Maison Optique Optometric Center

I was calling around different centers to see if they could fix my Dad’s glasses. They said they might and would gladly take a look. When I hung up, I felt like I had just talked to my best friend. She was so warm and helpful I realized I was going there anyway so I called back to make an appt. I was so impressed with the staff, all people I’d want as neighbors, the center is super clean. They could not fix my Dad’s glasses but referred me to someone who could, and did, I got 2 pairs of glasses too. Selection is extensive. I am super happy. Dr T as he is called is very nice and explained everything. I will be back for sure.

What a fantastic team, they talk to you and explain what they are doing and why. I just went through a bad eye disease and the team work to keep a check on the healing progress was magnificent. I go to them for my yearly exam and they show me the same concern and care. You cannot ask for any better Doctors, They are the BEST. The staff are an extension of there greatness.

I have literally only gone to Maison Optique my whole glasses wearing life, since I was 13. Now at nearly 40… well you can do the math. My son and wife go there too. When we lived in Orange County, guess what, went to that location as well. Always a good experience.

Dr Tamayo and his staff are outstanding. Their service and treatment is top flight. Dr T takes the time to explain what he finds and makes suggestions on treatment. About 5 years ago he found that I was developing Macula Deterioration (AMD) and referred me to the Retina Macula Institute where I have been treated for AMD. Dr Tamayo follows up with RMI to track my progress.
I would highly recommend Dr Tamayo to my friends.

So my mom found this little Gem on Unilocal and let me just say I could not be happier. I love the atmosphere here and all the ladies I have worked with they are so helpful and sweet! For my first eye appointment in a long time I could not have found a better place on my own! I love the parking there is ample amount which is good because I hate parking lots! I no longer have headaches because they did a thorough job when checking my eyes and even though I would have been impatient waiting on me they weren’t! They helped me with all my add ons to my glasses without a fuss! I also really appreciate that when their lunch time comes they don’t try to rush you out the door! They really know how to put their customers first! I love love love Maison Optique!

Outstanding service and quality of care for me and my entire family. Staff is friendly and professional. Their handling of insurance coverage is accurate. I have had to come in twice for urgent eye issues. Each time, I am worked in the schedule and taken care of by either doctor that is working that particular day. I have referred my friends here as well. I highly recommend this optometry group. I go to the Torrance office.

Dr. Robert Tamayo is one of the best I ever meet eye consulting doctor. He knows exactly what the problems is and very friendly. He explains ever detail of the problem in such a easy way.

If I could give 6 stars I would. Maison Optique has literally surprised me multiple times by going above and beyond to ensure my glasses are perfect.
I have astigmatism and need substantial prism to align my eyes, so getting the correct prescription can be challenging. Dr Tamayo took great care (and a LOT of extra time) to get it exactly right.
Their selection of frames is more limited than some other places, but I did find a pair I really liked, which is often a challenge. They have a two year warranty on the lenses, so if they get any scratches you just have to call them and they’ll have new ones made, and when they are ready you can go in and they’ll swap them out.
After a few months, I had to bring my glasses in for a minor repair, which they did within a few minutes. They noticed a couple scratches on the lenses and that there was some minor damage to the frames, and actually offered to replace both the lenses and frames. I also asked about alternative nose pads because the ones I had were hard plastic, and they happily switched them out with a pair of silicone pads.
Since I work on the computer for many hours every day, minor flaws in my glasses can (and have) lead to eye fatigue, headaches, double vision, etc. It is so great to finally find an optometrist that understands this and does everything they can to ensure the best possible experience.

I have gone to Dr. Tamayo for a few years now (when I first went for a visit, I hadn’t seen an eye doctor for 20 years). I don’t have insurance and was concerned the cost would be quite high. However, the fee for the exam is reasonable, especially considering how much they spend to check my eyes and see if there are any changes. They also are not quick to push glasses in order to make more money. When I visited the first time, my vision was slightly worse than ²⁰⁄₂₀ and he said at some point I’ll need a prescription to make it easier to see without having to really focus. Each year it’s been about the same or just a little bit of a change, but he still says we can wait and watch rather than prescribing glasses.
The doctors and staff are very friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this office to anyone needing an exam, glasses, or any other treatment.

I have been a customer of Maison Optique for over 10 years (that’s a guess). And it is about time I finally wrote to say how pleased I have been with their service. Both Dr. Tomayo and Tu are fantastic and nice… genuinely nice. When I get my exam, I never feel rushed and they always answer all of my questions.
The person that really stood out was one of their staff, Kathy. This individual not only seemed genuinely concerned about my glasses, and the quality of fit, she went out of her way to ensure I was happy with my lenses. Impressed is not the word that fits here. Maybe it is easier to say Kathy just blew me away with her attitude and attention to detail. Let me not forget the rest of the staff, as they have also been great in the past.
Now my wife and son go there for exams and glasses. I am a customer for life. It is easy to experience bad customer service. And when I find a place like Mason Optique, I want to tell everyone, So my 5 star rating is based on years of experience with both doctors and their staff.
I could go on and on, but my post would probably get flagged, But in a nutshell, they are great, the place is great, and you would be wise to see them if you need glasses.

I love Dr. Tamayo! He took excellent care of my eyes today and the girls Jen and kathy were very nice and welcoming. I will definitely become a regular client.
They take their time to make sure you leave happy and with healthy eyes.

I am always very pleased when I come to Maison Optique. I have gotten two or three pairs of prescription eyeglasses here and I have loved each one. They usually quote me that my glasses will be ready in two weeks and they’re usually done a lot earlier, which is great. Sometimes, if my glasses get bent, I stop by & they fix them for me in less than five minutes — at no charge! They’re awesome.
Everyone who works here is friendly and eager to help. Dr. Tu and Dr. Tamayo are wonderful doctors, always polite and answer any questions I have.
