Specialties

We specialize in steam (hot water extraction) cleaning of carpet, tiles, upholstery, and rugs. We also specialize in stain removal and pet issues. We use environment-​friendly products that are great especially for children, elderly, and pets. We operate truck-​mount machines for maximum cleaning.

History

Established in 2001.

Two brothers, Jeff and Greg, started carpet cleaning in Sunset Beach, Hawaii in 2001. Our clients have mostly been Oahu’s vacation rental property companies and individual owners. Greg started Sunset Carpet & Tile Cleaning Ventura CA in 2003, and Jeff started Sunset Carpet & Tile Cleaning L.A. in 2010. We still manage the original Sunset Carpet in Sunset Beach Hawaii. Both L.A. and Ventura are owner-​operated family business. Our goal has always been making our customers happy with our work.

Hi, my name is Jeff Erickson. Our father taught my brother Greg and me how to run a business starting in our late teen years to our twenties. Our family owned surf shops in Ventura County. It was hard juggling work and college at the same time, but I learned many trades then.

What Greg and I enjoy the most is dealing with customers and satisfying them cleaning their flooring. Greg moved to Hawaii in 2000 and started a carpet cleaning business for vacation rentals there. A couple of years later, I joined him, and we both enjoyed meeting people in Hawaii and from all over the world while making our business grow. In 2010, I came back to California and started Sunset Carpet & Tile Cleaning L.A.

I must also confess that I’m a bit of a nerd; I’m truly into studying different and new methods to clean carpet and tiles. On my days off, I enjoy hiking, fishing, working with gemstones (especially opals), and reading.

Had Jeff of Sunset Carpet Cleaning back for a third time to clean our off-​white beach-​side whole-​house carpet. Once again, we were impressed with his professionalism, quick response, cleaning know-​how, knowledge of the chemistry of stains and dirt. He had our five year old carpets looking almost new again after a day of hard work. Made my wife decide the daring color choice wasn’t so bad five years ago. Looked at a stubborn greasy stain, brought in the right solution, and the stain was out in less than 10 seconds. Call Jeff for great expert service at a good price. We’ll have him back. In the meantime, we’re recommending him to all our friends.
Our 2014 review: You will not find a better carpet cleaner than this. Jeff is knowledgeable and skilled at removing soil and stains of all descriptions and origins. We have had about 2000 square feet of off-​white high quality carpet cleaned by him twice now in our beachy townhouse. We couldn’t be happier with the results. He got out tough permanent magic marker and carbon black candle wick stains. He shows up on time, is professional and offers the best service at a great price. We recommend him to all our friends. He’ll keep our carpet looking new for years to come. You’ll not be disappointed.

Had the carpets cleaned in our home this afternoon by Jeff (owner). Couldn’t have been friendlier, and couldn’t have done a better job! He was so easy to work with and went way above and beyond to make sure the carpets looked spotless. He used an enzyme pre-​treatment to help with pet stains and dust mites, prior to the steam suction cleaning.
We’ve had our carpets cleaned several times in the past and I have never gone back to the same company twice. This will change now that Sunset Carpet Cleaning is my new go to!
Bottom line is Jeff is a good dude who did a great job and was friendly and easy to work with. I don’t feel like he’s trying to hustle the customer like so many other companies do. He truly seems like he loves his job and takes pride in his work!!!

I had read many reviews on carpet cleaning companies before selecting Sunset Carpet Cleaning. I use Unilocal for all new service when I don’t have a referral.
Jeff returned my call the same day, as he promises on his voice mail. He was most accommodating with my schedule and was on time. He was at my home a long time cleaning my living room carpet as it was the first time being cleaned since being laid about 8 yrs ago.
It came out great! Jeff does quality work and is reasonably priced! You can’t go wrong with Sunset Carpet Cleaning.

Jeff did it again! I called in a last minute panic because I was moving out of my apartment and the carpet needed cleaned. Jeff accommodated my request and promptly came out to clean my carpet. When the apartment was inspected the management was very pleased with how the carpet looked. I told them to use Sunset Carpets. Today I received my deposit back in the mail and I was very pleased. I’m sure Jeff helped me save money because otherwise they might have torn out the carpet and charged me for it. His rate was reasonable and he is a very professional and kind guy. You can’t go wrong with Sunset Carpets.

If you want quality work treat yourself to Jeff! I ‘ve used several carpet cleaning companies and Jeff was the most personable and thorough! We used him to clean our rental house and he did a fantastic job. We hired him again for the new house we purchased. The house had (understatement) dirty carpets and we needed to be rescued! I thought we had to start part of renovations now, but Jeff gave us the diagnosis, it was salvageable. He began his magic and you can tell he loves his work. I’m grateful, we can get by until we undergo the complete remodel. All around perfect service and my carpets are darn near white. I would recommend Sunset Carpet Cleaning in a heartbeat. I can’t recommend Jeff and his team at Sunset Carpet Cleaning enough! As tenants moving out of a property we wanted to make sure the carpets were cleaned (white carpets and a black dog don’t go well!). I called at very short notice, Jeff was out to give me an estimate the next day and back a couple of days later to do our entire house. Fantastic job, they look even better than when we moved in! Jeff was polite, professional and very knowledgable. He worked all day and made sure that the carpets look amazing. I have even left his business card on the fridge for the new tenants as I’m sure they will want to know who did the carpets! I wish I had taken more before and after pictures. Thanks Jeff :-)

Gregg was very personable and honest. He would not sell me anything I did not need. Once he arrived, I actually had him do a couple extra things for me that he had no problem adding with only a slightly higher price than quoted. Our old carpet looks really good, and the dirty stools are much cleaner than I could get them when I tried to do it myself. I would recommend this Sunset Carpet Cleaning to my friends.

Jeff at Sunset Carpet Cleaning did an excellent job cleaning our carpet. He is extremely polite, punctual, and professional. Despite having many stubborn stains on our white carpet, he refused to give up on them and did absolutely everything he could to clean them as much as possible. He has a very pleasant demeanor, and epitomizes what good service should be. Being a self-​proclaimed perfectionist, he takes his time with his work, so that might be considered somewhat of a nuisance to people who are in a big hurry, but for us his diligence was a very welcome attribute, and I have no problem recommending him.

Highly recommended! I had a few area rugs cleaned by Jeff. He was able to clean off all the stains and use a kid-​friendly cleaner. His price was reasonable too. He came for a free consultation with no selling pressure. He took his time to make sure the job was done right.
