I have been to Dr Takemura for colonoscopy/​endoscopy tests for over 10 years now, and aside from the prep, the test has always been 100% pain free and as pleasant as you can expect, as strange as that sounds. My sister had one recently at another place and explained how horrible it was, how she was awake and in horrible pain and they kept telling her «almost done, just wait» and now she’s traumatized. I can’t even imagine, I go in, go to sleep, wake up and it’s over and I have no pain or discomfort at ALL. Dr Takemura is completely professional, kind and has a gentle demeanor. Highly recommend!

Loved this guy! After a bad experience with my last colonoscopy at South Bay Gastro, I was thrilled to find Dr. Takemura and his staff friendly and caring. Dr. Takemura spent quite a bit of time with me. He was very thorough and insisted on getting my records from previous colonoscopies and surgery. I wish all doctors and their staffs were like this.

I had a colonoscopy with Dr. Takemura recently and found that him and his staff are kind, courteous and knowledgable. They all did their best to make sure I knew everything I needed to know about the preparation days and the procedure. I was very nervous on procedure day but Dr. Takemura (and the staff in the Endoscopy Dept. at Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance) made me feel at ease and the procedure was not difficult at all. I recommend this doctor highly. And p. s. I have a Covered California medical insurance policy and they accepted mine.

This practice became part of Providence – you know, the health care goliath that ruined Little Company of Mary Hospital.
As such, he no longer accepts Covered California patients.
Apparently helping working class or poor people insured by Covered California is not quite lucrative enough – even for a doctor educated at UCLA, a public university and medical school funded in large part by the taxpayers of the State of California.
