Rolling Hills Lock & Key

Called in to get a quote for laser cutting automobile keys. They told me they will charge $ 25 dollars because it is laser cut. I went to the store only to find out they were closed during work hour. I call the store number the lady kept saying she is on her way. That she will be there in 5 minute (More like 10 minute). She opened the store and kept apologizing that she had to pick her kids from school. Being a parent, I totally sympathized. I provided her the two blank keys to that need to get copied. She kept insisting that she can’t guarantee that she can properly cut the keys since they were bought online and that she will still charge me $ 25 dollars whether my keys worked or not. I told her to go ahead. I thought since they are using laser cutter it will be pretty accurate. She started cutting right in front of my eyes using what looks like a miniature mill drill. I asked here where is the laser cutter. She kept insisting that it was a laser cutter. Lair, Lair pants on fire. By then she already started cutting the key so I said to myself let her finish. The key copy was such a botched job. When we tried it on the car door it wouldn’t even go in. I was so pissed of by then, I told her to call the owner. She told me that the owner was on a field work. I told her that I was not going to pay for the keys. Told her that she lied to me about using the laser cutter. By then, She told me I can leave without paying the $ 25 dollars. I ended up going to the Honda dealership and getting the remaining key cut for $ 15 dollars. The key worked with out a hitch. I hate being lied too. If you can’t do the job just say you can’t like the AC hardware store I asked. I feel bad for the countless people they screwed by promising to do a job that they can’t deliver for $ 25 dollar and key that was cut using improper tooling. I will never patronize there business.

I called to get a lock replaced and they would not give me a price over the phone. I even gave them the exact make and model of the lock and they still would not give me a price. I then asked what about the cheapest lock and I can replace it with a fancier one later and they would still not give me a price. I then asked how about a range, a minimum and maximum, and they still would not give me a price.
Finally, I said that Kwikset told me to ask any locksmith for a price in advance, and any licensed locksmith that was a reputable business would give me a price in advance, and warned me to stay away from locksmiths that would not give a price in advance. This locksmith still refused to give me a price.
This locksmith is shady and is not a reputable business in my opinion. Not giving a price in advance is what leads to all the bait and switch tactics that locksmiths are known for, which is what I tried to avoid here. I do not plan on doing business with this company and I recommend anybody reading this look elsewhere for a locksmith who can give a price in advance.

My 97-​year old friend and her caregiver were locked out of her home after being away while the housekeepers cleaned her house. They finished, locked up, and left. She had expected them to be there when she returned, and had not taken her keys with her. They called me; I called Rolling Hills Lock & Key. Within 20 minutes of my call, I received a call from the service man that the front door was now open, and the ladies were back in the house. Could not have asked for better service.

Chris was very flexible with our scheduling issues and answered all questions promptly. Re-​keyed two lock and installed an additional dead bolt with no problems.

Excellent service! Showed up on time twice! Friendly and reasonable. Due to our HOA, we needed a special lock ordered for our townhouse that was built in 1981. The lock came in over night and was installed early that afternoon. Definitely recommend this great local business. My husband was home and worked with the two gentleman but he doesn’t write Unilocal reviews :)

I’m writing this review for my dad since he doesn’t have a Unilocal account. The remote for his Malibu went out. He called the dealer and they told him to diagnose and reprogram the remote would be over $ 100 per remote. My dad asked his mechanic for a referral, and they referred him to rolling hills lock and key. He was fast and extremely reasonably priced. He did a fantastic job. We would for sure recommend him to others for the lock needs.

By mistakenly we locked one of our bed room door and all house and car keys are inside the bedroom. We completely out of sense about Unilocal and finding other options. We literally spent whole night in the hall. Some how we realized and got Chris contact from Unilocal.With in few mins Chris arrived to our home, did some magic and all our tension is gone.

I recently moved, so needed new locks and keys. Ami and Chris, i believe, came the same day i called. Ami was very helpful in explaining different locks and why some are easier to break into. As a new homeowner with a child, i had a lot of a security questions and he took his time in explaining everything. He also offered to help out with a sliding door issue I had. Will definitely use again.

Very honest and fair. I liked that they allowed for us to bring our car to them to have a second key made, so we did not have to pay an additional fee.

Ami (owner) and Chris were so punctual and neat, and got the job done without a hitch. In addition, they were so nice to tighten a loose deadbolt as a courtesy. There was the slightest misunderstanding regarding the price quotes, but Ami honored the quote in my favor. :-) All these things deserve a 5 star rating. Really appreciate the courtesy and experience they bring to the job.

Chris is so awesome! He showed up on time and did a clean job replacing my old broken front door knob. No mess left behind because of the drilling he had to do. He’s super fast and probably would have been faster if my kids and I didn’t talk his ear off. He’s just such a friendly guy. Reasonably priced and know their stuff. They programmed a difficult Honda Fit Sport 2007 key fob for me. I would return.

We moved into a new house and needed to get our locks re-​keyed. I called Ami on a Sunday late afternoon and he answered my call. We talked about what I needed and said he would come out the next day. He is such a professional. Ami called first thing in the morning to schedule the appointment and and showed up on-​time as scheduled.
Being that each lock was a different brand and key setup on each door, he figured out the most efficient and price conscious solution. He explained each option in detail and the pros and cons. In no way did he try to rip us off with any up-​sell or things we did not need. He gave his recommendations and priced it out very well. In the end, everything was done quickly and professionally.
I would definitely recommend Ami and his services. He is a great guy, knows what he is talking about, does a clean job and has good pricing.

Fast, convenient, and friendly. Ami cut non-​duplicate keys for our office on the quick, and for great rates. They also offer an onsite service. Most definitely will go back for key and lock services. Thanks again!

I love this company. I had a problem with my locks after they were installed the first time (which honestly was my fault).
Ami, the owner, came right out the next day and fixed everything in a pinch at no charge.
