Dr. Kim’s Dental Office is a family-​oriented team providing General, Cosmetic, and Prosthodontic Dentistry services in South Bay, CA.

A graduate of Seoul National University and Boston University’s School of Dentistry, with a specialization in Prosthodontics, Dr. Kim utilizes the latest procedures and techniques to provide you with the best service possible. His expertise in general dentistry and prosthodontics has been proven by helping numerous patients in over 27 years.

At Dr. Steve Kim’s Dental Office, we adhere to this principle by doing our best to minimize worries and discomfort with a diligent staff attentive to your concerns.

Our mission is to restore and maintain the oral health of our patients and to accomplish excellence in providing both everyday dentistry and specialized prosthodontic care.

History

Established in 2000.

Formerly located in Gardena, we have relocated to a new, state-​of-​the-​art location in Torrance, right next to Kings Hawaiian Bakery on Sepulveda Blvd.

Business Owner

Dr. Kim earned his graduate’s degree at Seoul National University in Korea. After practicing his dentistry for 13 years in Korea, he earned his postgraduate degree in Prosthodontics at Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University. Awarded as a Best Dentist in Los Angeles, Dr. Kim has extensive experience in dental care for the past 27 years.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Kim enjoys listening to music, a lifelong hobby from when he used to be in a group band during college. His other interests include visiting national parks across the country, eating, and spending time with his family.

The staff here is so friendly and welcoming. I’ve been coming here for about a year now. I have had a bad experience with the dentist in the past with multiple fillings and root canals that were never needed (which ended in a successful lawsuit) so I am cautious with who I trust. Dr Kim is honest and would never compromise the care he gives!!! I highly recommend!!!

Dr Kim is awesome! He is very patient and always professional and with great bed side manner. His office staff is very friendly, professional with a human touch. They are accommodating and always smiling. I feel more like family than a patient, not because of lack of professionalism but because of their natural kindness. The office is clean, updated with latest technology. They always use radiation protection for imaging! I highly recommend them to anyone!

I am such a fan of Dr. Kim and his entire staff! His front desk staff, Teresa and Lena are the kindest around! I’ve had to have major dental work done, and I’m extremely satisfied with the whole process. Dr. Kim is ultra gentle, skilled and alleviated my fears. His hygienist Kathy is amazing and really super friendly. I left his office multiple times hugging his assistant, Neng, because she really cares for you besides being quick, efficient, and skilled! «I hate the dentist»…you hear that a lot! I have a major fear of the dentist’s chair. I had the best dental experiences and I no long fear coming!

My husband and I first found Dr. Kim after receiving a mailer for teeth whitening from him. We had such a great experience with the doctor and the entire staff that we both decided to leave our previous dentists and become patients of Dr. Kim. His entire staff, from the front office to the hygienists, are very personable, helpful, and welcoming. I have now seen Dr. Kim for Iveri whitening, a night guard, and a cleaning/​exam, and in all instances he has taken his time with me and made me feel like I was in the most capable hands. I have since referred friends to Dr. Kim and they love him and his staff as well! Switching dentists was definitely one of the best decisions I have made! Thanks Dr. Kim and staff!

The place is great. The staff are all very nice and make you feel very comfortable talking with them. It gives a really inviting feeling that you don’t get from most places. The dentist himself is very patient and understanding. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out. I was really scared and nervous because my last dentist was horrible. He took the time to address all my concerns. In the end everything went fine. They gave me an ice pack and offered pain meds. Next day I wasnt swollen and not at all in pain. The instructions they gave are very clear and I left with no questions. I would definitely recommend and one come to this office.

Everyone is very sweet, prompt, and professional! Had my cleaning done (nearly a deep clean!), teeth whitened with Iveri (only gets u to a natural whitening shade but nonpainful), and my cavities filled. I would recommend this office for everyone.

I came across this dentist from a flyer that was sent to my house and I would recommend them for sure. I don’t like the dentist at all but he made my visit very easy to handle. The staff is also very kind and welcoming. If you need an affordable dentist, this is the place to go.
And they also have a special for new patients for cleaning, x-​ray and consultation for $ 80!

I hate going to dentist (so does everybody else)! I’ve read up on Unilocal review and gave Dr Kim a shot. I’m glad I did. I have to say I feel stress free going here. The front desk were nice, the area inside was clean, and the equipments is up to date. The staff are friendly and professional. I did a check up, cleaning, X-​ray, and cavities filling. The whole procedure was very smooth and painless.

Love running my tongue over my freshly cleaned teeth! They’re so pearly white and gleaming because my hygienist, Kathy is so meticulous with her work. She nabbed plaque from every nook and cranny of my mouth.
The place is very open spaced with welcoming allure. Dr. Kim is professional with his examination. The ladies in the front are friendly and send you packing with dental goodies.
The best part about this office? The trippy looking pen that makes me nostalgic for the 90s.

After about 3 or more years of not going to the dentist, and my health insurance finally arriving. I needed a good cleaning. To be honest, only reason why I went here was due to the fact of being open on Saturday. Luckily for me, they did an amazing job. My teeth were whiter, and my cavities were filled. They were fast and polite. It was warm in there, but I don’t know if it was due to my mouth pouring blood from the cleaning or me hating the dentist. No offense.

I scheduled my husbands cleaning last Saturday and we had an exceptional visit. The staff were efficient and professional while giving a kind and courteous atmosphere. The office is clean and up to date.
The dentist is a very well learned physician who took time and care. We trust this office so much we drove an hour. I’ll be scheduling my visit very soon!

The facility is very clean, modern, and pleasant. That’s about the best thing about this business.
The hygienist and the office staff were a bit pushy and pedantic. They even displayed a bit of a disrespectful demeanor towards me, either pushing me to make a decision quickly to get a procedure done or contemptuously mocking me about my dental hygiene habits.
Once, I was told to pay for a procedure upfront 100% out of my own pocket and then they would reimburse me when they get paid by the insurance. But, Dr. Kim’s office never reimbursed me anything because my insurance deemed the procedure unnecessary and didn’t pay for it at all. I was mislead by the doctor and the office staff to go ahead and get the procedure done since my insurance will definitely pay for it, when in fact, the procedure was not even clinically necessary. I felt like I was swindled to get it done for their business profit.
Overall, this is a dental office with their PROFIT at the top of their mind rather than patient’s best interest.
Maybe they need the fund to pay for their state of the art facility.
They send out so many marketing materials, coupons, mailers etc. to bring in more customers, but they don’t seem to work hard to maintain a good relationship with existing patients to make them truly satisfied and happy.
I am finding a more ethical dental office.

Dr. Steve really knows what he is doing and what is best for the patients. My entire family comes to see him. The overall atmosphere is welcoming and very clean. All the staff are very attentive and try to make you as comfortable as possible.
