History

Established in 1972.

Alfonzo Artiano left the isle of Ischia (near Capri) in a9155 to join his father in San Pedro. After working in the restaurant business for several years, his dream of opening his own restaurant was realized in 1972 when he opened the first Appetizer on Deep Valley Drive.

Al oversaw a busy kitchen whether they were popular sandwiches or Italian specialties made from Mama Lucy’s own recipes.

These tasty dishes are now available at this new Appetizer location — still run by the family — in Torrance.
