Terrible. The manager George agreed on a deal and went back on his word a day later and made me bring back the car he loaned me while the paperwork was pending. He also hung up on my mom 3 seperate times.

Horrible experience from the moment we stop by and loo at cars, worst sales man no one to help us it, then contract and sales negotiations, always felt under pressure and the guy that signs the contact with you has no idea what his doing his more busy talking to you about his personal life and previous job at BMW and then after we bought the car the Bluetooth stopped working and the service department never answers the phone and have no clue what they are doing
Please don’t come to this dealer ship they all are the worst

I’ve had the absolute WORST service I have ever experienced in my life at Southbay Mazda.
I financed a Mazda a couple months ago and thinking about the service I received still makes my blood boil. I was constantly calling almost every other day for them to lie to me consistently or tell me no one could help me. The front desk receptionist was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional and would not transfer my call to anyone.
I was promised my car in a couple days which turned into almost 2 weeks with absolutely no communication, no help and no information provided to me about the status of my car after putting down a large down payment.
So I called corporate after trying to reach ANYONE at the dealership and they told me that Aaron would be more than happy to talk to me.
I have never spoken to someone more ignorant, rude, unprofessional and incompetent. He proceeded yell at me over the phone for calling corporate and being upset about my situation. Super unprofessional AND embarrassing for the company. Aaron had THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced and would advise no one to ever talk to him or even step foot in South Bay Mazda.
DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR CAR HERE. WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!

I do NOT recommend this dealership to anyone not even my worst enemy!
I went to shop around for a new car and as soon as I arrive no one was around to answer my questions.
I find someone that stated that he was a manager his name was CHAN OR CHANG from what one of the employees that wash cars told me because he never gave me his name and when I asked for his help he said he was too busy and shood me away it looked like he was too busy playing a game on his phone!
The employee that washes cars offered to find someone to assist me but at that point I didn’t want anything from that dealership.
I did not want to argue to give them my money!
If you want to be ignored and eventually shood away come here and ask for Chang!

I bought a CX9 here in January and traded my Mercedes in. Which of course means that they would pay it off! WRONG!!! 5 months later and they just paid it off which meant I was stuck with two car payments that I could not afford! Called to complain to cooperate. You would think I would get at least an apology! Nothing! Next step complain with the BBB or lawsuit. This is ridiculous. If I hadn’t made the payments for the Mercedes, that they essentially stole for 5 months, I would have a REPO on my credit. TERRiBLE! Please go somewhere else even if you need to drive a bit like to Cerritos!!!

My brother and I came in on a Sunday and Edgar helped us out. We just wanted to look at sum car’s. He asked us a couple of questions on what features we were looking for. Edgar pulled out a Mazda 6 gave us a full product walk around the car and after the test drive we were sold !!! We did sum quick numbers and were out in no time to enjoy the rest of our afternoon. for Edgar

What a waste of time. First of all, it would have been nice to know of the ridiculous inspection fee before I scheduled a week in advance to come in this morning. Having to pay someone $ 119 to take off one wheel and inspect the brakes is absurd to me; I can’t imagine what I’d be paying if they actually did find something wrong.
From the get-​go, my first (and last) experience here was terrible. Idle cars not moved out of the service lanes make it really hard to maneuver around for other cars to get through. Word to the wise, don’t tell them you got service from an auto shop other than theirs. They’ll almost immediately try to divert you back over to the other shop and tell you to get it fixed there. I made the mistake of telling Jeremy I had my brake pads replaced from another shop and his immediate response was to try going back and have them resolve the issue. Really Jeremy? You don’t think that was my first instinct? I guess he missed the part where I told him I took it back and they just resurfaced my rotor. Obviously that didn’t work out and now I’m coming to you since you guys are «hopefully» specialists with my Mazda and can maybe provide me a better assessment. I just feel as a customer that is looking for a new go-​to shop for car issues, a «not really our problem» attitude is not the best way to build customer loyalty. What’s also in poor taste, the guy didn’t even warn me about driving on potentially faulty brakes; I guess that’s none of their concern either.
So ya, just a head’s up. If you’re having brake issues, make sure it’s REALLY a brake issue. Because if not, you’ll be down $ 100+. If the money isn’t an issue, by all means do what you need to do. Oh and no weekends either, they’re coveted «master» technicians take those off. Happy driving!

EDGAR SALAZAR! He was awesome! He made my first car purchase a very easy process and saved me a lot of money! I recommend everyone to go see him! I’m defiantly going to keep buying cars from him!

Never make deal with them ! When you want to buy a car they are really nice! But when you need assistance they never call you back everybody dissapear! They made me give up my car that I bought a year ago and lease a new one ! Telling me that was a great deal! So I lost $ 10.000 ! I’m really disappointed! i tried to undo the deal less than 24 hours and they didn’t help me! When I finish my leasing I will definitely not go there anymore! Edgar make me believe I was doing the right thing ! Of course he’s going to keep all my money! they lost a good customer and I know a lot people because my work give me access a lot people ! Plus the social media is part of my job! When he came to tell me about his trick deal I listened but when I want to change my mind he didn’t even want to listen or call me back I’m still waiting for his call ! This people are a real bummer!

I have left the manager, Mr. Choi, an email with my personal contact information per his online response. It has been over 3 weeks since I sent him an email. Like other reviewers, I have yet to be contacted by him.

Shady finance manager. Doesn’t take the time to explain the lease agreement to you. When my lease is up I will be going to another dealership if they have the same finance manager.

Several months ago I bought a Mazda 3 Hatchback (which I love) but I had a really bad experience at South Bay Mazda.
I was tricked and disrespected. My salesman was Ibe who was great (unless involved). But when he was trying to work out a better interest rate, he involved Douglas from the finance department. Anyway, they gave me an offer that was not that bad but I told them I had to wait until next paycheck because based on the down payment I had to give I wouldn’t have more money to get my full coverage insurance. So, Douglas «hooked me up» with 30 days of full coverage for free. That was great for me so the deal was done. Four days later I get a call from the insurance company telling me «YOUR INSURANCE EXPIRED YESTERDAY, DO YOU WANT ME TO GIVE YOU AN ESTIMATE?»
I called Ibe and he didn’t know what to tell me. I called him 2 hours later and I was told «WE ALREADY LOST TOO MUCH MONEY ON THAT CAR SO WE’RE NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU 30 DAYS OF FREE INSURANCE»
Can you imagine that?! I was driving my new car with no insurance at all! So I drove back to the dealer where Douglas all scared, nervous and shaky comes and tells me he was going to be busy for 2 hours and couldn’t help me, after I had been calling him the whole day. I said I was gonna wait and requested to speak to somebody else, so another guy comes out I think his name was Aaron, he was even worse. We went to his office and I kindly explained the situation even though I was burning on the inside. This was his response «WE CAN ONLY GIVE YOU 3 DAYS OF FREE INSURANCE AND NOBODY HERE IS GOING TO GIVE YOU MORE»
1. I NEVER ASKED FOR FREE INSURANCE, YOU GUYS OFFERED IT TO ME!
2. EVEN IF YOU GUYS ARE DESPERATE TO SELL, DON’T TRICK CUSTOMERS! As a sells rep I can tell you CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS FIRST!!!
6 months later I still remember that day as if it was yesterday and I’m sure I will never forget it…
What gets me really mad is that I work in sells and I treat my customers with respect and never mislead them, I expect the same when I’m on the other side.
If you have to go to South Bay Mazda do yourself a favor and read everything you sign carefully, because according to previous reviews I’m not the only one that has experienced something like this.

I would give 5 stars to Ibe who sold us a 2016 Mazda MX-​5. He was very polite, informative, never pushy, and very easy going. We were never pressured to buy anything we didn’t want. He even followed up with us to make sure we had a safe trip home from the dealership. He followed up again to ask if everything is ok. He gave us his personal phone number in case we have questions. When we contacted him, he responded right away. We highly recommend that you talk to Ibe if you are buying a car there. 5 stars for him!
While working with Ibe was a breathe, we had another salesman (Edgar) working with us before him. He was the opposite. Pushy, unfriendly, and just rude. When we made an offer for the car he said it was ‘absurd’. We realized that the offer too low and bumped it up a little, he said that no one will sell us this car for this much. We told him to ask a manager, he refused! Usually, when it comes to negotiations a manager is always involved, but he didn’t even want to call the manager. Why? We increased our offer — same response. Rude. In the whole process not even a smile… just a stone face. All my life I never negotiated with a salesman like him. We had to walk out because we were so frustrated.
We were not happy with a guy in Financing department either. Aaron is his name. Although we were tired and just wanted to drive our brand new car, we wanted to make sure we didn’t get scammed with loans and packages.
Not sure if we were ripped off with the Maintenance package (will see on our first maintenance visit), but the whole process doing financing paperwork was rushed and we felt like Aaron didn’t explain well enough about any of the paperwork.
My wife is a fairly recent college graduate and we were qualified for a student rebate ($ 250), but didn’t have copy of her diploma that day. So we faxed it to the dealership a couple of days later and confirmed that they received it. They said they will mail us the check within a couple of weeks or so.
It’s been 3 months and we never received it.
Today I called Aaron to ask about the rebate. He said he will call me back to let me know the status. I had to call back 2 hours later. He said the business office was closed at the time and he will contact me ASAP when he finds out from them about the rebate. I complained that we were waiting for a long time. Not even an apology.
I don’t know how good their service department is, but we’re thinking of taking our car to a different dealership for service.
Anyway, thank you Ibe for making our car purchase process very easy and comfortable!

Update (⁰⁴⁄₂₅): David, why do you leave your email address here if you’re not replying to my email? I emailed you a week ago and left my phone # to call me back. We were promised a $ 250 rebate, and now they are telling us that we will not receive it. They offered me $ 250 in oil changes/​accessories. Why do I need oil changes if I purchased a maintenance plan? And how much of accessories I am going to buy directly from the dealership (it’s pricey anyway).
Aaron (at Financing and Loans), this message is for you… Do your job right! You telling us that we are going to receive $ 250 rebate, but never putting it on the contract??? How are we supposed to trust you and your employer’s (Southbay Mazda) business?! You’re telling us that you worked for BMW/​Audi/​Mercedes/​or whatever… and you can’t even do your paperwork right!
I will be calling Mazda tomorrow to request the rebate. If I get some kind of lame excuse again… I am calling Mazda corporate!
I was patient and I waited and waited… but now I am so frustrated with this unprofessional service.
If we don’t resolve this problem, you will lose our business forever. And we will make sure NOT to refer anyone to your business! I don’t want my family and friends to experience the same situation that I experienced.
I am lowering my rating to 2 stars.
On a positive note: Ibe thanks for following up with me. I know you’re not responsible for this issue and you don’t have control over this, but at least you always checked in on this. It’s your managers and some of your co-​workers who are just so unprofessional!

Not sure why some have had a bad experience here, but the service department dispatched repairs on my Miata within a few hours. I didn’t even have an appointment.
I’m not much on giving reviews, but this is deserved, thanks South Bay Mazda service people, I have safe wheels to drive again, and will come again for service and when it’s time to trade up!

2 strikes. A few months ago, I went to look for a used car for my son. Wandered around the lot for some time. Not 1 person came out to help. Found a nice car that was in budget. Spent some time looking at this car. Still, no one. Went home and called. Talked about the car and the price. Finally the salesman actually looked and told me the car was sold. I said that it was on the lot right up front facing the street. He said that it was in the service section. The service section? It was in a line of cars that stretched the length of the dealership. All of these cars were displayed with prices. So, obviously didn’t buy it.
Now today, I called around 10am. to check stock on 2 parts for the car my son ended up buying. I gave the parts guy the part numbers and he said they were is stock. So, after work I drive all the way down there. I arrived a few minutes before 4. The parts guy went in the back for a few minutes and then came out empty handed. He said that the inventory people came and took all the parts.
Inventory people?
The two times I have dealt with this dealership, the service was horrible.

It’s time for a bad Unilocal review. I took my car in for a couple easy quick services. Let’s start with the good. They were friendly up front, that was the only good. Now the bad, They said it would take about an hour took two hours. I had an appointment too, so it doesn’t matter if you have appointments. Second, my car was sitting there for a while and I asked hey it’s ready they said they are doing the «paperwork»… So 20 minutes just sitting there, I was watching them they weren’t doing paperwork… Lastly, these people
Of South Bay Mazda, «washed» my brand new car only 3 months old, and scratched the SHIT out of it… Please don’t let them wash your car they scratch it up really badly… I hope I never have to come back.

Car buying is already a hassle to deal with already, this place did not make it any easier.
When we got there some guy (whose name I won’t mention for his own good) saw me get out of the car and just stared at me and my family for awhile before coming up to us and greeting us. Off to a good start already. You sir deserve a raise. If raises were earned by not doing your job at least. Moving on, I showed him my quote and the certificate I had on my email guaranteeing me my special price. He immediately lead me to the wrong car.
You are a clear winner sir. I think you deserve a break, no really go sit in the back and let me get help from someone who knows what they’re doing.
Then this guy came out and says oh sorry we sold that car 2 hours ago. Really? I just called and some guy told me they’d have it out front when I arrived. So you sell the car I was promised would be there, the least you could do was call me back to notify me before I drove about an hour to get there. Idiots.
So at this point I’m pretty irritated, and if my friends know me I don’t get openly pissed off very often. So they try to calm me down by saying how about we try to get you a 2016 model for around the same price. I’m thinking oh sure, well lets waste an hour here and see what they come with.
Of course its all bullshit. Basically the rest is stupid back and forth haggling that you all must know about suffering through already. I ended up getting an amazingly crappy «deal» that was about 3k above the proposed deal I was supposed to be «hooked up» with. Oh and I ask to see the deal on paper to take home with me to compare and he wouldn’t even let me take it home. Apparently its an inside deal that they can’t let out, well your inside deal sucks ass. It also cost you from making a sale because I was planning on driving home with one tonight.
Just a tip: if you’re gonna rip someone off, at least be a little more convincing with yourselves before you try to convince me. Also, try not to openly get flustered and losses off when I say I’m gonna check out other spots. Once again, very professional.

There is a solid, and legitimate reason dealerships are nick-​named «STEALerships». Took my wife’s Mazda 5 there to diagnose what I already knew was the power steering pump because we live around the corner and she wanted to be sure. So $ 120 diagnosis later: power steering pump, which sadly is the same part under the national RECALL on 2007 – 2009 Mazda 5 and 3 but for some reason, not on 2006. The cost for a power steering pump: $ 1200 including labor. HAHAHA, ok, so I get one and install it myself, in LESS than 2 hours (what do they charge, $ 300 an hour in labor???). Now I need to get it programmed and they want to steal another $ 120 to plug in a computer and press a few buttons. SMH, I have liked Mazda cars since my first RX7 back in the early 90’s but dealing with the «dealership» sure makes me like them less…
Keep in mind, our power steering pump failed with less than 75k on the odometer.

The best quality and service ever… I purchased a brand new Mazda 6 with Edgar. He’s really nice and gets the job done!!! Great car everyone stares at me while driving and I feel sexy in it.

I was here to consider leasing a CX-​3 for our daughter. We told the salesperson from the beginning that we had two other offers from different dealerships and just wanted to compare deals. I knew my credit scores from 3 bureau credit reports and didn’t want to lower my credit so I told them that I don’t want them to run it.
After I gave them all my accurate information, we discussed everything and agreed on leasing terms, so I filled out a credit application form. Then a financing guy came out from his office and presented a completely different deal.
Instead of a 0% down payment, we were asked for $ 2500 down. And instead of $ 265 per month, it went up to $ 350 a month. Our salesperson completely miscommunicated our information to the financing person and gave us a bogus deal to begin with.
Had I known their actual offer from the beginning, I would have never agreed to let them run my credit.
Now my credit is affected for no reason.
They are completely incompetent and unprofessional.
I would not trust this dealership. Watch out!
We came home with a shiny new Honda tonight.
