of shops with a little bit of parking, but try to get there before the lunch/dinner rushes. I come here because I don’t want to drive all the way to LA for AYCE bbq and I think this place is better than Gen in my opinion.

Went in on a night when there’s not many people dining. Environment Once seated down, you can definitely feel the greasiness on the table and see it on the wall all around you. Its as though they never clean them before. The greasiness with the darkness of the restaurant, it makes me feel really uncomfortable.(got the feeling that something’s gonna crawl out of that hole in the corner.) Service It was good. It was a slow night for them, it better be lol. We got everything on time and they were attentive to our needs. Half way through our meal, a big party arrive, and the servers went faster on the pace. Grabbing utensils, napkins for the table to be ready. But here’s the problem, one of the server dropped the napkin on the FLOOR, the oily floor, the floor that hundreds/thousands stepped on. He picked it up and put it back to the napkin pile on the shelf. I feel very sorry for the next person who’s gonna be asking for napkins. I think i’ll just stick with another BBQ place.

Ahh. this place is my new home to satiate my KBBQ craving. The servers come by frequently, you have a salad bar to get all the japchae you could possibly want(or desire to eat) and even get a little bit of fruit(lychee, canned peaches, watermelon) to finish off your meal. The grills are a bit hit or miss, some of them heat one side more than the other(the server say this is intentional. but, it is annoying), some are fine. The last visit we sat in the back room and had no problems with the burner and it had some good power. Do you enjoy good meat? Opt in for the $ 24.99 – the fatty delicious finger meat(#1) is enough for you to get this, but you also get 1 ribeye steak for every 2 people, and 1 marinated short rib(good size) per person. If you don’t care so much and can live off brisket, go ahead and stick to the $ 19.99, they even have a cheaper menu for lunch if you’re fine with a simpler menu. Why dock a star? Guess some little gnats or fruit flies got in and there were some dead in the lychee and peaches juice. I understand bugs get into the establishment, but check your bar once in awhile and clear it out if you see it. If it happens, check more often! Don’t get me wrong. despite the bugs. I’ll still be back. the bugs stay away from the hot sizzling grill and that is okay with me :)

I would rather have King Kong take a huge dump on me rather than go here again and let me tell you why… First off, the people who were ahead of us in the waiting line didn’t show up. The person in charge instead let groups who came in after us to go in before us. It also really sucks that employees just blatantly smoke outside in the waiting area; it doesn’t help that customers do the same thing too. Once inside, we found a paltry set of side dishes and there was no rice paper at all. This is the first KBBQ place in SoCal that I know of that ran out of rice paper. To make matters worse, we had to ask for rice four times before they finally gave it to us. The servers don’t have great memory nor do they have great attitudes; they had a proclivity to forget things we asked for. Instead, you have to ask multiple times before you can get items that you want. They also apparently don’t have vents because the smoke will irritate your eyes. The menu itself is $ 20 for the basic AYCE option and the food tasted as good as most KBBQ restaurants. With all the shoddy service, there was no one to actually take the check and give me back change. Apparently you have to ask someone to take your check at this establishment. The only thing I really liked here was the fact that they were playing Korean pop videos. Other than that, your time is better spent inspecting dog turds on people’s lawns than eating at this place.

Anyone who gives this restaurant a rating lower than 3 stars should be checked into a mental hospital for being absolutely delusional! Almost everything I have said in my past review still stands. I went here again for my little sister’s hs graduation dinner. Some things have changed. Their salad is lettuce instead of cabbage, good. They have a salad bar. The salad bar has many fruits, veggies, noodles, and it’s always filled up. My favorite part of it is the sweet mashed potato. I always get a big plate-full. Not every place has something like this. Although, I’d recommend that they have rice and rice paper there too so we wouldn’t have to ask. As for service, they’re not perfect. But what kbbq place is? My parents get really butt hurt when it comes to service(they were officially done with Gen a few months ago). They still want to come here. The people genuinely try here.

This was my first visit to Ko Ryo Jung, in Torrance. My initial thoughts of the restaurant was quite fine. Here are my remarks, as follows Pros — quality of meat was superb — the pork belly is very delicious – repeatedly kept ordering — the side dishes were quite good – nice variety of kimchi — dining space is quite spacious – we had about 14 in our party — ample parking Cons — ambiance is quite dark and not well-lit — service was ok – but I’ve definitely experienced better — the neighboring diners were so loud – guessing it’s a cultural thing, but didn’t really appreciate all the hollering and loud talking Overall Definitely not bad at all, but I will admit I’ve had a better experience at other AYCE kbbq restaurants. Overall Grade? B+ /A–

My review for this kBBQ place needs to be updated! My boyfriend and I love this place – nothing beats their customer service and the quality of the meat they offer. Yes, their prices increased – for lunch, I believe it’s still $ 13.99, but for dinner, before it used to be $ 17.99, but now it’s $ 19.99 and the other option is $ 24.99. But it’s all worth it. Pros: –Quality of the meat –Customer service –Not as crowded as other $ 9.99 kBBQ –Salad bar –For us, it’s the nearest one –They now offer ice cream too! Besides all the pros mentioned, nothing beats their brisket sauce: it consist of jalapenos, radishes and onions. It’s called Cha Dol Sauce, I believe. They even have salad bar that has mushrooms, noodles, etc. Whether you get Option A or B, Kobe Beef Short Plate and Black Angus Prime Beef brisket are the must-try! They both seem similar, but one is thicker than the brisket, but it’s really good. And you can tell from the color of the meat, the quality is the best! And if you do get the $ 25 one, try their boneless short rib and Black Angus Beef Lip on Rib Eye, it’s really delicious! Every time we visit, this place also improves from their customer service to the quality of the meat they serve. This place deserves more than an average of 3 stars!
