Michael Yu, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Yu for the past three years and have recommended him to all my friends and family members.
He is one of the most caring doctors I ever met and has most courteous and throughful staff.

The staff was very polite and fast! Dr. Yu is very nice and I’m looking forward to being under his care for a long time!

Dr. Yu was assigned to my baby boy and I while I was recovering from a C-​section at Hoag Hospital. From the first time he examined my son, he was a delight. He has a great bedside manner, was wonderfully gentle with the baby and he has no problems spending extra time with you to answer any questions you might have. (and being a first time mom, I had quite a few…)
Fast forward a week to the baby’s first checkup. We were greeted by his friendly front office staff and were taken to a room fairly quickly. While we were waiting, my boyfriend and I kept hearing giggles and shrieks of laughter from the other rooms. Normally not something you hear at a Dr.‘s office! I know I was never excited to go to the Dr.‘s when I was a kid!
The kids and parents came out of the room with Dr. Yu right behind. The kids were still cracking up and Dr. Yu was still joking with them and it really made me happy to see that the kids seemed to love him so much! They got their stickers and gave him a hug before they left.
He came into our room next and checked out our son. He addressed all of our concerns and made me feel so much better about everything I had been so worried about, like having to supplement my breatsmilk with formula. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything to us and we left very well informed.
Unfortunately, a few days later, we got a call from his office staff who let us know that they don’t accept Medi-​Cal and it wasn’t caught on our first visit that we were covered by Medi-​Cal :(I’m so sad that we have to find another pediatrician. I’m even contemplating paying for office visits in cash… he’s that wonderful. Just so everyone knows, they accept PPO insurance plans, so if you have a PPO and are looking for an amazing Dr. for your little one, look no further! Dr. Yu is your man!
